Palin: McCain Campaign Banned Me From Talking About Obama - 'Media Would Eat Us Alive'
NewsBusters.org ^ | July 27, 2013 | Noel Sheppard

Posted on 07/27/2013 8:28:34 AM PDT by TexasCajun

Former vice presidential candidate Sarah Palin said Friday that the McCain campaign in 2008 prevented her from talking about Barack Obama's controversial background or his lack of job experience for fear "the media would eat us alive."

Fox News's Greta Van Susteren responded by saying, "I think at some point [people are] going to look at us in the media and think we're just a bunch of fools. We don't have any credibility anyway"

SARAH PALIN: The only fans that aren't going to bail on this stall play that we're all observing is still the media, the mainstream media. They're going to stick with this because they're part of the problem, and it's going to be to the detriment of the profession of journalism, and it will be to the detriment of a free America as we know it!

And we saw what happened back in 2008 -- I believe that's when it started -- when the media decided to just go along to get along with Obama, ingratiating themselves with him and vice versa. What we saw was these attempts to destroy the whistleblowers, those who were telling the truth even in the campaign, those who were bringing up the name Jeremiah Wright and the racist church that he leads that Obama was a member of for over 20 years.

Oh, yeah. McCain doesn’t care about the media eating some patriot alive, just himself.

He was a trouble student at the Naval Academy. The spoiled son of an Admiral.

He was shot down in one of his first missions over NVN and spent the rest of the war in jail.

He never led a squadron of guys, not even a flight, most likely.

He does not know how to do anything except live on the edge of trouble.

That’s it.

He is no gentleman.

He is a destructive force in America

What DUMBASS rinos and the republican party just do not get is the MSM will go after them NO MATTER WHAT! You can not deal with scumbags in the MSM under any circumstance because most of them are lying DEMOCRAT prix!

I've never seen a bunch whimpier ass people than republicans! State your case, stand up for what is right no matter how unpopular, and tell everyone who does not agree to go pound sand! Win or lose a campaign on principle, but at least people know you are not a fake ass punk...like oh say, McCain! Does anybody have a shred of respect for this clown!?

Anyone who worries about “the Media eating them alive” is not worthy to be President. Of course, we all know that if the NWO Puppermaster/string pullers don’t annoint you, you won’t get the nomination aided & abetted by our traitorous Media. Dole, Bush 1 & 2, McCain, Romney are all part of the problem, so could never have been the solution.

McCain was, is, and forever shall be a shill for the “Divine One.” The good people of Arizona should be ashamed of their support for the vermin!!!!!!!!!!

I don’t read any of the Lib websites, so don’t know if that already happens. I know the Libs put their crap on many of my conservative, patriot sites. Good strategy, JimRed.

Reagan was not a wimp.

That’s it.

And that’s what it is that will win any general election.

Romney’s campaign was over the second the very second, beyond return, he apologized for the 47% remark.

No gonads.

People won’t follow that. Not the conservative base.

Not that they would all see it this particular way, but they all need to see someone look like they can and will or even could protect and defend anything, not to mention the Constitution.

Reagan did that.

It’s so simple I could just qu

While the media was liberal back in Reagan’s day, and even before that, they weren’t fully invested in leftism as they are today. Some semblance of journalistic integrity, long since gone, was actually practiced at the time.

Right church, but the wrong pew, Greta. History will not call the media fools; they’ll correctly call you TRAITORS, right up there with Bennedict Arnold and the Rosenbergs. I’m planning to take a road trip and urinate on some graves.....Walter Cronkite, both Huntley & Brinkley and Peter Jennings, for openers. Tom Brokaw, Chrissy Matthews, Joe Scarborough, Bill Maher, et al, are on a waiting list.

McCain only says bad things about Republicans. If the media are fools, McCain is their fool.

I wish she had gone “rogue” earlier. Simply talk about Jeremiah Wright and say his “racist, anti-American church” in a stump speech, and ask Obama openly why he allowed this racist to marry him and baptize his daughters? What would McCain have done? What COULD he have done? Banned her from speaking? Nonsense. It would have helped and they would have seen it doing so. Then again, I don’t mourn this as I firmly believe John McCain IS “Raymond Shaw” - a dangerous, programmed enemy of America.

"Fox News's Greta Van Susteren responded by saying, "I think at some point [people are] going to look at us in the media and think we're just a bunch of fools. We don't have any credibility anyway"

Therein lies the truth of many of our Country's problems - the PC biased media. History, if there is any, will prove Greta correct. I was watching CNN just to get their slant on the Zimmerman trial and have in the last few days.

While Fox News has gone on to other matters, when I switch back to CNN, they are still talking about the Zimmerman thing with some juror coming out saying she thinks Zimmerman "murdered" St. Skittles. Same ole, same ole.

Reagan spoke directly to the people and connected. Also, he didn’t criticize Republicans. He was worth listening to, much like Palin.

During the Dem primaries, recall when Team Obama played the race card against Hillary?

Team Obama also indicated they would do the same to McCain, if McCain seemed to be gaining ground. McCain was in so much fear of being charged as a racist that that cowered him.

That is how community organizers organize.

And there are other issues related to the Zimmerman case which are not politically correct to talk about.

One is that his grieving mother had not raised Trayvon full time since he was 2 years old. You frequently see the two parents together, but they have not been a couple in many years. Trayvon’s dad was also not involved in raising his son full time.

Trayvon had been in trouble in school and in trouble with the law. He was clearly a gang banger in training.

The media paints a certain picture of a story. And they won’t show other evidence such as Trayvon’s gang like pictures. They showed the picture of him as a 13 year old constantly.

And a major big lie was that he was shot because he was black, that Zimmerman racially profiled him. Very hard to believe that you are thinking of the race of the person who is bashing your head in, when that is happening to you.

Ayn Rand wrote about the media in the ‘30s when she wrote “Fountainhead”, which predicted exactly what is happening.

That's what I thought. Read Ann Coulter's Treason. The press in the 1950s were totally in the bag for the Soviet Union. So was Harry Truman, by the way. There was a little resistance to the 1960s rads in the mid-1960s that I recall. By Reagan's day they were unanimous in their Lefty worship, but they reported what Reagan actually said, which let Reagan talk over their heads to the American people.

Today, under a Republican President, I'm not sure they'd even do that. We saw them suppress and not cover various addresses of President Bush. But what shocked me was reading about the 1950s press. More lock-step with the Reds than they were, even in Reagan's era.

I sometimes wonder how Reagan won two landslide elections.

Ronald Reagan never worried about what the elite thought of him; indeed, he went right around the press and spoke directly to the American people.

Of course, he had core values that he believed in, values that went beyond being liked and getting elected.
