Romney says he might not have run in 2012 if Jeb Bush entered race

Had someone like former Florida Gov. Jeb Bush entered the 2012 Republican primary, Mitt Romney says he might not have entered the presidential race.

In an interview with Dan Balz for the Washington Post reporter’s soon-to-be released “Collision 2012: Obama vs. Romney and the Future of Elections in America,” Romney said that he would have seriously considered staying out of the presidential race if someone of Bush’s caliber declared his candidacy.

“I knew how grueling the process was, and I felt that there may be others who could be more effective in actually winning and then getting America on course,” Romney told Balz.

The RNC gave us a real loser, we never had a chance.

Despite clear faults, Jeb would have been much better than Mitt. For one, FL would have been in the bag. He also is a much better campaigner. He also could have done a much better job refocusing on Obama’s failures because he would have naturally had to defend the Bush record (the good parts), which the rest of the GOP is loathe to do.

That said, No and HELL no to Jeb in 2016. We need new, younger blood that can campaign against the last decade and a half of GOP weakness.

Mr. RomneyCARE would have been happy just to
attacked the Palin children.

FLASHBACK:

The McCain/Palin ticket was up ++4 to 10 pts
in some polls, days prior to Election 2008.
So rather than helping the GOP, Romney and
TeamROMNEY and the RNME (Republican National Media Establishment)
decided …to attack Gov. Palin to throw Election2008.

Romney, and the Van der Sloot RNME RINOs for Obama in 2008

Late in October, The American Spectator's The Prowler revealed:
"Former Mitt Romney presidential campaign staffers…
have been involved in spreading anti-Palin spin to reporters, seeking to diminish her standing after the election.
'Sarah Palin is a lightweight, she won't be the first, not even the third, person people will think of when it comes to 2012,'
says one former Romney aide…
'The only serious candidate ready to challenge to lead the Republican Party is Mitt Romney.
"Some former Romney aides were behind the recent leaks to media, including CNN, that Governor Sarah Palin was a 'diva' and was going off message intentionally."

The Palmetto Scoop reported: "One of the first stories to hit the national airwaves was
the claim of a major internal strife between close McCain aides and the folks handling his running mate Sarah Palin."
"I’m told by very good sources that this was indeed the case and that a rift had developed, but it was between Palin’s people and the staffers brought on from the failed presidential campaign of former Gov. Mitt Romney, not McCain aides."
"The sources said nearly 80 percent of Romney’s former staff was absorbed by McCain and these individuals were responsible for what amounts to a premeditated, last-minute sabotage of Palin."
… aides loyal to Romney inside the McCain campaign, said The Scoop, reportedly saw
that Palin would be a serious contender for the Republican nomination in 2012 or 2016, which made her a threat to another presidential quest by Romney.

"These staffers are now out trying to finish her off ….hoping it would ingratiate themselves with Mitt Romney."

"Who's the Palin Leaker from the McCain Campaign?
National Review Online The publication of a Vanity Fair profile of Sarah Palin
appears to have opened old wounds in the McCain campaign.
... the source of the “Diva” leak was Nicolle Wallace’s husband."

"Peeking Out From the McCain Wreckage: Mitt Romney"

"Someone's got to say it: IS MITT ROMNEY RESPONSIBLE FOR OBAMA'S VICTORY?"

"Vanity: Team Romney Sabotaged Palin and Continuing to Do So?"

"Romney Supporters Trashing Palin"

"Romney advisors sniping at Palin?"

Bush or Christie? Which one can give Hillary a race that can seem close? I hate to be negative, but history doesn’t give me a lot of hope for a good candidate.

So in other words we could have had a RINO running instead of a RINO. BTW, how is Jeb Bush doing with that Liberty medal he is going to award Hillary? Yes liberty. Let’s ask Ambassador Stevens how much liberty he is feeling lately.

There would have been no difference between Romney and Bush. That was the whole problem.

Wowie-woo!

RINO-I would not have run if RINO-II had entered the race.

Should the Repulsican party place another RINO in the ‘14 race, it’s curtains for the party.

Period.

Sounds like Romney would have had all the confidence of President Charles Logan from “24”.

Yes, and as ever, they are in the midst of preparations to give us ANOTHER frigging loser!

I for one, will have NONE OF IT! I’ll stay home. I’d rather the Republican elite were decimated than vote for another one. Nope, not even! Never.

The GOP offered a pretty weak group of candidates in 2012, and not surprisingly Romney was a dud.

Being the nominee of a party whose #1 issue was repeal Obama-care who was the inventor of it at the state level was a disaster.

Romney was left with the Rush-ism :”When rich guys like us get tax cuts they you all are better off”

And BTW : ‘most of you are moochers who will never vote for me either way’

You are WRONG!Romney lost because when he had Obozo”On The Ropes”(after the first debate),he let him get up!!He should have POUNDED him CEASELESSLY with his ATROCIOUS RECORD!!!Romnet thought he had it sewed-up and he”coasted”!It’s very analogous to a sports team that gets off to a BIG LEAD early in the game and then loses 10-9!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
