The Associated Press (AP) is refusing to comment on why it requested that the Montana Department of Justice (MDOJ) give it a list of the names and personal information of every concealed weapons permit (CWP) holder in the state...

Montana’s Republican Attorney General Tim Fox had denied requests by the AP and a Boston media outfit called MuckRock News for all information pertaining to the state’s CWP holders. Fox cited concerns that the width and breadth of the requests violated CWP holders’ “reasonable expectation of privacy” guaranteed by the Montana Constitution...

AP reporter Matt Gouras formally requested the information on March 18. “We’d like all public information included on each permit holder, including, but not limited to: last name, first name, middle, street address, city, employer, age or DOB, driver’s license number, date of application,”

The Associated Press & MuckRock News? Are they some type of gubmint agency to demand this type of information?

I am glad that Montana AG Tim Fox rejected this request, but I wish he had used some more colorful language in rejecting it. WTF? AP thinks they the right to demand this type of information? I would have told them in no uncertain terms to blow it out their a$$es!!!

Publish the age and address and help the criminals select the oldest, supposedly weakest victims. (Of course there can be surprising exceptions!)

Why don’t they go to Planned Parenthood and demand the names, ages, phone numbers and addresses of all women who have had ABORTIONS???

“Our sheriff has stated publicly and on the record he will destroy the database of cc permits before he would let it be turned over to anyone outside his office.”

If he keeps that database on a computer, chances are the government already has it and will just “leak” it to any leftist media outlet that wants to publish it.

Yeah, but in Montana. A state that is kind of in support of the 2nd Amendment.

I know that a few cities have been invaded by Californians, but I’m thinking that there isn’t too much shame in having a CCW or owning guns in that state.
