In an interview with the Daily Beast published Friday, Rep. Charlie Rangel (D-NY) suggested Tea Partiers are the "same group" who fought for segregation during the Civil Rights movement.

I never fought civil rights. I think Rangel sat up there on The Hill holding hands and kissing some who did.
And of course no elected Republican will speak up to refute this absurd fabrication.
That no one speaks out in opposition is the reason the Obama racist claque makes propaganda charges like this in the first place. They know that they’ll get away with it.
He should be pleased to learn he is incorrect.
So he’s saying the tea party are a bunch of Democrats? That’s new.
That’s nice of you Charlie. But, seriously, nobody wants to lynch you. Honest! It’s just that you should be happy you’re not in jail, where you belong.
No. That would be the Democrats.
Wow!!!!
I was shocked to hear I was a “white” cracker!!!! When I woke up this morning, I was a black conservative!!
Blacks should not be permitted to call whites “the “cr” word. /s
I realize that that I am a racist just for clicking the reply button by new definition but it seems to me that the most racists people are the minorities in the public eye.
“When I woke up this morning, I was a black conservative!!”
The black racists would then call you “not black enough”. They’re such racist bigots.
The party that was HISTORICALLY against Civil rights for Blacks was Rangel’s party.
As Ann Coulter recounts:
* The Republican, Eisenhower pushed through the 1957 Civil Rights Act and the 1960 Civil Rights Act. He established the Civil Rights Commission.
* It was Eisenhower, not Truman, who fully desegregated the military.
* The Brown vs Board of Education decision was being openly defied by the Democratic governor of Arkansas (and Bill Clinton pal), Orval Faubus, who refused to admit black students to Little Rock Central High School.
* If Eisenhower’s 1957 civil rights bill was weak, it was because of one man: Lyndon B. Johnson. As Robert Caro explains in his book, “Master of the Senate: The Years of Lyndon Johnson,” it was LBJ who stripped the bill of its enforcement provisions. Even after that, the bill was still opposed by 18 senators — all of them Democrats.
* The 1957 Civil Rights bill was sent to Congress by Eisenhower, passed with the intervention of Vice President Richard Nixon, and opposed exclusively by Democrats. Not “Southern Democrats,” not “conservative Democrats,” but Democrats, such as Wayne Morse of Oregon, Warren Magnuson of Washington, James Murray of Montana, Mike Mansfield of Montana and Joseph O’Mahoney of Wyoming.
* Every single segregationist in the Senate was a Democrat.
* The rest remained not only Democrats, but quite liberal Democrats. These included such liberal luminaries as Harry Byrd, Robert Byrd, Allen Ellender, Albert Gore Sr., J. William Fulbright, Walter F. George, Russell Long and Richard Russell.
Fulbright was Bill Clinton’s mentor. Gore was “Al Jazeera” Gore’s father. Sam Ervin headed Nixon’s impeachment committee.
* As LBJ explained to fellow Democrats after doing a 180-flip on civil rights as president and pushing the 1964 Civil Rights Act (which resembled the 1957 Civil Rights Act he had gutted as a senator): “I’ll have them ni**ers voting Democratic for two hundred years.” That’s according to a steward on Air Force One, who overhead him say it.
It’s one thing to rewrite history to say the Holocaust was when the Swedes killed the Jews. But it’s another to say that the Holocaust was when Jews killed the Germans.
That’s how liberals rewrite the history of civil rights in America.
No Charlie you drooling half wit that was you Party the Democrats that burned crosses lynched Blacks and fought EVERY CIVIL RIGHTS law EVERY ONE up to LBJ. Thereafter since there was nothing else to vote for since the Republicans did that already your Party invented problems to fix. Even Nixon gave you affirmative action.
We are some of the few remaining who will defend the Bill of Rights and the slave amendments.
That’s because it’s no longer about race, it’s about culture.
The 60s were legitimately about attacking real racism.....denial of rights solely because of skin color.
Today it’s about trying to make all cultures equal.....which simply cannot be the case.
The TEA party is made up of Democrats?
Who knew?
So the people that fought the Civil Rights movement were Jim Crow Democrats? Go ask Al Gore about how his father voted against the law.
Another Black KKk racist spewing off again
No, sir.
The Tea Party is todays “White Rose Society”.

