The next presidential election is more than three years away, but early polling shows Hillary Rodham Clinton leading the Democratic pack by a landslide margin, with a whopping 63 per cent of Democrats telling pollsters that they would vote for the former first lady and Secretary of State.
Vice President Joe Biden came in second with 13 per cent support - barely one-fifth of Clinton's showing.
The GOP field is anyone's game, however, with New Jersey Gov. Chris Christie only garnering 15 per cent support among Republicans to narrowly lead the pack. He's followed by Wisconsin Rep. Paul Ryan, Florida Sen. Marco Rubio, former Florida Gov. Jeb Bush, Kentucky Sen. Rand Paul and Texas Sen. Ted Cruz - all clustered within 8 percentage points. Clinton would beat Christie in a head-to-head matchup, the pollsters found, with 47 per cent favoring the former first lady and 41 per cent choosing Christie. She polls even better against Jeb Bush, with an 8-point margin, and against both Rubio and Paul, with a 12-point spread.
The McClatchy-Marist Poll surveyed 1,204 adults between July 15 and July 18. Eighty-one per cent of them are registered voters.
'Get ready for round two of Hillary Clinton as the inevitable,' Dr. Lee M. Miringoff, Director of The Marist College Institute for Public Opinion, said in a statement.
Other Democrats in the poll, scraping the bottom of the barrel, included New York Gov. Andrew Cuomo and Maryland Gov. Martin O'Malley, who polled 6 per cent and 1 per cent, respectively.

Chris Christie? How about a Republican?
We’re in Dry Gulch, and the most corrupt rancher around has no Lone Ranger and Tonto to stop her.
Will they step forward in time?
Hurricane Sandy Fluke will blow all the way to be Chief of Staff and Weiner’s wife will be Secretary of State.
These hypothetical polls now are meaningless....worthless.....
I think she’s a lock, flushing SlowJoe and Cuomo very early in the primary process.
But then again, who in Dec 2007 would believe that a guy named Baraq Hussein would be the POTUS-elect a year later.
especially with Christie
I think Christie is Hillary’s VP.
There will be a mediagasm over bipartisanship.
well duh, What about the General election after he and she battle out the Democrat primary?
If the GOP doesn’t go on a full-fledged assault on the STINKING media, 2016 is already over. Looks like the NSA will retain it’s ability to engage in election tampering for Hillary, anyway, thanks to the Republicans in the House.
Hillary Clinton and Christ Christie going “head to head.” That would be an ugly picture, indeed.
Christie is 0bama in a bigger suit.
We have to keep sending messages to the world. Should Princess Hillary win, a Latino liberal and/or a homosexual will win the Presidency.
Shame our side hasn’t figured it out yet that it really matters not who we run. The other side is not going to allow us to win. They cheat. Plain and simple.
And nobody stops them. That is why the RINO wing kisses O’s ass. They want to keep their job even if they are always the minority party.
... in the years to come.
In a Clinton vs Christie race, I’ll vote for the third party or write in Putin.
Finish us off Hitlery. Obama’s done all the heavy lifting.
My sister-in-law spent several yrs there and said NO WAY.
Let’s just elect Karl Marx III and be done with it.
"What difference does it make?"
She had similar numbers before the magic Kenyan commie showed up. Besides, I think her health might spare us.(God willing).
In the end, all you have to do to beat Hillary is run to left of her, and the rats will vote for the most radical loon they can find. Elizabeth Warren would beat her.
As for Republicans, Kirspy Kreme can poll wherever he likes. He will not get through our primary. Forget Jebby too.
Bullshit! Hillary is finished. Both the muslim brotherhood and Saudis have pulled their spy from her. She is back keeping tabs on Weiner. If Hillary was still politically viable, she would still be with her as her “assistant” and sextoy. Weiner is the one to watch now.
Unless she dies befre the election she will be the next US POTUS . The fix is in .
Christie is a massive coronary just waiting to happen.
Ha! Well said.
Odds are there will be no 2016 election.
I have to say, wouldn’t it be something special if it was Krispy vs. Hillary, and the debate got so intense, Krispy’s heart and Hillary’s brain put them both out of action.
Two Lefties head to head and Bill Clinton’s camouflage wife wins. Who’d have thunk it?
I don’t think she can be stopped from getting the nomination. I’ve pretty much accepted that for several years now.
These are the initial drumbeats that will wind up with her getting the nomination.
These are designed to convince the Left she’s the go to person in 2016.
As for our side, it matters little. We have nothing but Dem light and pretenders on deck.
That or Charlie “Green Iguana” Crist of Florida.
Breitbart correctly identified the enemy.
Heeeeeeyyyy, thaaaaat’s greeeeeaaaaaaaaat.
Barring Divine Intervention, it will be Mrs/ Clinton vs Jeb Bush in 2016, MNrs. Bill will win. Actually I donot think it matters who the contestants are, the Democrat will win. That is one of the wonderful things about electronic voting machines.
The only fly I see in THAT ointment is that I don’t think Cruz would hold still for the Veep spot, and I’m certain Sarah wouldn’t. And I wouldn’t blame her. If there ever IS a next time for her, she’s not going to suffer through playing second fiddle again.
That has stopped being funny DrewH.
The last time she explained her plans for immigration reform during an interview, she ended my ability to support her.
If you look at her qualifications, she’s not a major player. If she does steal away the nomination, even if elected, she doesn’t have a plan.
She is a cheerleader. She IS NOT a quarterback.
Knock yourself out. I won’t be joining you.
Finish us off Hitlery. Obamas done all the heavy lifting.
That sums it up very well.
I’d bet she’s going to take it in 2016.
Maybe we should just run Chris Clinton, the fat old Lesbian combination you get when you mix Hillary and Christie together?
I think Hillary is gonna be mighty long in the tooth by 2016.
It is already too late. Anyonê who has a chance at the Republican nomination has been running hard with the fat cats for two election cycles already and has been doing things and putting out markers for a similar length of time. There is only one who has been visibly doing that and it is Jeb Bush. Sarah Palin could be one, I don't know if she has been amassing funds and IOUs. She will be opposed vehemently by the Republican Party and by too many conservatives if she is running. Jeb Bush is the one whose Turn it is to win the nomination and throw the election.

“Odds are there will be no 2016 election.”
Sure there will be. And it’ll be just like every other election: the uniparty will win in a landslide.
Well, she could outrun him, that’s for sure.
I get nauseated at the idea of her (or any other radical, for that matter) picking Scalia or Thomas’ replacement. It’d be pretty devastating.
I liked it. You’ve pretty much laid it out there. I can’t argue with it.
There you have it Conservatives. Enjoy...
Yep, I was a sucker during the Romney campaign, never again.
