George Zimmerman's Brother: Trayvon Martin Skeletons Coming Out in Civil Trial
Gather ^ | July 30, 2013 | Hillary Hill

Posted on 07/30/2013 11:52:12 PM PDT by 2ndDivisionVet

George Zimmerman's brother is trying to warn Trayvon Martin's family about the additional pain and suffering they could go through if they try to bring a wrongful death civil suit against his acquitted brother.

As of July 30, many people in the country still labor under the illusion of the images painted of Trayvon Martin and George Zimmerman on the night Zimmerman shot and killed Martin, an unarmed teen from Miami. For example, erroneous reporting about the 911 call led many to believe that Zimmerman racially profiled the teen when NBC News later admitted the tape was aired out of context when it was reconfigured due to cutting and splicing the media tool, prompting a legal suit by the accused in the murder case.

Likewise, a judge ruled that information about Martin's fighting tendencies--just days before the fight with Zimmerman--could not be revealed to the jury during the Seminole County murder trial. And Judge Debra Nelson also ruled that photos of the dead teen holding guns and appearing to exhale smoke could not be used either. School expulsions for alleged wrongdoing were absent from the court, too, and the media largely ignored derogatory reporting about Sybrina Fulton's son.

The respect shown the victim was good in the sense that too many crime victims are revictimized after a crime by defense attorneys seeking to get off guilty clients. And Mark O'Mara, Zimmerman's attorney, was not allowed to do that to the memory of Martin. Yet the jury found in favor of the defendant anyway because the law showed he was not guilty of premeditated murder--or racial profiling.

A civil court, however, will allow the victim in addition to the accused to be presented in their entirety, factually. And that means the truth about Trayvon Martin's past will come back to haunt his mother and family if they move forward with this case. So George Zimmerman's brother is merely stating the obvious rather than trying to threaten the Martin family from moving forward. After all, they surely don't want the school where Trayvon attended to enlighten the country about how their son was expelled from school due to his antagonist behavior to authorities and his alleged criminal activities on the premises. And they don't want media reporting about his fighting tendencies, and how he felt he was good at it. Do they?

The Martin family can continue to enjoy the blind support of many in the African American community and elsewhere if they let this sleeping dog lie, but if they take Zimmerman to civil court in a wrongful death lawsuit then the gloves will come off. And no parent wants their child remembered for the things they did wrong. Nor do they want the world to know their child might have egged on the fatal blow that was dealt them either. And that's why Zimmerman's brother seems to think they will not pursue a lawsuit against his brother, according to the Huffington Post, telling the media outlet that "things that might not be flattering to Trayvon or his family" would come out.

That’s not going to stop them. It’s all about the $$$$. If they think they can get any, they’ll proceed. I can’t see them winning though, and it’s not like GZ has a lot in the way of assets even if they did win.

Bring it on!

After Zimmerman was acquitted the lib stream of talking points was that if Zimmerman took the stand he would have been convicted, and that a civil trial would force him to testify under oath.

The Dems seems to have dropped that line of logic.

Yup. Mentions of Tray’s school suspensions, likely jewelry thefts, drug use and violent texts were verboten during the Zimmerman trial. In a civil suit, all that gets to come out.

If they go with a civil suit, they will be irrevocably hurting their “brand.”

I just don’t see nothing gained from a lost-civil trial. You really introduce the entire Trayvon....a punk kid who’d been dismissed/suspended from school five times. The kid was doping up daily and likely just a year or two away from getting caught by the cops and introduced to real jail. You’d lose half of the audience if you start to point out all these facts.

I’m guessing lawyers are viewing this carefully. An agency could invest 2,000 man-hours in this, and if the win-rate is less than twenty percent....you are simply burning profits away. I’m guessing half of the legal firms in Florida would laugh if offered the deal.

Both my sister and a (now ex)friend had come down on the side of the MSM's portrayal of poor widdle Traytable as an unarmed, innocent little boy who was stalked, profiled, and murdered by big bad Georgie Zimmerman. The ex-friend prides herself on being "middle of the road" politically, which I now suspect means that she has no principles at all to stand for.

It's bad enough that the black community sticks up for this punk simply because of his skin color; but a fair number of whites have bought into his innocence too, in spite of the fact that Zim was ACQUITTED.

If anyone knows of a website through which donations for GZ’s legal expenses can be made, please post it here. When I get some money ahead, I will donate some as I am able. Thanks in advance.

