Your post is the only post so far that “gets it”.

We have compulsory government schools that have been completely godless for 50 years, secular government schools ( that nodded to God on occasion) since the turn of the last century, and socialist-entitlement schools since the mid-1850s. and and we wonder why it produced incompetent parents and dysfunctional families and children.

Yep! Blame the kids and parents! ( sigh with eye roll)!

The above is a perfect prescription for a failed society. Blacks are the canaries in the coal mine. They get sick first. Next: White society!

it is bad students that make bad schools
^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^

It takes a few generations but godless, socialist entitlement, and compulsory schools create bad societies.

1) The children attend must think and reason godlessly just to cooperate in the classroom. How could it be otherwise?

2) The children risk learning to be comfortable with government compulsion.

3) The children risk learning that any voting mob powerful enough to give them tuition-free schooling is powerful enough to give them **lots** of “free” stuff!

And 1, 2, 3.....Bad parenting! Blacks are the canaries in the coal mine. Next: Whites!

Also, the disintegration of the family
^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^

Socialist-entitlement schooling since the mid-1800s, secular schools from the turn of the last century, factory-like schools since the 1960s, and **completely** GODLESS schools since the 60s couldn't possibly contributed to the disintegration of the family....Nope! Not a bit! ( sarc)

The government schools were a socialist-entitlement from the beginning ( mid-1800s to early 1900s)

Progressives have **always** controlled teacher training and curriculum development. Progressives have always pushed for secularization and, now, complete godlessness. Progressives have always been pushing that edges of societies morals and ethical tolerance.

Conclusion: Socialist and godless schools eventually create dysfunctional parents and badly reared children.

The idea being that, for the most part, folks are not interested in learning
^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^

I don’t think I have ever heard a homeschooling mom say that. Children **LOVE** learning. Honestly, they do. It ‘s almost impossible to keep them from learning.

We don't have to choose whether the problem is bad schools (or, for that matter, bad teachers) or bad students...because all are true.

The public school system is not just bad, but evil...because it brings out the worst in everyone it touches.
