Some of the most influential members of the Congressional Black Caucus are in Chicago hosting an emergency National Summit on Violence. The goal is simple to come up with new ideas on how to reduce shootings that plague Americas cities and nowhere is the problem more serious than here in Chicago.
During her introductory speech, California Representative Maxine waters discussed the need to focus on high school dropouts.
Rep. Maxine Waters (CA-43) Were not simply talking about summer jobs programs, were talking about how do we embrace them, get them back into school. Look for jobs at the right places.
Mayor Emmanuel attended the first hour of the summit, thanking his former colleagues in congress for bringing national attention to the city of Chicago.
We will not rest until Roseland as safe, he said, South Shore as safe as Sauganash, that is commitment we need to make in city of Chicago
Congressman Bobby Rush says curbing gun violence in Chicago isnt just about passing new laws- he says nothing will get done without the help of parents and community support groups.
We cant legislate our way out of it. We gotta be wise about it, so we can get out of it, he said.
Reverend Jesse Jackson spent his time discussing grave statistics that cast a dark cloud over Chicagos minority communities, saying We need money for poverty and health care for the sick, we do not need more police we need more teachers
Should learn how to lay a brick and not throw a brick.
Also known as the anti-Second Amendment “Summit”. It’s becoming more and more obvious why the Nazis decided to use this Martin fiasco as a back door way to Nazi style gun control.
Don’t be fooled.
New ideas = more and more gun control
Maxine and Jesse: once again, both gunning for the ‘Crazy As A Peach-Orchard Boar’ prize.
Two loons enter. One loon leave.
Rather than take a truthful look at black culture, militance, violence, drug use, immorality, ignorance, and hate, these leaders will look at ways to destroy the rights and freedoms of everyone else. Arm yourselves.
blaming guns for violence is just stupid
IOW...."several of the most hate-filled, lowest IQ racists in the country......"
I believe it is a new affliction labeled “Race Degrangement Syndrome”. Characterized by an inordinate amount of paranoia that “whitey” is out to git cha. Also a sense of entitlement for actions taken against your kin hundreds of years ago and something that you never experienced yourself. Kind of brings a tear to your eye doesn’t it?
I’m guessing virtually every one of the big name attendees arrived and departed the conference covered by armed guards.
I’ve got a great idea.
Why don’t they just ban the guns?
If they just ban the guns, and make it so people in Chicago can’t have guns, then nobody can use them to shoot each other.
I don’t know why nobody thought of this before.
You had a teachable moment with Trayvon, you jackass. You could have said that Trayvon chose the black thug path of drugs, crime and violence and died because of it. Instead, Jesse plays right along with the St. Skittles meme and allows the teachable moment to rot on the vine.
Contemptable.
Hey, and ban drugs too, so no one is selling or using them.
We could outlaw crime...then only criminals would commit them.
DK
Victims of CRIMINALS!!!!!! behind guns..........crickets
Wow! Yes!!!
This is SOOOOOOO... INSPIRATIONAL!
Wow. If they just did those two things - ban guns and ban drugs - it would solve all their problems!!!!!!!!!!
I'm going to write them a letter telling them this is the solution.
We've done it! Yay!
I just don't know no one ever thought of this before.
New ideas = more and more gun control
And demands for more money from Uncle Sugar.
And there's another solution!
Okay. We've got a 3-step program here to solve Chicago's problems.
1. Ban guns.
2. Ban drugs.
3. Make crime illegal.
Man. I'm gonna MOVE to Chicago when this is all done.
