Texas Rangers RHP Tanner Scheppers was not available in Friday’s extra-inning loss to Cleveland because he was dealing with the after-effects of being attacked by “several young males,” on a street two blocks from the team hotel Thursday night.
Scheppers said he was out getting food Thursday night when he was attacked and “sucker-punched.” He did not recall the time, but did contact the police. A report was not filed after Scheppers said police told him it was unlikely that anybody would be apprehended.

Let me guess: He was out at night and he is white, right?
it’s just a game young people play ,insane
Did the attackers look like Obama’s son?
Haven’t seen this yet in national news. I wonder why?/s
Is this how the Dallas PD keeps its crime stats down?
There might be video footage, etc. around and they should at least pretend to investigate it. He's young and fit, but what are they going to say when these thugs kill some older innocent victim? There's no point in the police investigating because they might not find the thugs? Heck, that's true in any case, but you still have to investigate.
Feral Urban Animals playing the knockout game?
Let me guess:
His assailants were returning home from buying candy and a drink at a local convenience store and thought this creepy ass cracka was following them and were fearful and were forced to strike first for their own safety.
Do I have the Trayvon strike first rule right.
Um, this happened in Cleveland. The knockout game is dangerous in well-armed Dallas...
Are you saying this Texas Rangers pitcher looks like a homosexual rapist?
I bet the Cleveland News has nothing about it.
only when/if you get caught.
What does your pal Sandusky say?
You been hittin the sauce today???
Eric Holder’s people? Obama’s son?
...guess they don't patrol "downtown"
He was guilty of “walking while cracker.”
Well, they were on their way home from buying Skittles and saw this creepy cracka looking suspicious I guess
My husband is scheduled for surgery at Cleveland Clinic next month, and we live several hundred miles away. This is going to require me to stay at a hotel for about a week, and walk to the hospital. I’m thinking of cancelling and looking for a safer hospital.
I don’t blame you, but how many big cities are really all that different?
Ohio is one state where my CCW permit issued in Pennsylvania is not valid. I wouldn’t feel so vulnerable if I could take my little friend along.
I think they’ve done some ethnic cleansing around the Cleveland Clinic - it’s not as bad as it used to be. But I think I’d budget for a cab.
This happened in Cleveland.
No. Alcohol wrecks my LSD buzz. Sorry... I thought your previous post to me was meant as an insult, but I'm probably just being paranoid. Everybody thinks I'm paranoid. I can tell by the way they all look at me. They try to appear casual, but inside they're staring at me, and pointing, and calling me "paranoid".
Well one thing to keep in mind:
Just because you might be paranoid doesn’t mean that they’re not out to get you.
Oh, they’re out to get me.
You should see what they do to guys hitting in the 4th hole.
If Cleveland Clinic is anywhere near Euclid Avenue then I'd say yes, look elsewhere.
This Indians fan is sorry this happened, but you never go out in Cleveland by yourself, ever.
Er, the Clinic is ON Euclid Avenue.
I think its coming to that in every big city.
Go Choo! Go Choo!
(in Korean=”Red Pepper! Red Pepper!”)
Choo? Nope, they traded him to the Reds. lol
Oops. I didn’t know that... must have been recently?
If’n they did it for Trayvon, then it’s okay. It’s cultural, don’t ya know?
I read a little about Zimmerman. The guy did a lot of good things. he mentored kids, he volunteered to work to help stop thefts.
Funny thing if Zimmerman hadn’t been the guy charged with murder, he would be with the crowd that wants to hang him.
There’s no reason to cancel. I’ve been there twice for surgery. There’s a safe, free and convenient shuttle bus that runs almost constantly between the hospital and the on-campus hotels.
That’s the funny thing about irony. One never knows when it will jump up and bite oneself in the buttocks.(Said with best Forrest Gump accent as possible)
Sounds like them ‘gars are getting outahand...
I have been at the Cleveland Clinic twice during the past three years. There are several very convenient places to stay on the Clinic campus, one o which is attached by a sky-walk with the main Clinic hospital building,
There is no need to cancel surgery.
By the way, you chose an excellent place for care.
I would say that is probably one of the wiser moves that you will make in your life if you do. In fact, it may add to your birthdays. Stay far, far away from the zoo as possible. If the police are scared to go there, you sure don’t want to.
Final Score: The Trayvon Obamas 1, Texas Rangers 0
Go to Cleveland, pack heat.
Guess I should have said “East Cleveland”.
I had to go to a company just off of Lakeshore Blvd. and took Euclid to get there. Area looked somewhat similar to Detroit, if you know what I mean.
If he had been a REAL Texas Ranger, the population of Cleveland would have gone down by three.
You just blew my mind
