The NSA's New Spy Facilities are 7 Times Bigger Than the Pentagon (O'Bammy's 'Library')

He works at one of the three-letter intelligence agencies and oversees construction of a $1.2 billion surveillance data center in Utah that is 15 times the size of MetLife Stadium, home to the New York Giants and Jets. Long Island native Harvey Davis, a top National Security Agency official, needs that commanding presence. His role is to supervise infrastructure construction worldwide for NSA, which is part of the Defense Department. That involves tending to logistics, military installations, as well as power, space and cooling for all NSA data centers.

In May, crews broke ground on a $792 million computing center at the agency’s headquarters near Baltimore that will complement the Utah site. Together the Utah center and Maryland’s 28-acre computer farm span 228 acres—more than seven times the size of the Pentagon.

During an interview with Government Executive in June, amid the uproar over leaked details of NSA’s domestic espionage activities, Davis describes the 200-acre Utah facility as very transparent: “Only brick and mortar.” A data center just provides energy and chills machines, he says.

I believe planning for the data centers occurred before Obama. This is above one administration. The blame goes to power hungry people of both parties.

Naw, his “Library” will have 18 holes, a beer tap, and veggie bar. And a bottomless pit into which all files, records, and data will be thrown.

Ignoring for the moment if this thing is evil or not, it does strike me we have become very lax about survivability of investments like this in the case of an actual war. Lots of eggs in one big basket.

I understand your point as well. Either way, this does not bode well for Americans in the long run. Trumped up charges and blackmail will become the norm for political enemies.

One can only hope.

OTOH, the real facilities are doubtless under a mountain somewhere.

I once thought the people could rise up and stop this. I think that no more. The government simply has too much information on where everyone is and the guns they own.

I’m sitting in front of a window. I feel like I’m being watched while in my own home. At one time or another, we’re all being watched. Cameras are everywhere. Tin foil is no longer needed.

This is a modern-day Tower of Babel. Utterly evil. It should not be allowed to exist.

It is the equivalent of Star Wars’ Death Star...only this weapon deals in deceit, massive lying and illegal operations under color of His Majesty’s flag.

Everyone that will work in that complex is a traitor; those who fill its coffers as well.

Never buy into their stated horsesh!t that this is to prevent terrorist attacks.

They knew in advance about the Ft. Hood terrorist’s communications with Al Qaeda and did nothing.

They knew in advance about the Boston bombers’ training in Russia with known terrorists.

This is to profile American dissidents and expose critics of the regime.

Yesterday I heard one of the defenders of the program saying a phonebook contains more personal information than the metadata they obtain by snooping. It’s not like you couldn’t marry the ADDITIONAL information to the other metadata.

Every damn website can offer it’s own version of “the white pages”.

By floor space, this would make it more than twice as large as the current world’s largest building (New Century Centre in China)!

It probably doesn’t qualify for the record because it is technically composed of multiple interconnected buildings.

A few thousand botnets with specific keywords could send their little spying operation into a dog chasing it’s tail scenario.

Or...a few thousand citizens could surround the place and just burn it to the ground.

Kinda like a woodstock, but for liberty....

I wonder how many angry citizens it would take to storm the castle so to speak...

Of course they would probably send the drones after us....
