Bill Ayers, reincarnated ACORN ask United Nations to intervene in Chicago school closings
The Daily Caller ^ | July 27, 2013

Posted on 07/27/2013 9:29:29 AM PDT by george76

Noted American terrorist and left-wing radical Bill Ayers is among the signatories of a letter calling on the United Nations to probe the closing of 49 Chicago elementary schools based on claims that it is causing massive human rights violations.

...

In 2009, the Chicago City Council passed a resolution adopting the international body’s Convention on the Rights of the Child, notes WBEZ. The resolution instructed all city agencies to develop policies consistent with it.

Kalantry told the public radio station that the nation and the city must now act in accordance with these covenants.

...

The Chicago Teachers Union, which staged a strike last fall for higher wages and to protect employees from layoffs, has been furious about the closings. In June, union president Karen Lewis gave a blistering speech excoriating racism and ‘rich white people’ for the financial crisis facing the city’s schools.

How is it that rich white people are the cause of problems of Chicago schools?

Are rich white people who don’t live in Chicago supposed to give more money? What does she want to see happen?

Anyone who believes that Rahm Emmanuel and Karen Lewis were at odds in this debacle is delusional. If it were to come out that Bill Ayers sat at the table with them I would not be the least surprised.

The left is intent on grinding out any opposition to indoctrination, and as history shows, is not above sacrificing a few generations of children to get there.

A circle of hell is set aside for these monsters.

Why not ask about black on black murders in Chicago?

Yes, I know the reason...

Americans are tired of seeing their taxpayer dollars thrown into these sewers. Let Bill Ayers, ACORN, the Chicago “Teachers” Union and the UN subsidize these sewers.

The seeds of this travesty were laid early:

"In 2009, the Chicago City Council passed a resolution adopting the international body’s Convention on the Rights of the Child, notes WBEZ. The resolution instructed all city agencies to develop policies consistent with it."

Actually, they have come up with a plan to tax people in the suburbs to pay for inner city schools. I haven’t seen it implemented anywhere yet, but it involves special redrawn districts that include areas where people are better off and purchasing their homes.

They don’t miss a trick...

From what I have heard, some of our big city school districts spend more per capita on education than many suburban or small town school districts. Yet for all the money they spend, many of our big city school districts get some of the worst results.

This is all anecdotal evidence, but, it does suggest that lack of money is not really the biggest problem facing big city schools.

If somehow the UN feels that Chicago is violating UN standards, and school officials say they need more money, perhaps the UN can give them more money???

ya, let Bill Ayers contribute whatever he wants to the schools, if he feels they need more money.

It’s interesting to hear that conservatives tend to give more money to charity than liberals do. All things being equal, wealthy conservatives contribute much more than wealthy liberals do. I’ve heard the difference is, that conservatives are happy to contribute to charities of their choice, whereas liberals think government should do the charitable work. So the liberals see no need to contribute to charity. They see no need for charitable organizations to exist, because, in a liberal utopian world, government would take care of everything.

Why is it that Bill Clinton said the era of big government is over, but Obama has presided over a big expansion of government programs and control over us? Just wondering.

Yet another reason to get the US out of the UN and the UN out of the US.

This one page sheet seems to validate your claim for some schools. For others it doesn’t.

Your point is valid. Spending is not the key factor IMO.

Single parent and latch key kids have some real problems. Some parents just don’t care.

Apart from home at night with his mother’s boyfriend, a Chicago public school could be the most dangerous place for a child. It should be a human rights violation to make a child attend a Chicago public school.
