Young Commies Demand Corporations “Quit Stealing From Us” and Double the Pay (Fast Food Strikers)

Union-Backed Protesters Causing Disruption Outside Fast Food Chains

Young communists for a $15 minimum wage rallied in cities across the country today.

The workers want the corporations to “quit stealing” from workers and double the pay.

Fast-food worker Shenita Simon, who brought a baby with her to the interview, told Neil Cavuto:

Shenita Simon: “Those that think we’re making so much money and if we follow a particular type of budget, I can’t afford to pay rent. I can’t afford to feed my children. I can’t even afford the healthcare for my husband. Things that you guys see as everyday life is luxury to me and it’s not fair… I say, why are you the companies, you the franchisees getting raises. You’re making billions and millions of dollars per year. Why can’t we barely survive? Why is it we who are employees, who work, who put in hard sweat, why can’t we survive? Why do we have to go hungry at night? Why can’t we pay rent? Eight dollars, seven twenty-five, seven fifty is not enough.

Neil Cavuto: Is it a fast-food company’s purpose and responsibility to meet pay, to keep up with the living standards of a given city? Is it really up to that organization?

Shenita Simon: It’s their responsibility. Because when they’re cutting our checks, not giving us lunch breaks, you’re not giving us benefits. When you’re doing illegal actions against us. Yes, it’s your responsibility. Because when we’re making the bare minimum, and you’re stealing from us. Of course, we can’t survive. So yes, I hold you accountable and you are responsible.

It’s obvious from the interview that Shenita is a community organizer and not a fast-food worker.

Obama would be proud.

(VIDEO-AT-LINK)

If these young commies wanted corporations to pay for their healthcare they never would have voted for Obama.

I got an idea, Shenita. Why don’t you open your own restaurant and pay your employees 15 dollars an hour. And, better yet, pay yourself 30 dollars an hour.

Gee, who would have guessed that a minimum wage would have limited good employees to what they could make?

I was watching the video of these protests on Hannity. Nothing but a bunch of WHITE, LIBERAL/COMMIE/PROGRESSIVE college kids with bullhorns. Highly doubtful any of them has ever flipped a burger in their lives.

And what will happen, their BS will force the restaurants to fire folks and then they’ll move onto something else.

The restaurants are already working on robots, tablet ordering and outsourcing the drive-thru to India and the Philippines. No, I’m not kidding.

I respect her for working, holding down a job. Good for her!
But she shouldn’t really expect to support a family on a McD type job. It is not designed to do that, as anybody can see.
If she wants to support a family, she needs to either upgrade her skills to get a higher-paying job, or else open a successful business of her own.
To expect a McD type job to support an entire family is like expecting a Toyota Corolla to win the Indy500.
The Corolla is a great little car for what it is designed to do. It is not designed to out-perform race cars.

Even through these corporations like McDonald’s are worth many *billions*, their workers should consider themselves lucky to make 8 bucks an hour..

I say cut their wages!

Yeah. Let’s get rid of all the corporations and the jobs they create.

In 2008 there were over 6000 companies listed on American stock exchanges. Now it’s down to 4000 and still dropping.

What will these freeloaders do when all the money’s gone?

Detroit is only the first.

Of course and no doubt the burger robots will be able to spit out 20 cookie burgers per second...

And all these millions who work at these slop joints will need to become brain surgeons, chiropractors, physicist and politicians.

Neil Cavuto Your World ping!

Too many points to put here but :

1) Don't cities with ‘living wage’ laws have the most poverty and crime in the country?

2) WTF would we legalize a single illegal as a new worker (in this case one with no education) just to make this situation worse.

What does the Chamber of Commerce think , that illegals will just replace these protestors as workers??
Well many of them once legalized will eventually join the protests and rally to elect progressives to pass more living wage laws.

These guys would discover if they got the $15 an hour they want that their standard of living might not be significantly different because America subsidizes most minimum wage workers with food stamps, medical care, government housing, free meals at school, lower income taxes and more.

What happened to all those blacksmiths, farriers, livery stable, leather, wooden wheel, buggy and isinglass workers when automobiles became all the rage? Technology changes. Do you take your toaster, phonograph or radio to be repaired by some guy in a small storefront shop like the people of Mayberry did?

The little turd brains haven't figured out that if the owner of the store wanted to double one employee's wages, all he'd have to do is lay off another employee to do so.

Idiots.

What Company would invite a Labor Board dispute by not giving its Employees the required time off for breaks and lunch?

It appears that LYING isn’t a problem for people of the Liberal persuasion.

They might be able to force restaurants to raise their wages, but they can't force customers in the door. Fast food restaurants operate in a thin region of convenience for their customers. They provide a good lunch so you don't have to make your own before you leave home, for a modest price. Increase the price, and that convenience loses its appeal pretty quickly. And there are many easy substitutes, from the customer side, and the employer side.

Democrats like to forget what happened the last time they raised the minimum wage. here's couple of little graphs to remind them:

Yeah, let's just double it and see what happens. Those commie pukes know exactly what will happen.

It is whatever the market will bear. If they want, employers can pay that much. But as most are aware, increasing the cost increases the price to customers. I am only pointing out that these businesses are a convenience, and will be price sensitive, because it is very easy to substitute.

Personally, if I owned a restaurant chain, I would have plenty of options on the shelf, since there have been warning signs since 2008 that my costs would go up one way or another under Obama. We will see a lot of innovation from the restaurants, and their productivity will go up a lot. Expect to see a rash of "remodelings," which will modify a chain restaurant to use far more automation and need far fewer employees.

Good point. When you consider the "claw-back" rates on various social welfare programs; it's possible for some beneficiaries to, in effect "pay" a marginal "tax" of close to 100%. That produces what's known as the "welfare trap", whereby working, or getting paid more, does not net you more -- it might even make things worse, until you make a lot more than minimum wage. It's not hard to imagine what that does to motivation. It's one of the most perverse aspects of the system; and probably the least discussed.

As another story on the topic said, McD's in Europe has replaced cashiers with touch screen kiosks, and there are already machines that can cook fries and burn a patty on demand, all we need is a 2-armed robot to throw the patty on a bun and add the lettuce and stuff.

and they won't spit in your food because your a cracka.

Maybe they wouldn't even bother to protest, with the majorities they would enjoy after amnesty. They could just vote themselves govt. jobs and bennies, or maybe just bennies without jobs.

Again this summer I’m seeing astroturf liberalism fliers recruiting paid agitators to protest on behalf of the environment and “social justice”. None of the ads/fliers indicate what the pay rate IS for “community organizer” but they do indicate you will be paid (during the 2004 and 2008 elections, some such groups would even pay for your relocation/travel and lodging).
