Marketing 'Obamacare' Shaping Up As Big Challenge [$684M ad campaign]
AP ^ | 7/24/2013

It will make you stronger. It will give you peace of mind and make you feel like a winner. Health insurance is what the whole country has been talking about, so don't be left out.

Sound like a sales pitch? Get ready for a lot more. As President Barack Obama's health care law moves from theory to reality in the coming months, its success may hinge on whether the best minds in advertising can reach one of the hardest-to-find parts of the population: people without health coverage.

The campaign won't come cheap: The total amount to be spent nationally on publicity, marketing and advertising will be at least $684 million, according to data compiled The Associated Press from federal and state sources.

TOPICS: Extended News; Government
KEYWORDS: abortion; deathpanels; obamacare; zerocare
And the lemmings will flock to it like they did to food stamps after they were marketed.

(Of course, instead of a benefit, this sign-up will end up costing them thousands each year...but the lemmings will still be feel cool about it)

How are they getting their hands on this money, who is authorizing this vast sum?

…who is authorizing this vast sum?

Why in the world would he need to have something authorized?

He is THE WON, after all.

Funny,it’s the law of the land and they have to waste almost three quarters of a billion dollars to sell it?
We really are in the twilight zone

An expensive advertising campaign won’t magically make this turkey of a law into gold. It will remain a turkey.

$684M ad campaign...

Yea, of OUR MONEY.

Congress needs to grow a backbone and defund the entire program before odumbo breaks this country with his over the wall ideas. Start calling your reps to get them to repeal the entire “circus” known as “Odumbocare”.

$684,000,000.00 of lipstick on a pig....

One might think that as people's paychecks shrink because their hours have been cut back, or their health insurance contributions have increased, they might notice. Then again, the last two elections have confirmed that as a nation we've crossed the Rubicon from Constitutional Republic to full-blown Idiocracy.

Since Obama took office, through the end of June 2013, there have been 74,722,750 NICS checks for firearms purchases, or 43.4% of all the NICS checks that have been made since 1998! Maybe it's less than half, but what Obama has been doing scares the willies out of tens of millions of people.

Why do we need a marketing campaign to push something that's mandatory?
It's like to quote from The Man With The Iron Mask: "Wear it until you love it!".

Lemmings will only flock to a program to get FREE stuff.

They are not going to flock to this so that they can start forking over insurance premiums.

Witness the majority of people in inner-city areas who drive uninsured.

Buried in the original bill, along with the death panels and the Cornhusker Kickbacks and all the other stuff that we had to pass it to learn was in it.
