DEARBORN (WWJ) – A 34-year-old man has been arrested and charged in last week’s double murder at a Dearborn dollar store.
Lavere Bryant was arraigned afternoon on murder, armed robbery, and unlawful imprisonment charges.
Joseph Orlando, 22, was found shot to death in the Family Dollar store on Michigan Avenue last Tuesday.
Following a two-day search, the body of his co-worker, 20-year-old Brenna Machus, was found in a wooded area just a few miles away.

Since it is not specifically mentioned that he raped her, we can assume that he did repeatedly and most violently.
I’m glad they got the bastard. We had a double homicide here in early June. Black perp murdered his ex-girlfriend (white) who he had a 2 year old child with. Girl comes home from having worked a double shift at a local nursing home. He attacks her as she enters her home, stabbing her multiple times. Her roommate and roommate’s boyfriend (both white) were in the home, and had taken care of the child while she was working. The roommate’s boyfriend attempted to pull the attacker off the girl, and is severely cut several times. The girl dies at the scene, and the roommate’s boyfriend dies at the hospital. The perp attempts to stab himself and cut his own throat, then flees the apartment. His wounds are not serious, and he’s found hiding in a car several hours later.
I’d love to see his rap sheet. Bet he’s been an offender since his teens, been in and out of jail and prison, and had multiple arrests that never went anywhere.

He went to a Dollar store knowing it was a soft target, I bet.
Robbery was not the motive.
Different state but this one won’t ever be walking free again. Tried him three times for the death penalty in NY for killing 2 undercover cops.
