So many in the church believe that modern wealth is the key reason for the loss of religion's influence among people.

Perhaps. Or what about a God Who is touted as loving and merciful but doesn't show up for work? Two-thousand years and counting. Waiting for Godot. I hope I'm wrong....

“Maybe you forget that it was God who guided the cardinals to elect Pope Francis who is needed at a time when the Gospel of Jesus not only has to be preached, but lived out?”

I’m sure Pope Francis will be a very decent Pope. I hope he doesn’t give undue emphasis to “social justice” if it means redistribution of the wealth in the socialist definition of the words. I would prefer it was still Pope Benedict XVI. I liked his philosophy and approach as Pope. But that isn’t to be, so Pope Francis it is. I wish him a long and happy period as Pope. I think all the recent Popes have not only preached but also practiced what they preached.

social justice is a specific terminology used by the left...you can try and snark around it but it is not unlike referring to the preaching of the ‘social gospel’.

Everything that these rabid anti-Catholics hate is “pure Communism”. The Pope’s job is to look out for the poor. Like the anti-Catholics sometime hero Jesus did. I also doubt that “social justice” (translated from what language?) spoken by the Pope has the same meaning as when it is spoken by the likes of Bill Ayers and his puppets in the White Hut.

Wow, nice deflection.

Sorry, I don't get it.
Elucidate if you want. I don't care if you do or not.

“Catholic social ministry begins and ends with Jesus Christ,” he said. “If it doesn’t, it isn’t Catholic.”

Do you trust Al Reuters, or what’s between the quotes?

“culture of solidarity” ... “selfishness and individualism”
“No one can remain insensitive to the inequalities that persist in the world,”

Has anybody been overcome by the presence of God in a NON Charismatic Catholic Church? I believe the answer is no, or at least rare in 2013

Am referring to a article at Drudge were the Pope says Bishop`s need to go outside the Church buildings to were the people are...Great idea but if the Bishop does not even know Jesus, he will have no idea what to say to the people he finds.

The Bishop needs to be lead by the Holy Spirit before he can be a instrument for God

Also said the Pope was admitting that the Church was losing many to the Charismatic Catholic movement.

The Holy Spirit is in the Charismatic Churches, but am afraid HE may have almost left the normal Catholic Church

Bishop`s do not have the courage to even say that people that vote for abortion and gay marriage are separated from God by their sins

Jesus will have nothing to do with such people

Until people get on their knees, invite Jesus in to be Lord of their life, and turn from their sins, there is not much hope

Why even bother wasting your time at such a church? If that is your lot in life, you might just as well eat drink and be be merry, because that is NOT acceptable

Has the Pope ever accepted Christ in his heart? I have no idea
