Sky News ^ | July 29, 2013

Staff at well known chains including McDonald's, Burger King, KFC and Wendy's were due to walk out on Monday in New York, Chicago, Detroit, Milwaukee, St Louis, Kansas City and Flint, Michigan.

They are calling on fast food restaurants to pay $15 per hour, which compares to the New York state average pay of $8.25 per hour and the minimum wage of $7.25.

The action is being organised by Fast Food Forward, a movement of employees from fast food outlets in New York City aimed at raising wages and increasing workers' rights

Sorry, any middle aged “man” who is still working at a fast food restaurant as anything but a manager or owner isn’t a man. He certainly isn’t providing for his family or paying for his way.

Just look at what cities aare involved. heavily unionized and for the most part in extreme financial trouble. Wonder what they would do if all those fast food places just closed their doors and left those cities?

Yep, McDonald’s, Burger King, KFC and Wendy’s. Can’t remember the last time I walked into any of those. I prefer Chic-fil-a, Zaxbys and Five guys burgers anyway.

I used to avoid Panera because the local frnachise was so obviously staffed by libtards, they could not keep their politics out of serving customers.

But then I heard the Panera owner and founder was a good christian and supporter of conservative causes

I think I will write him a letter asking if he would approve of this behavior

I propose that everyone avoid fast food places altogether. Brown bag a healthy lunch and solve two problems at the same time. Have healthier food and eliminate those low paying jobs!

Meet Baxter, total hourly cost to own and operate: $5/hour and dropping. Baxter speaks proper English, doesn't take breaks, sleep, call in sick, sue, need healthcare, or spit in whitey's food.

Invader and other cheap foreign labor create too much supply for minimum wage jobs. Besides that, these places used to get their cheap labor from part time students and moms, now they have people who are surviving off their wages. The solution isn’t $15 an hour, but it also isn’t the situation we have now.

These idiots are wasting their time. The GOP is about ready to turn 30 to 50 million illegal “valedictorians” loose on the job market this fall with their “comprehensive” amnesty dream “reform” bill. These jerks need to stop worrying about a raise and worry about keeping their jobs.

Tip of the iceberg.

As the economy continues in Obamastall mode and people don’t see any next rungs on the ladder to grasp, they will inevitably radicalize and turn their energies towards squeezing everything they can possibly get out of their current job.

My thoughts exactly. It's not it's difficult to find someone to push some buttons on a register and say, "You want fries with that?"

Don’t forget the following:

- No tattoos
- No fishhooks and other fishing gear stuck in the lips, nose and elsewhere
- Doesn’t grope the guests or other co-workers
- You can say anything you want to it when it breaks down, and it doesn’t sue
- Doesn’t spit in the food when it gets offended
- Can be taught

What these idiots fail to understand is that they must produce at least $15 of revenue per hour worked just to pay their wage. To do this a business could fire half of them and make the remaining half work like dogs or raise prices so much the business would fail and they would lose their jobs not to mention their friends and relatives working in related businesses who as a result might lose theirs too.

This is pure street agitator economics... the man you work for has all kinds of money...it's just not in your pockets.

Yep. I would.

If they force McD's, etc to pay $15/hour, they'll be let go anyway. So the end result is the same.

The economy sucks, especially for blacks. You take what you can. Or would you rather, for him to prove his “manhood,” have him quit his job entirely and go on 100% welfare? Would that make him a “man” in your eyes?

So pull back the covers, what do you find? Here’s what I bet an actual reporter would find out - almost everyone they took a picture of are union employees at other types of business. This has little to do with ‘worker rights’ and everything to do with organizing service employees. It is the ‘Walmart Strikes’ all over again, where non-employees ‘walk out’ of the business, trying to entice actual employees to do the same.

But really, all they are there for is to get their pictures in the paper and the story out there. So that they can turn around and go to the company and say, hey, we can put a stop to this, simply help us organize the employees. You’ll only need to give a minimal raise and collect our union dues, and we’ll handle all these pesky worker problems.

21st century union extortion. The new mob.

They are already planning on cutting those jobs anyway.

My son’s company is in the process of installing new ordering systems that will, one day soon, allow people to order and pay from their smart phones.

From what I understand, you order when you are on your way to the restaurant and the software tracks your location via your phone. Your order is ready when you arrive so you can just pick it up at the counter or drive thru.

The automation of many industries will create an interesting problem. When enough people are unemployed or on welfare what will we do? They’ll vote for free stuff and get it as the majority.