Sustitute “Amereica” where you see “Germany” and you’ll see.
Is that the same Rangel who helped froot of islam murder a police officer? Getting almost close enough for splatter?
That Rangel?
Sticky keyboard keys or fat fingers.
America not Amereica.
And we know what that crude s.o.b. had to say about it, too.
Hahaha! If I’m not mistaken, It was the Democrats who fought the Civil Rights Act. Wasn’t Dem Senator Robert Byrd a KKK member? LOL
In that case leftists and black race hustlers hate you even more than us sandhogs.
Well you must be a white cracker, everyone knows there is no such thing as a black conservative. Just ask Charlie Rangel.
P.S. Impeach Rangel for his racist attack.
Learn something new every day.

Using Rangel’s bizarro world logic, the only reason white people are in the US is because black slavers brought them here from Europe.
N.B.: When the Democrats claim that the “Dixiecrats” all became Republicans, that is a patent lie. Only one, Strom Thurmond, became a Republican. All the two dozen or so major national Dixiecrats remained Democrats until their dying days.
What makes it all the more entertaining is that many modern Democrats are in the direct lineage of the Dixiecrats.
For example, Bill Clinton’s mentor was Orval Faubus, the governor of Arkansas that blockaded the Little Rock high school with Arkansas National Guardsmen, against integration, until Republican President Eisenhower sent in the 101st Airborne Division to enforce integration.
Racist Democrats fought against Civil Rights.
Not anti-tax Republican Tea Partiers.
“Fat, drunk and stupid is no way to go through life, Mr. Rangel.”
Dean Wormer
*BZZXTTT*!!!
Sorry Rangel, it was DEMOCRATS who opposed Civil rights and who created the KKK to stop them.
It was Republicans who enacted them.
Those who fought for segregation during the Civil Rights movement are the Democrat party, Charlie.
The TEA Party stands in the way of the Democrat Party that is trying to enslave all of us.

We’re coming for your money, Charlie. We’re coming - and you can’t stop us. We are a wave: faceless, nameless, and dedicated to the destruction of the Welfare State and all the thugs who defend it. When we are finished, Charlie, men like you will have to find honest work in the private sector. God help you...
Why isn’t Rangel in federal penitentiary for tax evasion?
Hey! Charlie Tuna, read this from the left-leaning wiki;
“The National Association for the Advancement of Colored People (NAACP), as well as numerous other organizations, organized support from white and black Americans alike and conducted a national campaign to get a federal anti-lynching law passed; in 1920 the Republican Party promised at its national convention to support passage of such a law. In 1921 Leonidas C. Dyer sponsored an anti-lynching bill; it was passed in January 1922 in the United States House of Representatives, but a Senate filibuster by Southern white Democrats defeated it in December 1922. With the NAACP, Representative Dyer spoke across the country in support of his bill in 1923, but Southern Democrats again filibustered it in the Senate. He tried once more but was again unsuccessful.
African-American women’s clubs, such as the Association of Southern Women for the Prevention of Lynching, raised funds to support the work of public campaigns, including anti-lynching plays. Their petition drives, letter campaigns, meetings and demonstrations helped to highlight the issues and combat lynching.[2] From 1882 to 1968, “...nearly 200 anti-lynching bills were introduced in Congress, and three passed the House. Seven presidents between 1890 and 1952 petitioned Congress to pass a federal law.”[3] No bill was approved by the Senate because of the powerful opposition of the Southern Democratic voting block.”
Charles “Magical Thinking” makes it so
LOL!
Lyndon Johnson’s ‘Great Society’ and Bush’s ‘New World Order’ mixed in with a lot of other social programs created a ‘Tower of Babel’ and the Bible tells what happens to such societies. This Nation has for many years at different times been subjected to influences which the Founding Fathers were cautious about and warned about. We today are loaded with many and varied culture groups and the Nation needs to deal with such as is.
Why is fighting against the civil rights movement suppose to be some kind of black mark? The so-called civil rights movement was run by Communists and helped ruin this country. Look what happened to Detroit and all our major cities. The so-called civil rights movement paved the way for the homosexualist and the illegal alien invasion. It's too bad those White Crackers didn't succeed because we might still have a 1st World Civilization in this country.
Bwahaha!!! Charlie will be calling you a “black cracker”! We might remind ol Charlie, those protesting the loudest against the Civil Rights Movement were 100% Democrat! BTW, I got $50 Charlie wouldn’t last a nano second in Texas!
He calls white people crackers and not one white representative has the nerve to criticize him?
It was not the TEA Party that wrote The Southern Manifesto, which claimed that Brown vs Board of Education was unconstitutional and overall a very bad idea. It also was not TEA party who tried to filibuster all the civil rights bills from 1950 to 1962 or 3.
But nobody knows that anymore.
