McCain: 'Tough choice' picking between Clinton and Rand Paul
CNN ^ | 7/31/2013 | CNN Political Unit

Posted on 07/31/2013 7:05:24 AM PDT by Qbert

(CNN) – Choosing who to vote for in a potential 2016 matchup between Democrat Hillary Clinton and Republican Rand Paul would be hard for Sen. John McCain, the Arizona Republican joked in an interview published Wednesday.

"It's gonna be a tough choice," McCain, laughing, told "The New Republic."

The 2008 Republican presidential nominee hasn't hidden his opposition to some of Paul's positions in the past, including the libertarian-minded senator from Kentucky's stance on drones and U.S. intervention in foreign conflicts.

Condemning Paul's 13-hour filibuster over the use of drones, McCain called his colleague, along with fellow Republican Sen. Ted Cruz, "wacko birds."

Other Republicans have also joined the back-and-forth – New Jersey Gov. Chris Christie and New York Rep. Peter King both chastised Paul for his opposition to government spying programs.

Well heck, he couldn't figure out who was the best guy in 2008 either.  He said the public had nothing to fear from an Obama administration when HE was running against him.

Why should Rand be expected to get more loyalty than he was willing to give himself.  The man is mental.

Well, actually I voted for Palin, and he was an unfortunate appendage on the ticket.

Even so, it is a wound, a pustule and a stain on my soul, which he frequently excoriates with these kind of outrageous pronouncements.

McCain lost his sanity over in Vietnam a long time ago, what makes anyone thinks he’s found it here so many years later?

Like a old horse, he needs to be put out to pasture as his “productive days” are long over.

Mc Cain need not worry. Rand Paul is NOT going to be the Republican nominee. Everybody knows however, that Mc Cain and Hillary are friends and no matter who the Republicans nominate, we know who Mc Cain will vote for. As of now, we should all be prepared for a Hillary election in 2016, because I don’t think the Republicans can mount a credible challenge to the Election Machine that is being put together to get her elected.

To: Qbert; All

The inertia of the RINO Wing mindset of the Republican Party has kept the Welfare Democrats in power after the National defeats of Dole, McCain and Romney.

One would think that those 3 painful losses would be called an “out” by the Republican Party.

What has happened is that the Republican faithful just chalk them up to 3 foul balls.

What is lacking is the desire to judge each action or inaction on the merit of whether or not it is good for the Country.

As a result, our political system has been in the Roman end times where the decadent rulers just try to appease the masses by giving them “stuff.”

Our “stuff” is the Welfare Borrow and Spend Shadow Federal Government that consumes 40 % of the Total Federal Government spending.

We beat our chests and complain about our high taxes that go to pay for this Welfare Shadow Government.

The truth is that not one penny of our taxes goes to pay for Welfare, as ALL of Welfare is financed by borrowing from our Grandchildren’s descendants.

Thus, we have two Federal Governments: one that is financed mainly by income from those 54 % who still pay Personal Federal Income Taxes, and the other financed by debt which must be repaid with interest by our Grandchildren’s descendants.

None of the above is recognized as being valid by those that we elect to govern us.

If the economic reality cannot be clearly communicated to our sorry Federal Politicians, then the Financial Markets will do so at the worst possible time.

________

My second point is that of leadership. This is a generational topic, and thus difficult to analyze.

History will show that the Post-WW2 generations in America produced poorly motivated patriotic political leaders, with few exceptions.

History will also show that we, as a Nation, lack the will to punish our politicians who violate the ethics, morality, financial obligations or the written Laws of our Nation.

For example, who was the last US President who went to jail for violating his oath of Office for violating the US Constitution? BTW, he/she would be the next one and also be the first.

__________

The third point is the Republican’s insatiable desire to fail. RINOs are masters at it, and for that reason have kept (for FIVE YEARS) as their Speaker of the US House none other than John “Cave-In” Boehner.

With Sobber John at the helm, there will be no Special Investigation of the Benghazi Massacre, IRS harassment of Welfare Democrat opponents, legal pursuit of Contempt of the House AG Holder, or year to year reduction in Total Federal Spending, etc.

