Sarah Palin was the only one taking it to Obama before the 2008 election. Sarah Palin was the only one trying to energize the conservative base. McCain sure wasn’t. McCain was too busy talking about what a great guy Obama was and how he would be a good president (weeks before the election!).. suppresses the vote of his own party in the process.
You’re blaming Sarah for handing the nation over, but she is one of the only ones who will stand up and tell the truth about Obama. And as one of the others just stated, if you couldn’t see through it without being told, you have only yourself to blame.

There is NO one like Sarah when it comes to being truthful and upfront and damned the media and the Rove elitist in the process.
She is ALWAYS on target and I’m sure the wimpy GOP men in DC are in a fetal position all huddled together listening to her. She’s a far cry from those candidates in the debates who were hell bent on trashing Perry and Newt while idiot voters were choosing their flavor of the week which were ‘999’, ‘the protector’, ‘the LIAR’, ‘the one who took it for the team’, ‘the big dreamer’ - they were part of the ‘BIG GOPe SET UP’ that led to the obama win and the voters were clueless to their tactics. They were too focused on ‘anyone but Newt’ just like the GOPe wanted them to be.

I am not back peddling. I think Mrs. Palin is more concerned about herself, her prestige, than about the true well fare of the people.
I think that if it was other wise she would have jeopardized her place in the election and divulged all the information she had on Obama and his associates when it really mattered.

Um, I just listened to the full interview with Greta, and you're overstating your case. She knew there were problems, Rev Wright, Bill Ayers, etc., and she wanted to talk about them. But I didn’t see anywhere she said she “had the goods” on Obama, as if to infer she knew all his darkest secrets and had knowledge of everything bad thing that would follow if he won.
I did hear her say the McCain campaign consultants told her that bringing up Obama’s dirty laundry was a losing strategy because the media would turn it against them. From her earliest days in Wasilla, Sarah has always been about team play. She doesn't second-guess the coach, because the idea is to win, and the coach is supposed to know how to do that. She may have assumed a national election had to be played with more caution, because you can't win on local retail politicking, so she did what any person who respected authority would do. She subjugated her own judgment to that of those who were in charge.
As a matter of character, this subjection to authority is to her credit. She is first of all a Christian, and Christians are supposed to trust God to work through authority, even when that authority is less than perfect. God is sovereign. She could not know all the possible consequences of a particular strategic decision, particularly where she lacked the national campaign experience. So she trusted the outcome to God, and God can always be trusted to do the right thing, even if it doesn’t seem very good at the moment.
So I think your argument is meritless.
As to whether the fate of the party rests in her hands alone, no one I know is saying that, no one here is saying that, and she certainly isn’t saying that. In fact, her message from early on is it’s going to take all of us pulling together to overcome this situation, that each of us can make a real difference, no matter how small our role appears to be.
Ever the team player, she is. So why would anyone on our side, who actually wants to win the game, try to diminish the value of one of the only players we have on the court who can actually score points against a very difficult opposition? That would be a strategy for losing, No?
Yeah..daaaa! if they had won..our ticket, the nation would have won! You are being unduly contentious for some reason.
I did not watch the interview and I can not fault your opinion.
But Sarah went “rogue” a long time ago.

She started to talk about her 2008 campaign - things her handlers wouldn't let her say.
Then the sound went off for about 10 - 15 seconds.
Then it happened again about 2 minutes later.
Did anybody else see that? Was she cut?
What was it that she said during that time - what did the handlers tell her to keep quiet?
I had the same thing happen here in Indy. She was letting Rove and the GOP have it and the sound blanked out two times. The screen went black for a few seconds too.
I laughed because I figured they didn’t want her to speak even now.
Western culture has always allowed participation by women - it's one of the attributes that helped us lead the world to modernity.
