Your points are well taken and I might add/ask, didn’t Spitzer actually prosecute men for the same crimes he was committing?
I don’t now if Spitzer ever prosecuted anyone for breaking the laws against prostitution, but perhaps on some wire transfer crimes. He was a super aggressive prosecutor and someone posted the other day that if he were to be elected comptroller of NYC he’d probably use that position to continue his vendetta against Wall Street. So, on top of all his other failings it would be like hiring the butcher to tend the golden goose.
I know you’re not supposed to pimp your blog here, but I did write a post about this and it has a lot of links that I think give the background pretty well.

But you know, I wrote that whole thing and never until today did I think about how Sanford and Spitzer both really committed adultery while Weiner has not. But you know, it’s their failing their public obligations that really tick me off.