B. Hussein Obama’s legacy will remain intact and in effect as long as “Cave-In” Boehner is kept as Speaker by the sorry House RINOs.

RINOs have their defenses up to label as “Wacko,” “dangerous,” or “radical” any challenge to their dedicated goal of failing to act in the best interests of the Country, and to always Cave-In to the Welfare Democrats.

Blackmail or ridicule to them is a badge of honor, as they laugh their way to a gold-plated retirement paid for by the debt that they have created.

_________________________________________________________________________

BTW, think about the above comments the next time that someone tries to con you into believing that “we Americans still have a Federal Government that we can be proud of.”

This is the reason an admitted foreign born Islamic communist was allowed to be unconstitutionally elected twice as POTUS. Tell me Mr. McCain, if you were born in Hawaii would you allow “born in Kenya” to be put on your book? Would you promote yourself as being born in Kenya when you ran for Senate? Would you say you were born in Kenya when you went to college? And by the way: Do Christians go to Islamic schools for two years? That’s news to me.

I understand- but the guy is intentionally going out of his way to trash his party's chances in 2016. He gave this interview to the New Republic, of all places. McCain: 'Tough choice' picking between Clinton and Rand Paul

I call busslhit, unless he's being sarcastic. He'd vote Her Thighness all the way.

To those who say he is senile, you are mistaken. He is a Globalist and a fascist (Corporatist). He hates America, the Constitution, and freedom.

I sincerely believe he voted for Obama in 2008.

Rand Paul is NOT going to be the 'pub nominee

I think he could pull it off. Those of us in our 60s are pretty disgusted with what's happened to the US. Rand Paul speaks about drones, NSA spying on US citizens, cleaning up the banking system, stopping the recreational war-globalist-empire thing.

I think he could bring a lot of votes to support him that would've been hillary's before Benghazi "what does it matter".

Besides that, anyone I talk to thinks Boehner and the rest of them who traitored us are asses. Our generation might just rule the day in Republican primaries.

See how it works? Conservatives must hold their noses and vote for moderate-liberals like McCain and Romney. But it’s a tough choice for moderate-liberals when the choice is between a conservative and a democrat. Because moderate-liberal republicans are actually democrats.

Conservatives must always support the republican nominee, but moderates must think about it when the nominee is a conservative.

Because the goal of both democrats and moderate republicans is to destroy and undermine conservatives. For example, Olympia Snowe says that Mike Enzi should be supported no matter what, but I bet she wouldn’t support the reelection of Rand Paul or Mike Lee.

Fry McLame. He is rogue and a turn coat to conservatism.

Beck is talking about boycotts this morning. It does not take long during a boycott to put some serious hurt on a business. I know what I’m suggesting is a pipe dream but here it is.

Get to McLame... Boycott Anheuser-Busch.

His wife owns one of the largest Anheuser-Busch distributors in the United States.

Just boycotting her distributorship would not do any good naitonally but boycotting Anheuser-Busch nationally would cause Anheuser-Busch to be attracted to McLame.

I am 100% for a third party. The Republican Party is irredeemable. Sarah Palin talked of forming a "Freedom Party"... I would recommend disaffected conservative Repubs detach from the GOP and gravitate to the Constitution Party. It already has in place an infrastructure in place, so rather than creating something that will be generally aligned with the USCP's goals and objectives, why not populate it with a large conservative presence?

Yes, I certainly did notice.

The problem for these RINOs and GOPe’s is that without conservatives, they won’t just lose, they’ll be extinct! I really don’t think they understand the outrage we have for them, and the implications awaiting them.

The only shred of political power I have left, is to simply not vote, or vote for a third party candidate. I know the conventional wisdom has been: “Third parties never, work, we must unify and vote for the GOP candidate...yada...yada!” We’ve seen how well being a good little team player has worked for us now haven’t we?!?! I voted for my last RINO in Mitt Romney. If we’re going down, the GOPe can do it without me.
