Justice Department to challenge states’ voting rights laws
Washington Post ^ | July 25, 2013 | Sari Horwitz

In the coming weeks, Attorney General Eric H. Holder Jr. is expected to announce that the Justice Department is using other sections of the Voting Rights Act to bring lawsuits or take other legal action to prevent states from implementing certain laws, including requirements to present certain kinds of identification in order to vote. The department is also expected to try to force certain states to get approval, or “pre-clearance,” before they can change their election laws.

In his Orlando speech, Holder said that the Justice Department would not wait for Congress to act. Instead, he said, the department would shift resources in its civil rights division to focus on provisions of the act that were not affected by the court’s ruling, including Section 2, which prohibits voting discrimination based on race, color or language.

Their Dept of "Just Us" in action again.

There. Fixed it.

Meanwhile, the IRS and other agencies of the Federal government will continue to actively suppress the rights of voters with whom the Administration disagrees.

The SCOTUS should summon him to the court and publicly bitch slap Holder for thinking that their ruling only weeks ago stripping these type provisions from the Voting Rights Act somehow doesn’t apply to his version of justice.

Black leaders really do think that white America is at war with blacks because black leaders are always at war with whites. It’s projection.

North Carolina's governor has a new voter ID law package on his desk. I hope all NC Freepers will call 1-800-662-7952 of 919-814-2050 and ask him to sign that AND the expanded concealed carry law also on his desk.

Please call 919-814-2000 and tell Gov. McCrory you’re for (1) expanding Concealed Carry and (2) the voting bill that, among other things, bars people under guardianship from voting.

The second one is going to cause a first class stink, but I had the experience of voting in a booth beside a young man who did not know how to use a pencil, what voting was, or what a ballot was. He absolutely did not have a clue in this world what a candidate was. And, yet, his vote, made with the loud and constant help of a poll worker (?) counted as much as mine. This fellow looked normal, but something was BAD WRONG. There’s no way he could have been living independently, and I cannot understand why we insist on giving severely mentally handicapped people a vote – a real vote that determines our collective fates for years to come.

I heard several mothers say that voting means so much to their autistic and mentally challenged children – that their children are passionate about voting. But, voting for what? Ernie and Bert? The candidate their guardians like?

AG Holder is going to have apoplexy over both these bills.

It’s a Holder end around the Supreme Court decision on the Voting Rights Act.. He’s looking for a legal means, any means, to disregard the spirit of the SCOTUS decision and, in so doing, is disregarding the spirit of checks-and-balances.

In breaking news, President Obama has just rescinded the policies mentioned by Holder in his Orlando speech.

"In the interest of Inclusion, Fairness for All and in order to lower the consumption of Greenhouse-Gas-Producing ("Boooo! Hisssss!, Booo!) petroleum products all polling places will be closed. Ballot Boxes are banned.

For my next re-election, election results will be determined by the total number of Facebook "Likes" and Twitter "Followers".

Remember, Vote early & Vote Often!"

NC Freepers: Sorry, I should have eliminated the line with the 919-814-2000 number. The previous line has the correct numbers.

Hopefully one of the affected states will quickly appeal to the federal district court, unless they go directly to their justice on the SCOTUS, to get an injunction against the Just Us Department.

Ted Cruz or Gov Perry should offer the following regarding Holder:
“Yes, there was a time in the south where racism was part of the restrictive practices of the government in power. However, as more Republicans have been voted into office in these southern states, much has been done to remove the racist policies that were put in place by over 100 years of democRATs holding the majority of elected office.”

When the Supreme Court makes a decision that is repugnant to the majority of Americans, we have to put up and shut up. When they make a ruling this administration doesn’t like, the criminals in charge actually challenge it and forge ahead anyway. Despicable.

Ignore them. They ignore anything they don’t want to do. It’s time to just tell the feds to get stuffed unless they are ready to start the shooting.
