American fashion giant Abercrombie & Fitch is under investigation for only employing good looking sales staff at its flagship store in Paris.
Some of the best looking sales assistants in the French capital end up on staff at the shop, which is on the Champs Elysee. Many are so stunning that they often parade topless, inside the store or on the pavement outside.
But now the Defender of Rights an independent watchdog which aims to protect ordinary people from discrimination says that ugly, fat people should be allowed a job too.
Defender of Rights has now launched an independent probe which, if their case is proved, could see legal action taken against Abercrombie and Fitch.
Spokesman Dominique Baudis said that solely employing handsome people not only discriminates against the aesthetically-challenged, but sent out the wrong message to those buying Abercrombie & Fitchs products.
While essential and decisive professional requirements can justify taking physical appearance into account when recruiting models, it is different for sales positions, said Mr Baudis.

Disney discovered this when they tried to make their employees at EuroDisney shave and take a shower.
Violation of Human Rights in l’Republique Francaise.
Good views of the old A&F in the 1964 movie Man's Favorite Sport?
And Paula Prentiss is smoking hot too.
I remember hot Braniff and Continental stewardesses.
None topless though. Remember ‘Fly me’?
“The jacket should be zipped up to the “forth button from the bottom,” the manual specifies. “The lowest button should be left undone,” it says.” -——————————
What a laugh. So “sophisticated” and the morons don’t know the difference between “fourth” and “forth.” Too damn cheap to hire a proof reader for their crap.
And sex, too?
They should be criticized for giving away catalogs that should be labeled “Adult”
A few years ago our “human resources” person, a very short, obese, black women called a meeting and said we need to hire fewer very young, very attractive female associates. We also need to hire more blacks. (there are only about 6 blacks in the County) and most of them are retired.
Cumberland County, TN...i am too old & stupid to post the chart from the last census.
I guess we could bus them in ??????????
They also had problems with putting sexually mature phrases on their little girl panties.
“I never went to bed with an ugly woman, but I sure woke up with a few...”
So you “went home at 2 with a 10, and woke up at 10 with a 2?”
The “fairness doctrine” people have gone over the edge.
This is why A and F should just go away. This was from their CEO
“We go after the cool kids,” he was quoted as saying, in reference to his company’s target demographic. “A lot of people don’t belong, and they can’t belong. Are we exclusionary? Absolutely.”
It may be cool and make people feel better about themselves to pick on “fat” and/or “ugly” people, but it’s still discrimination and wrong.
I bought some shirts there once... very well made, quality cloth, traditional fit.
I wore them for nearly 10 years, and they still looked very good.
Now, it's all about extremely overpriced crap clothing sold to teenagers, who flock to buy it so long as it has the moose logo on it. A&F is the moose, right?
Yup. The bull moose logo is theirs. I had to laugh when A&F introduced its “pre-worn” line of “outdoor” clothing. Kids paying $25 for a pre-faded and tattered baseball cap for that true outdoors adventurer look. They couldn’t tell the difference between a wet or dry fly, but they had “the look.”
no pics ???
“Many are so stunning that they often parade topless, inside the store or on the pavement outside.”
I demand equal representation of stunningly beautiful topless female sales assistants!
When we walk by and A&F store in the mall I tell my 7 year old son that A&F is for girls and homo’s.
This is what happens when Gertrude Clydesdale is turned away.
Well, beauty is in the eye of the beholder, but ugly is pretty generally agreed upon.
