DETROIT (WJBK) - The bad news came in broad daylight that 45-year-old Deon Taylor of Detroit was dead inside a building.
"He was a very loving, strong man," said daughter Deleesha Taylor.
"His children are devastated. His grandchildren are devastated, and all I can say is we're trying to deal with this. It's hard," said sister-in-law Ramona Harper.
"I don't know what's going to happen now. He had 24 kids," said sister Jacqueline Taylor.
24 children are waiting to find out who or what took their father from them far too soon. Deon's cause of death is currently a mystery.
"I'm going to miss him a lot, and I know that he's in a better place. It just sucks that he can't be here with us," Deleesha said.
"My father meant the world to me. There's not a person in this world that didn't like my dad. He got along with everybody. That's why I don't understand how this could happen," said son Dwane Taylor.
That is what DPD is trying to determine. Homicide was called out because how Deon took his last breath was not obvious or clear. Cops crowded the corner of Colfax and Warren in Detroit Monday searching for evidence and any possible clues.
Sources said Deon was last seen inside the building around midnight. Although there is no signage outside, there are often signs of life inside. We learned the building is frequently used as a night club or party spot. Family and friends said Deon was last seen there getting ready to celebrate the success of one of his sons.
"Getting the place ready for his son's graduation party, which his open house was supposed to be this weekend," Harper said.
When no one had seen or heard from Deon, they had a feeling something was wrong, and sadly they were right.
"I know deep down in my heart he served his purpose here on earth," Deleesha Taylor said.
We learned Deon was found by his brother.
Meanwhile, police will determine how their investigation should proceed after they receive the medical examiner's report.

My sister raises boarder collies and her one dog has produced about that many dogs,same thing I suppose, as the male never never sees the pups.

Was thinking the same damn thing. My wife and I are trying our damnedest to have just one child with little luck. Meanwhile, this pustule on the ass of humanity has 24.
I missed out on something somewhere in my life.
If they do not find a white guy to pin it on the story will die due to lack of interest.
I hope for his children’s sake this man made out a will and Michigan has a friendly estate tax. These kinds of situations can get messy. /s

Bet the farm on it! Stories like this are why regulation of child rearing has to happen. I propose that people have to undergo testing (including financial background, mental competency, intelligence) before having kids.
If they don’t, said offspring are not recognized by the state and are not eligible for any benefits (including citizenship, schooling, etc.) unless they are given to the state to raise.
Better than leaving them in the reaches of jungle animals such as this; eliminates the using of genitalia for payment$.

Some of the comments at the article claim to be from people who knew him. They say he was a coach, owned several businesses, and was not on welfare.
Probably Zero.
Guy probably never worked a day in his life and some teary-eyed, bleeding-heart liberal social worker probably found a way of hooking everyone of his spawn up with a SS check.
Well, he had a girlfriend according to last night’s news report, so maybe he was still adding to his “family”.
The city performed a lethal vasectomy on him because even THEY couldn’t continue to allow him to run loose, spreading his seed.
The proof?
The new thing in Detroit is to kill someone, throw them in a vacant building, and set it on fire. The city leaders knew that if they set a property on fire, it could lead to more deaths because the response time for emergency services runs about 58 minutes.
So, they simply tied his tubes with extreme prejudice...and tossed him on a building sans flambeau.
