Reza Aslan, a religious scholar with a Ph.D. in the sociology of religions from the University of California and author of the new book, Zealot: The Life and Times of Jesus of Nazareth, went on FoxNews.coms online show Spirited Debate to promote his book only to be prodded about why a Muslim would write a historical book about Jesus.

She obviously didn't do this interview on her way home from a MENSA meeting.
No, last nights Geraldo interview with Marion Berey was easily the most embarrassing interview on Fox. Anyone else see it? A drunk Marion Barry dropping a “bullshit” and saying the government was trying to get him. I felt so sad for him.
Well, why would a muslim write a book about Jesus?
Notice that religions that view Jesus as their lord and savior are not out burning the flags of muslim countries or killing muslims in the name of God.
Don’t know about the book or it’s arguments, but still didn’t know more about the book from this interview.
Truthfully, it sounds like the producer wanted some controversy so told the newswoman to bang away at the one talking point about his Muslim-ness and ignored everything else.
Stupid television in persuit of ratings. Eh.
Goodness, that was awful.
Good question. Without having read the book (and I won't), the only thing I can think of is to compare Him to Mohame-dingdong, unfavorably, of course.
I feels somehow stupidder then i wuz after watching this innerview.
Seriously, this interviewer had a tunnel vision approach here and it seemed she did not even hear one word he said due to her agenda.
I don’t see why this is the most embarrassing interview. There are plenty of interviews which are worse.
He’s a muslim who is attacking Christianity while hiding behind a veil of his “4 degrees”.
A great question to hammer
If hammered right
Whats wrong with her agenda? The guy obviously had an agenda which was to push Islam and degrade Christianity.
It is a typical tactic of the pig lovers. Try going to Saudi and write a similar book about big Mo. They’ll have your head off faster then you can say sorry.
You felt sad for Marion Barry? He’s just another useless POS liberal. He should have been dead years ago.
You have that right! He begins by making a broad emphasis on his 4 degrees of superiority over a mere interviewer - this Azlan guy is so full of himself he probably kisses the mirror every morning to let him know someone still loves him.
Loren Green conducts a great interview!
Did I understand this Muslim to say he’s a PhD?
I, too, have a PhD, but never taut it like this fool did.
(Oh, no. I just touted it!)
But, wait. Did I tell you I am a scholar and a writer who has devoted over four decades to my research?
Well, I know I didn’t tell you that I’ve written a book about Mohammed and what a complete ass-ole and pedophile he was. His religion is garbage that today enjoys a wide discipleship of sub-human Neanderthal-like animals.
Go to Amazon and read the ‘Author’s Note’ with which he opens the book. He goes out of his way to leave the impression that he is still Christian and not again a Muslim. Pure and shameless deceit.
They believe that Jesus is the Messiah promised to the Jews. They are correct in that a broken clock with a second hand is right for 2 seconds a day.
Very few authors write a book for any reason other than to sell the book and make money. These authors will usually throw enough controversial information into their book to aggravate as many people as possible, as this aggravation will cause people to talk about their book and give it free advertisement.
I don’t know if that was the most embarrassing interview on FOX, but it was cringe-worthy... Stupid, obvious question... why shouldn’t he write a book on Jesus, the founder of Christianity?
