Reza Aslan, a religious scholar with a Ph.D. in the sociology of religions from the University of California and author of the new book, “Zealot: The Life and Times of Jesus of Nazareth,” went on FoxNews.com’s online show Spirited Debate to promote his book only to be prodded about why a Muslim would write a historical book about Jesus.

I saw off with his head. Perhaps when its legal to take a bible into Saudi Arabia or for a Christian to visit mecca I’ll cut them more slack.

The question points out his agenda.
The problem with her agenda is it was anti-intellectual. We learned nothing from the interview beyond her preconceived thoughts. There was no point in even having the interview and it was a waste of air time.
This guy was not a ‘Muslim attacking Christianity’. He was really no different than any other intellectual or pseudo-intellectual writing a book on the ‘historical Jesus’ or producing a National Geographic TV special. There are dozens and dozens of these books written each year by ‘religious scholars’.
They believe Jesus “was” a prophet.
They do not believe he is the Son of God or that he is Risen.

Well he is a Muslim and he was attacking Christianity using a tired old argument which Muslims use. An argument which has been disproved according to the Interviewer.
The book trashes Jesus... basically says he wasn't the son of God. New York Times loved it - they forgot to mention it was written by a Muslim...(most of the ideas in the book are rehashed myths that float around the ME)
The obvious reason a Muslim writes a book about Jesus is to trash Jesus and Christianity. Muslims are not leaders in the intellectual honesty area.
If he were honest he would write a book explaining Mo’s desire for children, murder, theft, and animals.
Jews don’t believe that Jesus was the Son of God either. That doesn’t make them bad.
Why would a Christian write a book about mohamhead? Who cares?
But I won’t be reading his book. He’s still a muslim. I’ve read the quran and know all I need to know about the filth that’s called islam.

The point of the interview is to present the interviewees case, ask relevant questions to bring out more information and let the listener decide. The interviewer never let this take place as it was clearly...we..lets just say
This interview was sad in that it used the same methodology of every interview of a Republican you see on PMSNBC.

That's the difference - if a Jew had written a book about Jesus it would be mentioned it in the forward... or on the back dust cover. A Jew would not pretend he was a Christian coming to anit-Christian conclusions.
Think of a Muslim writing a book about how horrible Israel was - while pretending to be an Israeli ... that comes closer to what we're experiencing.

That fact trumps all arguments re; Christ and establishes other “religions” as false.
Islam acknowledges Jesus as a perfect man and a prophet. They just don’t accept that He is God’s Son. They cannot accept that God would allow His Son to be treated that way, so they believe he ascended into heaven, bypassing that whole crucifixion thingie.
If a Muslim wrote a book trashing Islam a fatwa would be put out on him. Salman Rushdie could speak to that...
