Where Can Wisdom Be Found?

July 25, 2013

Wisdom is the beauty of holiness. James says wisdom is reasonable; flexible; forgiving; peaceful; caring; given to friendly visits, small acts of courtesy, and kind words. It is humble, transparent, simple, gentle, and gracious to the core (James 3:17).

Where can wisdom be found? It comes from heaven (1:5). “Wisdom,” wrote Charles Spurgeon, “is a beauty of life that can only be produced by God’s workmanship in us.”

It’s good to ask from time to time: “Am I growing in wisdom?” After all, life is relentlessly dynamic. We’re either growing sweeter and wiser as the days go by, or we’re growing into foolish or even sour-faced curmudgeons. Into what are we growing?

It’s never too late to begin growing in wisdom. God loves us with an ardent, intense affection that can deliver us from our foolishness if we yield ourselves to Him. His love can make the most difficult nature into a miracle of astonishing beauty. It may hurt a little and it may take a while, but God relentlessly seeks our transformation. When we ask, His wisdom will begin to rise in us and pour itself out to others.

We have this promise: “If any of you lacks wisdom, let him ask of God, who gives to all liberally and without reproach, and it will be given to [you]” (1:5).

Lord, please put an end to our foolishness and
turn our hearts toward the wisdom that comes
only from You. We ask You now to take our
lives and transform them into Your likeness.
True wisdom begins and ends with God.

Read: James 3:13-17

If any of you lacks wisdom, let him ask of God. —James 1:5

Good evening, Mac...*HUGS*...still hot and muggy? A good commute?

Still really warm here. Tonight the compter doc is coming by to figure out why my external won’t speak to my computer. I’ve been limping along with a small external and printing on my Dad’s computer/printer.

Just got word yesterday that my brother who had a detached retina fixed will be able to come up. Now all 4 kids will be here on August 2nd when we take my Dad’s ashes to the Fort Richardson National Cemetery. My Mom is happy. LOL!

SOUP FOR THE TROOPS

WELCOME TO THE

(where our troops, allies and their families can refresh themselves)

Good morning, Everyone.
Good morning to our

Thank you, Ma, for preparing the Canteen
for today's activities
All I can say is OUCH!
when I look at the picture of Amber
doing the resistance training.
I'm not sure I could have
done that in my prime years.

DC METROLAND WEATHER

~ Today... Sun and clouds mixed.
High around 80F. Winds N at 10 to 15 mph.

~ Tonight... Mostly clear. Low 62F.
Winds N at 5 to 10 mph

OMG! It's like heaven outside.
Like a fall morning, it's so cool.
Wish the rest of the summer was like it.
I almost had to put on a sweater but no way!
I may have to use a jacket
when I walk down by the water this morning.

Making Z Zoup
A cup of this...a teaspoon of that...

When Ben Franklin was living in England
he used the breast stroke
during his regular swims across the Thames River
– the same stroke used by Matthew Webb
in 1875 when be became the first person
to swim the English Channel.

The first woman to play golf
at St. Andrew's Golf Club in Scotland
was Mary, Queen of Scots, in 1552.
She was the club's founder.

There is no documented proof
that Betsy Ross designed
the American flag.

According to experts,
large caves tend to "breathe";
they inhale and exhale great quantities of air
when the barometric pressure on the surface changes,
and air rushes in or out
seeking equilibrium.

Gasoline has no specific freezing point
– it freezes at any temperature
between -180 and -240 degrees Fahrenheit.
When gasoline freezes,
it never solidifies totally,
but resembles gum or wax.

I know you've heard this before
but I have to post and run.
Today is the last day of the week
and I have an urgent item I need to do
first thing this morning before the secretary gets in.
So, without further ado...tootles! hehe.

The FR Canteen is ALWAYS

Come in, sit down.
Grab a cup of joe, or tasty tea.
Mingle a bit, chat with the troops
or family member.
There's always plenty of conversation, silliness,
and plain old BS in the FR Canteen.

REMEMBER THEM ~ DEFENDERS OF FREEDOM

Well, we're crossing our fingers and hoping for rain today. There's a slight risk for severe storms for parts of Oklahoma.

Here's the current radar for Oklahoma:

There is a Flash Flood Watch for parts of Northern, Central and Northeastern Oklahoma tonight and tomorrow.

We'll see how things go today with the weather.
