They go light when it’s a grave offense against a child. I’m sure that’s an encouragement for those who think they don’t have much to loose to satisfy themselves. What else could we expect when they approve of abortion.

Don’t misunderstand me, because I didn’t say there was nothing appealing about young girls. What I said was that intellectually there is nothing to be gained by a relationship. The most you could gain stacked up against the most you and everyone involved would lose, just wouldn’t be worth it. It’s a lose lose lose lose lose situation.

There is that rare enticing kid who will be very enticing through no fault of their own. It doesn’t matter. As an adult, the adult needs to think it through and avoid this sort of situation.

This is in no way meant to imply that I think some young girls ask for it. In nearly all instances they don’t, and even if they did, it makes no difference. There’s no excuse for not using your head and avoiding this. Same for women when confronted with young underage boys.

These teachers that get involved, it’s a massive mistake. No amount of short term fun is going to be worth the massive disruption in everyone’s life when it’s over. And it will be over.

Okay, and I didn’t man to imply I took offense. I’m just trying to be honest about how I see things. I didn’t want to minimize how I see young kids. There is something to be gained by admitting certain attractions can exist, but there isn’t any justification for taking action whatsoever.

If someone considering taking an actions were to read a frank discussion like this, it might actually make sense for them not to act on them, and that’s why I think it’s important to lay this out.

I now live in Ormoc City, Leyte, Philippines. The women here are beautiful, and even the little girls are visually appealing. I have a very nice "country girl" as my housekeeper. She is 17. She is a beauty. I am 65. I would never think of her as a sexual conquest. I have granddaughters about her age.

That said, I see many of the "foreigners" here that have chosen the "waif" type as their "girlfriends". I use all those italics because I think it is explanative of the mindset of a pervert.

Every where I go, I get asked if I have a girlfriend, and many of those asking are verrrrrrrrrry young girls. They hope to snag a meal ticket, as this country is poor. I am here for life, and may take a Filipina wife in the future. But, I attend a Baptist church every week. I have been asked by the Pastor if I want a wife, and he will help me find a Godly" woman. I always thank him, but tell him I am not looking. If "love" catches up with me again, it will a natural progression.

Man is sinful. Catholic priests are not immune from a sinful life. Many are weak, and believe they cannot help themselves. That is the key, to me. Faith! God is real to me, unlike to most RC's. They are led by a "church", by men. They are fed a catechism from youth, that does not help them learn from God's Spirit, but instead places a human Pope as the authority of EVERYTHING to do with Salvation, and puts God's earthly mother in a place of redemptress, on par with Christ. Error begets error, and it is compounded by beliefs that say you can sin, be forgiven, and sin again, and that dead people can be prayed out of "purgatory".

life is good here. Life is good everywhere when we acknowledge God and allow His Spirit to control our minds and actions.

I am a sinner. God has saved me from my past and protects me from my future. "I know in whom I have believed and am persuaded that HE is able to keep me..." Yet, I am still a sinner, just as Paul teaches us in his letter to the Romans (Ch 7). I choose to ignore the temptations...

Sounds like you've got it all figured out.  I'm somewhat envious.  Life is too short, and you've obviously found paradise.What's nice is that you know it, and you won't spoil it for yourself.  Good for you.

My take on things is that it can take strange bed-fellows for each person to get what they want out of a relationship.  If the woman is younger but feels the trade off in standard of living vs age is something she's willing to accept, I have no problem with it as long as she is treated with the upmost respect and tenderness.  She should not be taken advantage of.  Her family and friends should be respected.  What I'm basically saying, is that as long as love and respect exists, and the women is not just being used, then I am somewhat accepting.  I obviously don't think a guy my age (62) should be with a woman in her 20s, 30s, or perhaps even 40s.  Still, it really does depend on the situation.

I think that is a great outlook.  I also think that some situation may present itself to you that you may not expect.  I'll tell you that I'm such a softie, that if some younger woman was put in a terrible situation by her family or something, I'd be inclined to help her.  If that led to something later down the road by mutual agreement, who knows.  I wouldn't be looking for that.  As you say, there's plenty of that for the taking if that's what you're there for.  Still, there are times when things happen a certain way, and life take strange turns.

I share your views here.  I don't like to be specific in my criticisms of other religions.  I think people have to find their own way, and it's not for me to set them straight.  If I'm asked a straight quesiton, I'll answer in a straight manner with honesty.

I agree, but I am the frailest of Christians.  Paul said he failed daily.  I'd have to progress to be able to say that.  I do believe in a forgiving God.  It's my only road to salvation, because I am a truly a sinner.I lost the love of my life this year.  I only mention that, becaue during the process I realized that I fully understand God's love and the power of forgiveness for the first time in my life.

When I sin, it's like I have separated myself from God.  I know He mourns for me when I do.  I know He forgives me when I ask.  I know I have hurt Him.  I know I am not worthy.  I also know that when I am sincere and tell Him I am sorry I have hurt Him, that he is always there to love me and take me back.  I know for certain I cannot love better than God can.  So I know what is in His heart better than most.

One of the hardest things to do is Love God in the manner He should be loved.  That's something I have to work on.  I can tell you that I love Him more now than I did last year.  I know His pain.  I know how much He longs to have me back in the fold.  It's something I can understand.  I empathize with Him on a whole new level.  That is a good thing.

I now know better how to love like God, how to love him respectfully, and with deep appreciation for His love of me.

When humans fight sin we call it Godliness, or at least our striving for Godliness.

When we practice and codify that striving and attempt to institutionalize it we call it civilization.

But I agree with you: it is the sustained battle against sin and evil that leads to civilization...alas the battle has turned against us in recent years.
