What’s ‘Phony’ Is Obama’s Economy
PJ Media ^ | 7/28/13 | Tom Blumer

During his one-hour, six-minute snoozer of a speech supposedly about the economy in Galesburg, Illinois, on Wednesday, President Barack Obama denounced Washington’s “endless parade of distractions and political posturing and phony scandals.”

“Phony”?

The rest of the president’s speech was so utterly devoid of new ideas that even ordinarily reliable apparatchik Chuck Todd at MSNBC couldn’t handle it, aptly observing of Obama and his administration: “They have nothing new to say.”

Obama, whose flunkies presented his speech as yet another “pivot” back to jobs and the economy, didn’t even identify employment growth as his top priority. Instead, he said that it was reducing income and wealth inequality (“reversing these trends has to be Washington’s highest priority”). That’s pretty funny, because his administration’s policies, in coordination with Fed Chairman Ben Bernanke’s “quantitative easing,” now simply known as “stimulus,” have driven recent increases in those inequalities.

Let’s address those supposedly “phony” scandals.

“Scandal” is defined as “a disgraceful or discreditable action.”

Disgraceful or discreditable actions define this administration’s everyday modus operandi. Its contemptuous conduct has generated far too many genuine scandals to address in a single column. While recognizing that certain older scandals, particularly Operation Fast & Furious and Benghazi, are more serious because innocent people died as a result, I will only address the three which broke this past spring.

Go to members of the press — but first get them individually behind closed doors with guaranteed anonymity, because they apparently can’t publicly admit that they disagree with anyone in the Obama administration without losing their precious “access,” let alone their credibility among their peers. Ask them one by one if they believe that Eric Holder, who signed the search warrant for Fox News reporter James Rosen’s private emails, lied under oath

As I’ve said before, the War on Income Inequality has been fought since Day One. Income redistribution schemes have never worked in the long run, but still the attempts persist. Obozo’s view of the world is that the economic pie is static and the only way for the middle class to get more income is to take it away from those who have more.

Idiot.

If he really wanted to increase income levels for the middle class, what he should concentrate on is economic growth. If your slice of the pie is only 10%, but the pie doubles in size, your income doubles as well. True, the income gap may remain the same, but which is more important: 1) a higher income with a high standard of living for everyone, or 2) Obozo’s “Catching Up With the Jones”? But, the rising-tide-lifts-all-boats approach is just to complex for liberals to understand.

Alas, a thoughtful fiscal and monetary policy makes this less difficult than what Stupid is trying to do...and is failing miserably in the effort.

Despite the lies about unemployment and they way the numbers are estimated (never exactly calculated), all the prime indicators of how well the economy is doing aren’t tied to everyday commodities, food, gas, lodging.

All of these have gone up significantly under Obama’s rule, but his government lackey’s have taken to “sleight of numbers” like a duck to water.. Lies, and ore lies.

Meat, bacon, eggs, milk, staple foods, Gas, taxes - anything a normal peon has to pay have all gone up -substantially.

Services from basic needs like telephone landlines have innumerable surtaxes and fees heaped upon them (my most recent phone bill has 10 line item taxes or fees for the phone and 4 for the internet). House and car insurance has gone up 15% (they say Sandy, but it’s Obama and his frigging rules)

Leisure services like DirectV, Dish, cable, lawn services, alarm services, etc have all increased significantly under him.

This whole government is all one big, fantastically morose egregious LIE that heaps its entitlement costs on businesses that force them to pass these costs off on real workers, real Americans.

The two stats that stick out for me:

1. The average wage earner actually makes less than when Bambi took office.
2. There are fewer actual jobs than when he took office almost five years ago.

Those alone make this the worst post world war II recovery ever. By far.

Courtesy of the devaluation of the dollar. If we lose the reserve status of the dollar, and I think we will, things will get much worse and much quicker than any politician will admit.

Listen to news accounts. They use words like ‘seem’, ‘appear’, ‘hopefully’, ‘trend’ (dubious at best), ‘unexpected’ (entirely too frequently), and many other weasel words designed to dance around the truth.

They are all still lies and the only indicators that could give insight into the economy (like the stock market and T-bill sales) are being fraudulently influenced by $85 billion per month infusions by the Fed using electronic worthless debt scrip.

It is being devalued by the Fed printing up $85 billion per month in worthless electronic scrip and buying up $45 Billion per month in T-bills (how effed up is that?) and pumping another $40 billion into the market.

Couple that with the extra $1.03 trillion the government is handing out in over 85+ entitlement programs (not associated with SS or Medicaid) to over 100 million so-called Americans and illegals. There in not one red cent of real value backing any of that Trillion dollars.

The most difficult problem we will have in the future: If the economy ever does boom again, because of all the printing that has been done, inflation will finally kick in hard, destroying confidence, and the next recovery.

Before the Reagan boom, they had to deal with inflation, extending the recession, laying the ground for sustainable growth. This will be even harder now.

The Washington Times reports:

"Under Reagan, adult black unemployment fell by 20 percent, but under Mr. Obama, it has increased by 42 percent.

"Black teenage unemployment fell by 16 percent under Reagan, but has risen by 56 percent under Mr. Obama.

"The increase in unemployment rates has been far worse for blacks under Mr. Obama than for whites and Hispanics.

"Inflation-adjusted real incomes are slightly higher for Hispanics and whites than they were in 2008, but are lower for blacks.

"The labor force participation rate has fallen for all groups, but remains far lower for blacks than for whites and Hispanics."

And if you think black unemployment is high now, wait til the full tornado of Obama's Open Borders/Amnesty program collapses all the structures and break every bone in the black community.

If I were an angry black person, knowing what I know about Obama's brutally cynical policies, I'd ... I can't say it, it would get me banned from Free Republic.
