Inside the Beltway: Sarah Palin courts the farm vote
The Washington Times ^ | July 24, 2013 | Jennifer Harper

One can’t get much more grass roots than this: Sarah Palin is the keynote speaker Thursday at an agricultural “field day” near Baltic, S.D. — population 1,090 — situated on the scenic banks of the Big Sioux River in the eastern corner of the state. The former vice presidential candidate/potential U.S. Senate hopeful is going no-frills, however, journeying to the heartland accompanied by her youngest daughter.

“It’s an honor to get to travel with my entourage, er, that would be Piper, to be with those who are feeding the nation,” Mrs. Palin said in a Facebook post about the one-day event.

The goal of it all, say organizers Darren and Brian Hefty, who are both rural media moguls and farmers, is to showcase the best ways to raise crops. There’s a free lunch, a free supper and complimentary snack goodies. There’s a corn panel, a soybean panel, and forums on drainage laws, crops insurance and grain marketing. The kids’ area is crowded with games and giant inflatable toys.

---snip---

But it is a big deal, and the ever-canny former Alaska governor knows it. This particular field day is the largest in the Midwest, and Palin fans are many.

“Last year, we had farmers from 24 U.S. states and two Canadian provinces. So, if nothing else, if you just talk to farmers all day, you ought to get a pretty good idea what the crop is like everywhere else,” the pair of genial hosts say.....

My experience with farmers is you aren’t gonna win their vote unless you agree to continue with crop supports and big Federal subsidies.

Other than that, they talk a pretty good game about being Conservatives.

Bingo. Actually Sarah would make better gains speaking in public (with security of course) to crowds of inner city blacks, and explaining to them in plain language how they are being used and lied to. All it takes are a few receptive ears to send ripples throughout their community, while simultaneously going after barry’s base. A twofer.

Interesting venue. Here's a website for more info; http://www.agphd.com.

Should Governor Palin wish to expand her regional exposure, an appearance at the Central States Fair in Rapid City, SD would be a wonderful fit!

Ping to Sarah's Awesome List!

Federal Money is like Crack Cocaine, get a group hooked, you see how nasty they can get if you take it away from them.

And no group is exempt.

That is why you need some with a TON of integrity to start rolling it back. (Sarah being a Prime Example)

I Pray Sarah inspires the Farmers.

Make farming tax free instead of giving the ones you like and contribute back to you a federal handout

I like that idea,

How about we deep six Federal Income Tax (and any Property Taxes) for good.

You wanna talk about stimulus.

Lets talk about that one.

Or anyone who stands up to them.

That is why the GOP-E hates us. and Sarah for standing up to them.

The Crony Capitalism in Alaska was/is as dirty as you could think.

And that is why (IMHO) why so many long knives came out for Sarah.

But it is not just her alone, anyone who even dares speak up, the Media try's their best to pollute their image in the mind of the Ignorant American.

"Federal Money is like Crack Cocaine, get a group hooked, you see how nasty they can get if you take it away from them."

Sarah is hitting them in the bread basket. It is why I have my tag line, "The opium of Communists: other people's money." It is my take on the often quoted phrase, "Religion is the opium of the people." Wealth redistribution is a religion too. Of course, people like Karl Marx would never let people in on what they are really up to. It is what Sarah and I can agree on: They are about taking from the producers and giving to the non-producers in order to buy power (the opium). The ultimate results we are seeing in Detroit.

The late Conservative / Libertarian Talk Show host in South East Michigan, Mark Scott, used to be on a screed that Coleman Young used to brag he was the biggest Commie in the MidWest...

Well lookie here, Trevor Loudon has done his homework and says yes he was...

There is a HUGE Ag Convention/Machinery Expo held annually in Tulare, Calif.

Sarah needs to give a speech there.

Make farming tax free instead of giving the ones you like and contribute back to you a federal handout””””

ELIMINATE the estate taxes & farmers & ranchers will no longer have to sell their land to pay the ‘death taxes’.

That alone would save a massive portion of this country.

Sarah has my vote, and she is wise enough to be well prepared to speak to the farmers. Trust her judgment.
