Man says 'stand your ground' law saved his life (Jury acquitted in 3 minutes)

JACKSONVILLE, Fla. -- Just about 24 hours ago, a local man didn't know if he would be leaving the Duval County Courthouse a free man.

He faced three years in prison on an aggravated assault charge. His attorney said he simply stood his ground. And Thursday, a jury agreed.

The charge stemmed from a May 2011 confrontation in the parking lot of the Jacksonville Beach Pier. A local man was left beaten and bloody after a fist fight.

He pulled his gun and was arrested. But his attorney, Lee Lockett, says that should have never happened.

"My client was simply trying to get through the parking lot. He was viciously attacked by the alleged victim," he said.

The case went to trial this week, where Lockett says he was able to prove this was a clear case of self-defense, a case where his client stood his ground. He never fired his weapon.

“Not much of a DA/prosecutor team though. Why in the world did they ever charge him?’

Jacksonville is Angela Corey’s home turf.

Politicians hate it when their slaves defend their lives when the criminal element try to take them. To any politician, at one time I thought that there were some honest ones but reality has beaten that thought from my mind, the only life they consider sacred is theirs. The lives of their consequents , in their minds, their slaves, are important only as it pertains to their votes.

But then again, who can blame them? The voters elected a, to use the term loosely, a man to The House of Representatives who sends photos of his ding dong far and wide. Perhaps to some of the mothers, daughters, wives, and in this day and age fathers and sons. And the chances are better than good that they will elect him Mayor of New York City. Before that, they elected a President that did not know the meaning of truth, but he knew how to get a blow job in the Oval Office. And now we have the current occupier of the White House. An individual that no one in the voting population knew anything about. An individual who has told the truth less than a dozen times in his lifetime and some of them included: I will transform America; I will regulate the coal industry out of existence; in time of trouble I will side with the muslims. Yet the voters put him in the White House not once but twice.

Upon further review and consideration, I, with very few exceptions, have come the politicians' point of view as far as the voters are concerned.

I’m going to switch back to carrying a .357.If I do have to shoot,I’ll look around for witnesses. If there are none,I’ll simply walk away.

More and more folk have decided this is the way to be. Makes sense when the feral state will attack anyone who attempts to defend himself.

They don’t teach who, what, where and when any more in journalism school. They teach “compassion” in some dialect of Turkish evidently.

I think they should move to a non Indo-European language. ;)

A revolver is also a lot more reliable in a tight spot like the one between martin and Zimmerman. One of the pictures of Zimmerman’s weapon showed it had jammed by failing to eject the cartridge.
