Breaking: Issa Subpoenas Treasury Secretary Lew For IMPEDING IRS Targeting Investigation (Video)

The House Committee on Oversight and Government Reform subpoenaed Obama Treasury Secretary Jack Lew for withholding documentation from Congress in the ongoing IRS Tea Party Scandal investigation.

The Oversight Committee accuses the Obama Administration of impeding and obstructing the investigation.

“During the past two weeks, President Obama and you have repeatedly labeled the IRS’s strategy of targeting Americans for their political beliefs as a ‘phony’ scandal. While the Obama Administration has so publicly deflected responsibility for the targeting, it simultaneously has attempted to thwart congressional oversight into the matter… the IRS has engaged in a systematic effort to delay, frustrate, impede, and obstruct the Committee’s investigation,” Issa writes in a letter to Lew accompanying the subpoena.

The IRS targeted over 292 conservative groups before the 2012 election. The IRS abuse continues to this day.

Earlier this week the IRS turned over thousands of pages – most of them completely unreadable – to the Oversight Committee.

my guess is:
You have never played a major role in getting anyone elected to anything.
You have never played a major role in getting any legislation passed, or in stopping any legislation.

You are a crank, an angry and currently USELESS angry person who does not even care about the results of your actions.
No “3rd Party” will EVER amount to anything. Try your best to make the GOP more conservative, and quit shooting conservative Republicans in the back.

I’m actually pretty laid back right now. The house is clean, the kids are in bed, and I got a ton of baking done today. I feel quite accomplished, and I’m looking forward to a few more heirlooms ripening tomorrow for a caprese salad. My favorite!

It’s funny how I never mentioned a third party, yet you accuse me of endorsing just such a thing. I will neither agree nor deny that I’m intrigued by a third party, but I will suggest that you take a look at what JimRob has been up to lately. As this is his site, you might want to take some time off from it if you despise the third party idea. Just a FRiendly suggestion.

As for shooting Republicans in the back, well check out my tagline lol! Seriously though, I’ve never done such a thing. I have the big girl panties to tell RINOs exactly what I think of them. I wish it could be to their faces, but I have to settle for my signature and address on my personal correspondence. Those sneaky critters are making it more difficult to get face time. Gosh, it’s almost like they know we’re really pissed at them!

One final comment about shooting Republicans in the back: Christine O’Donnell, Michelle Bachman, Sarah Palin, Herman Cain, and Allen West. What do these good folks have in common? They were either shot in their backs by the GOPe, or savagely attacked from the outside while the GOPe did nothing for thier defense. Hell, the GOPe didn’t even send financial support to Perry to battle the baby killers last month!

When is that arrogant b*t*ch Lois Lerner being summoned back to testify?

Yeah, that says it all, doesn't it?

And oh, by the way: Hey Issa, how is that Fast and Furious investigation going?

Uhh...it's already over. Boehner and McConnell are in the fetal position under their desks sucking their thumbs.

The House voting for amnesty will be the final nail in the coffin.

Hey, it was fun while it lasted. We had a good ride but...

I’m done with the GOP. It’s been infiltrated just like the Democrat Party.

(yawn)

If Lew shrugs and decides to grace Issa with an appearance before his committee he will only proceed to lie, obfuscate, spin, and "don't recall". Then what? Another subpoena? A "contempt of Congress" charge? Ooooo.... That sounds nasty! Issa and the House Republican "leaders" are weaklings and cowards. Ubama and his mob will continue to laugh off Issa and the rest of the leadership clowns, and not one of them has the spine to do anything about it. And the Ubama mob knows it.

(Picture is actually from the Fast'n'Furious phony scandal rather than the IRS phony scandal, but the bottom line is the same.)

Ooooooooo! Was the subpoena strongly worded? I bet it was. I bet Lew is just shaking in his boots (out of laughter knowing that the GOPe doesn’t have the balls to do anything).

What you said BUMP.
Right on.

Somebody ping me if the Republicans ever actually DO anything to hold the lawless Ubama mob to account.

I’m working more

You are supporting the government more.

I see my country and what so many millions have worked hard for, died for, being systematically dismantled

You're not just seeing that, you're funding that.

It is not my fault that you are still suffering from beaten wife syndrome from the GOPe.

Where's my free lunch? Don't make me audit you!

Imagine turning over an unreadable tax return to the IRS.

If enough people had imagination we would not be sitting here sniping and turning on one another like crabs in a basket.

As happened with Watergate, the way around DOJ’s “fox guarding the henhouse” was with the Special Prosecutor and Select Committee.

Who has the authority to call in a Special Prosecutor?

Boehner may be a bump in the road for Select Committee, but surely if enough House Members call for one it can happen.

My post doesn’t appear ignorant. Just what can Congressman Issa do if all witnesses refuse to cooperate in any way? If he can do nothing of substance to effect them, I guess they are fools to testify or fools to be honest. If Issa is “doing the best he can under the circumstances”, why is it that he is not holding hearings every day and publicly questioning these Communists (even if they plead the 5th to every question? It is as if his hearings are a feckless ruse that merely allows the un-Constitutional corruption to continue while he asks a few (unanswered) questions and issues further “harshly worded” letters. Just where are the results of these various hearings?

IF Lew is in fact withholding key documents, then it’s 90% certain this goes back to Obama himself.

Its difficult to tell if this was intentional or just indicative of the normal poor quality of government “output”. IMO it is likely that feds produced this stuff rather than contractors, which normally do all the real work. Contractors are held to high professional work standards and probably wouldn’t produce anything this bad. The only question here is was it intentional or not. Either way, the committee should come down hard on the IRS for being given garbage like this. Hold someone accountable for once!!!!!
