ITíS OFFICIAL: SEN. LINDSEY GRAHAM WILL FACE TEA PARTY CHALLENGER IN 2014
The Blaze ^ | August 1, 2013

Posted on 08/01/2013 7:10:20 PM PDT by SMGFan

It’s official: Sen. Lindsey Graham (R-S.C.) will face a Tea Party challenger in 2014.

A spokesperson for Republican Nancy Mace, who is already being billed as a Tea Party favorite, confirmed to TheBlaze on Thursday that she plans to challenge Graham for his Senate seat in the 2014 Republican primary. She plans to make a “special announcement” about her run at the Berkeley County GOP Breakfast on Saturday.

The spokesperson said the campaign will be releasing more information and Mace will be doing interviews following the formal announcement.

Mace is the first woman to graduate from The Citadel, a military college in the Palmetto State. She is also a wife, mother and small business owner from Goose Creek, S.C. According to her campaign website, she is the proud daughter of retired Army Brigadier Gen. Emory Mace.

RE :”yes, but she’s not the answer.”

I still remember the ‘JD isnt good enough to support’ crap posted here by a few in 2010 McCain AZ primary. Now look what we got.
Screw that again. Grahamnesty is EVEN WORSE than McCain.

I'd even support a Dem over Grahamnesty now.

Really, I been watching him closely listening to every word on those Sunday shows and his words are carefully chosen deceit.

Making believe he opposes Obama when he is working for him.

Last Sunday Bob Schieffer on CBS FTN plays a clip of Gramnesty warning the GOP to support amnesty ‘or else’ and then he (Bob) follows it up with ‘And no Republican is more conservative than Senator Graham is’

Lin, like many in the spotlight of the GOP are a carefully crafted lie. And a plethora of stalwart GOP diehards will line up again and defend him by the backhanded method to poo pooing his challengers.

We see it happen on this very thread by those lacking clue 1 as to this woman’s bonifides. Anything to keep the status quo in place while avoiding a good hard look at reality.

I no longer support someone who simply claims, “I am the Tea Party candidate” any more than i blindly support a Rep.

Who is she? Who backs her and what does she offer as proof of her assertions?

I wasnt born yesterday.

I do remember that She was the girl who DEMANDED to be let into Citadel which was an all-male school and then demanded lower standards, separate quarters, and no haircut.

Not really my kind of girl so far. What else does she have?

Methinks thou needs to do more research to help correct your malfunctioning “I do remember” memory. You’re confusing Nancy Mace with Shannon Faulkner.

Anyhow, I’m supporting any and all conservatives who take on Lindsey Graham in the 2014 primary—at least as long as they run campaigns that DO NOT ATTACK the other conservatives in the primary but DO ATTACK Lindsey Graham as he deserves to be attacked. The goal is to keep Little Lindsey from receiving a majority of the vote in the primary, exhaust some of his RINO supplied campaign war chest before he advances to a run-off against the conservative challenger with highest vote. This is the proven strategy employed by Ted Cruz against the RINO favorite David Dewhurst in the Texas primary.

Please, save your ammunition for Little Lindsey. I made an initial small donation to support Nancy Mace in her efforts. Here are some links for those interested in supporting and/or donating.

“You’re confusing Nancy Mace with Shannon Faulkner.”

Sort of. Have you read Nancy’s (ghost-written) book yet? :)

I know 2 people who were at Citadel at the time. I’ve reached out to them to ask them what they think of her running.

However, I never said she was not, nor could not be, good.

Like I said, I no longer JUMP in with money and/or time when someone “declares” that they are better and more Conservative than the other guy.

I also have a higher standard for Senators (6 years is a long time).

Too much to ask?

Lindsay sucks. He has to go. We agree.

But who else is running and why has the Media (and certain parts of the Rep. establishment) latched on to this one so early? Like they did Christie and some others?

I’m not going to bandwagon completely unknown candidates any more.

The Media and the establishment rip apart the good Tea Party candidates (Palin, Cruz, for example), but they seem to be ok with this one. Ok?

*******************************************************************
I think the media “latched onto this” because it just came out that she will formally announce her candidacy this Saturday.

If we want to get rid of Little Lindsey, it might be best to do a bit of “reserving judgment” on ANY of his announced opposition until things begin to clear up—it's early in the cycle. It's possible that an even more (i.e., more so than Lindsey) of a RINO/Liberal will come out to run against Graham. If that helps to drain additional votes from Lindsey, it's all to the good. The thing we want to happen is to force Lindsey into a runoff by preventing him from getting to the 50% thresh-hold needed to avoid such a runoff. You can take it to the bank that if he's in a runoff, he will be facing the most conservative of his primary opposition. Support can then coalesce around that conservative.

Very good post. If you can provide any of the feedback that people who were at Citadel with her, that would be valuable.

She's not run for public office at all, and as you say, there needs to be a higher standard for the U.S. Senate.

I await the news of SC State Senator Lee Bright officially entering the primary.

IMHO, there will be no top-tier primary opposition to Lindsey Graham. But it will still be possible to keep him under 50% in the primary. If the candidates running can garner enough regional support combined with conservatives voting for anybody-but-Graham, he can be forced into a runoff.

Something everybody thinking about this race needs to bear in mind: unfortunately, we have open primaries here in SC. So a lot off the RATS will cross over and vote in the Republican race.

Also: the Executive Committee of the South Carolina Republican Party has a "Resolution in Support of the Replacement of Lindsey Graham as Senator for the State of South Carolina."

Read it here.

Interesting... her own party wants to get rid of her.
