Just two weeks after Janet Napolitano announced her resignation as Secretary of Homeland Security, the Congressional Black Caucus has suggested Rep. Sheila Jackson Lee of Houston fill her spot.
A letter dated July 25 and signed by Rep. Marcia Fudge, Ohio Democrat and caucus chairwoman, urges President Obama to consider Miss Jackson Lee for the position, calling the Democrat a “voice of reason” that the agency could stand to gain, the Houston Chronicle reported. “Representative Jackson Lee would serve as an effective DHS Secretary because she understands the importance of increasing border security and maintaining homeland security,” the letter reads. Mrs. Jackson Lee currently serves as a ranking member of the Homeland Security Subcommittee on Border and Maritime Security, a position that the caucus said she “stands as a strong and honest ‘voice of reason.’”

Did the Congressional Black Caucus make this offer just so Obama could point and laugh at the CBC? The CBC takes orders from Obama, not the other way around.
Somebody mentioned that making Rachel Jeantel the nominee would be a better choice. Far more brainpower, for one thing. And less radical thinking, with maybe a more graceful public aspect.
Is she still treating her Staff like personal Servants? There was a TV special years ago talking about her ignoring House rules and misusing her Staff.
Now that we have John Brennan as DCI, perhaps we should install Keith Ellison at Homeland Security.

Skin color is not a job qualification. I’d have no problem with naming the best qualified candidate for that job, regardless of melanin levels, but that has as little to do with ability as eye color does. Only a racist would use that trivial detail as the primary determinant.

Wow! Looking at that picture of her front and back is a great way to lose weight. I have completely lost my appetite.
Okay, second most stupid.
First, it gets an idiot out of Congress, and Houston another chance to elect someone who actually has two brain cells to rub together.
But the real kicker is this--She's so much of an idiot that DHS would flounder and become totally ineffective with her "leading" it. We could actually gain some freedoms back.
The other side of that coin is that DHS would try to become a totalitarian police force out to destroy not only her personal enemies, but anyone she may see as a threat--which would be everyone.
So--it's a coin flip.
