Vanity: WHY ARE EMBASSIES CLOSED? FOR DECLARATIONS OF WAR, USUALLY!
a little bird | 8/6/2013 | RaceBannon

I have to ask, think this through, what has been the reason for a series of embassies to ever close in our past history?

Are we so scared of a group that was once defeated that we cower in fear like this? Or does Obama have other plans?

Embassies, closed, this many, at the same time...only in time of war, folks, only in time of war

Obama has other plans with the ultimate goal of weakening our military.

No no - Obama has already told us that the war on terror is basically over.

Nothing to see here.

It’s not because of that. You’re thinking about during normal times with a normal President. This guy is an amateur. They’re scared shitless and I predict NOTHING happens.

I don’t think war, but I do think AQ has a significant WMD.

With all the upheaval in Syria etc. and AQ basically running the show there...AQ has crested the ‘super power’ hill with the acquisition of some sort of WMD.

Race, I hate to say it, but I think this is the reason. The man has made it abundantly clear for the last six years that he thinks we can have peace by refusing to fight. Since our enemies don't think like that, his only choice is to cower in fear.

What should we expect from a clique that allowed an American Ambassador and his entourage to be undefended and murdered and then lied to try to cover up that terrorists did it? The terrorists know exactly what they are dealing with. It's we Americans who are too stupid to figure it out.

I’d love to get the ISRAELI take on these closings.

being that they are our long term friends and in the middle of all this geographically.

I smell something that “aint” roses!

I am thinking that in THIS case, the administration will not/cannot make a decision to defend them.

It is all part of a predetermined and systematic ‘stand-down’ prior to the reduced global role “O” wants for the US in the future. Handing-off US foreign policy and autonomy to the UN would require this.

At the same time I guess, “O” wants the continued influence, power and respect that goes with a committed and strong US... go figure.

Everything about this administration is wholly incongruous with wanting and assuring a strong, free and influential US.

For which he will be glad to take full credit.

Imagine for a moment, the police have credible evidence that a bank was to be robbed. Would they close all the banks or stake them out and capture the bad guys?

What action did the Ob-amateur take?

When I was in the Portugal embassy in 2002, it was protected by only 2 marines.
I suspect the problem is universal.

Nobody points out that closing an embassy out of fear is a tremendous slap in the face of the host country. You are telling the world this country cannot protect my embassy. We are telling the world we have no confidence in the host country.

The embassies and consulates are closed to the public. They are still functioning and they are staffed by our personnel. This has happened many times before, but usually on a case by case basis in a particular country. Tempest in a tea pot.

No, it’s totally embarrassing. The once great United States cowers in fear before a bunch of third world thugs with computers and look what they have caused. Dozens of US embassies around the world closed indefinitely on the postings and rants of a handful of religious zealots. And they haven’t fired a single shot..................

Based on things we know and things we do not, I also feel that Obama is closing the embassies ahead of the "shiite" hitting the fan in the Mid-East...............

The Marine Security Guard does not protect the Embassy. The host government is primarily responsible for defending the embassy against domestic, external attacks. The Marines are responsible for interior defense and the protection of classified material.

The smallest MSG contingent is six personnel. Some diplomatic missions do not have marines.

I would not put anything past Obama or his goons. As long as it isn’t in the best interests of the United States.

Obama declare war?? Ha! No. This is just a show of submission to Allah for the end of RamadaInn—the symbolic removal of “American Soil” from Dar al Islam.
