Karl Rove, 100+ GOP Donors Send Letter to Republicans Urging Immigration Reform

Karl Rove and more than one hundred Republican donors sent a letter to Republican members of Congress on Tuesday, urging them to pass a comprehensive immigration reform bill that would include, among other provisions, granting "legal status" to illegal aliens who meet certain criteria.
Anticipating that lawmakers will face resistance to the bill when they go home for the August recess, the letter marks the escalation of a campaign in which Republican leaders and donors are pressuring House Republicans to act on an immigration reform bill.
The letter begins: We write to urge you to take action to fix our broken immigration system. According to the New York Times, those who have signed include Rove; "former Vice President Dan Quayle; Tom Stemberg, a founder of Staples; and Frank VanderSloot, the founder of Melaleuca Inc." Romney campaign finance director Spencer Zwick was also signed the letter.
The Times reports that Carlos Gutierrez, former Commerce Secretary for President George W. Bush and a founder of the Republicans for Immigration Reform super PAC, organized the effort. Gutierrez, who has said in the past that English should not be the official language of government, said the letter was "the beginning of a campaign to lobby Republican lawmakers in favor of a broad immigration bill as they return to their districts for the August break."

These scum are not genuine Republicans - - how xould they be? - - and if House Republicans are cowed by these efforts then they need to be scared absolutely poopless by the calls they get from serious constituents who have a distaste for the final dissolution of America that is being promoted by Rove and those other sick scumbags.
Amen. It would effectively be suicide.
Every time I see something like this I am so ready for a new party. Something to be proud of.
It was not so much politeness as limited comment space, on purpose I’m sure.
I agree that immigration ought to be fixed. And by fixed I mean ENFORCED.
How about these 100 GOP donors write a letter to the occupant in the Oval Office telling him to ENFORCE THE LAW?
Somebody is trying to challenge McConnell in a primary in Kentucky. Apparently he is a rock solid conservative. He would do better to run as an independent. The RINO establishment will back McConnell with their connections and money and only a miracle with defeat the old bastard.
But an independent run could destroy him AND THEM and start a new movement.
The GOP elites and the liberal Rs who fund them are dead to me.
Not even twitching. They need to thrown into the dust heap of history.
The GOP has officially moved from a slow-motion to a high-speed train wreck.
That’s it in a nutshell. The Dems have gone to warp speed and the Rs are trying to catch up.
Very good points.
Follow the money. It’s just that simple. Our republic is for sale and the GOP is more than happy to broker the deal.
Rove is a closet communist!!
There’s one more to be added to the list. That would be to end the spying on US citizens. It is the issue, I think, that can bring over former Obama supporters who are totally fed up.
"Compassionate Conservatism" indeed.
Gimme that old time cheap immigrant labor... 16 tongues and all they get another day older and deeper in debt to our company stores . . . .
Karl Rove sent out an NRSC email this week about how the GOP will win the senate.
All of the senate seats are in states that hate amnesty. 80% of Montana is against amnesty. All statewide Democrats sold them out.
Someone should send Rove a letter asking him to jump off Niagara falls.
I have been telling people for close to 10 years that Rove is our enemy. There are still people here who either can’t understand his “recent” evil turn, or try to make excuses for him.
” Follow the money. Its just that simple. Our republic is for sale and the GOP is more than happy to broker the deal.”
All anyone needs to know.
They think they ‘know’. They do not; and they will not listen to ‘counter’ voices. Will be looking for my letter; and know where it will go; as soon as it lands in my angry; frustrated little Conservative hands.