I don’t know how much good a civil trial would do in terms of turning the tide of opinion against St. Traytable in terms of his real character as opposed to the MSM’s portrayal. But I am tempted to say, “Bring it on!” anyway.

But you shouldn’t ignore the publicity factor. A firm that takes this case will immediately become nationally known.

That’s worth a good bit in the long run, if you look good during the trial, even if you lose.

RE Who is going to pay for GZ’a attorney?

Over at the Dem channel they were complaining that it was unfair that Zimmermans defense was so well funded by contributors where-as a black defendant would be dependent on a public defender.

Zimmerman has contributions from supporters for this,

There is a Zimmerman defense fund plus in a civil trial the defendant can sue for legal defense bills.

I also have my doubts that the lame-stream media would fairly report anything brought out in court about TM, but would certainly highlight any skeletons found in GZ’s closet.

They are dirty that way!

Did you introduce the facts to your sister and (ex) friend? Or was that impossible? I guess facts got in their way of their narrative??

...and it’s not like GZ has a lot in the way of assets even if they did win.

I think GZ has more potential assets than many realize. He already has a suit against NBC for the defamatory editing they did on the recording of his phone call to the police. This could be worth several million. He has more suits just waiting to be filed against other media outlets. He has claims against the State of Florida for the railroad job they did.

Next he has book and movie rights. And, I would not at all be surprised to see him on a speaking tour in a few months. Security will be a challenge, but not insurmountable.

I couldn’t agree more, but have the Martins considered how shallow Zimmerman’s pockets are? Much of Zimmerman’s wealth, if any, was depleted with the legal costs of his criminal trial.

The situation is much more convoluted than money as a driver for their behavior.

Take a look at recent phrases used in the press.

“We want Justice for Trayvon” echoes the sentiment of many during the trial. This manifests they don’t even understand what the trial was about. It isn’t about Trayvon. It was about the relationship of Zimmerman and the laws of the State of Florida.

True Justice for Trayvon is an eternity in hell. I wouldn’t wish that on anybody, although I understand how those who reject Christ will continually degenerate to a point where Hell is the only appropriate place for them.

Trayvon is dead. We don’t have trials for dead people. We don’t charge dead people with criminal charges to determine their guilt or innocence, because they can’t defend themselves and they have already lost their life, something no longer controllable by the State.

We have trials regarding the State and people who violate the laws of the State. Only the State has the authority within our legal framework to legitimately take a human life. A person may defend themselves to prevent the taking of their own life by another, but the issue is still to support the rule of law and the State having the authority over human life, (other obviously than God Himself, because He is the one who gave life originally).

The trial is simply to discern if Zimmerman acted within the law or if Zimmerman violated the law, specifically regarding the charge of 2nd degree murder.

The defense apparently didn’t bring up self defense or the Hold Your Ground issues, as they simply won by the jury finding Zimmerman not guilty of the act of 2nd degree murder by the definition of the crime.

So the issue was strictly only about Zimmerman and if he was guilty or not guilty of 2nd degree murder.

The Black culture feeding frenzy bounces all over the place. Some attack the Hold Your Ground laws, which weren’t the issue. Many simply want vengeance, not justice, and others want revenge for what they perceive as evil, but confuse it with unrighteousness,...2 very distinct issues. Many claim they want Justice, but they confuse Justice with Vengeance, and in their arrogance further degenerate into sliding from Vengeance into Wrath against anybody who doesn’t share their arrogance.

It should be noted, this is the very same weakness in Islam, which has a problem in dealing with Justice. When perceiving unrighteousness, Justice must judge the act in a righteous manner.

The confusion extends back to the Garden of Eden, when Man ate from the tree of knowledge of good and evil, resulting in a spiritual death, and the solution was presented at the Mercy Seat, where by grace a solution is provided under 2 angels, one representing God’s Perfect Righteousness and the other His Perfect Justice.

Today, every man has the ability to discern good and evil, and also Righteousness and Justice through faith in Christ, but in our sinful nature, we are tempted to confuse good with right and the evil with the unjust. If we fail to remain in faith with Him, we may bounce between immoral degeneracy, confusing evil with pleasure leading to lasciviousness or moral degeneracy confusing good with righteousness leading to legalism.

The answer is simple. Believe in Christ and through faith in Him allow His Plan and grace to prevail.

Black persons seek a scapegoat for their thuggish tendencies. GZ is that scapegoat. The other George is now irrelevant.
