RUSH: There is a somewhat shocking report that I came across today at a website run by Doug Ross. It's called the Conservative Report. Doug Ross maintains here that Valerie Jarrett gave the orders to stand down in Benghazi. Valerie Jarrett, who constitutionally is not in the chain of command and cannot do that. And that's why this, if true, is a bombshell. Valerie Jarrett nixed the raid on bin Laden three separate times, remember, and the adults had to come in and basically act on the intel that they had as to where bin Laden was. It was Valerie Jarrett who put off three separate times an attack to either capture or kill bin Laden.
It was Panetta and Hillary and some others, apparently, who just finally overruled her and started the operation. They pulled Obama off the golf course for the photo op-ed, after the event had already begun. But Doug Ross is saying here: "Confidential sources close to Conservative Report have confirmed that Valerie Jarrett was the key decision-maker for the administration, the night of the Benghazi terrorist attack on 9/11/2012. The chronology of the evening of 9/11 are as follows:
"At approximately 5 PM Washington time, reports came in through secure-channels that Special Mission Benghazi was under attack. Secretary of Defense, Leon Panetta and Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff, General Martin Dempsey summoned the President, and briefed him on the crisis, face to face." And remember, this is the meeting where Obama is reported to have said to both -- well, actually all three, Panetta, Martin Dempsey, the chairman of the Joint Chiefs, and Hillary. "You guys do what you have to do," and he vanishes. This is the best intel that we've got. And the story for the longest time, "Where was Obama?" Because he was off the grid for the next seven hours. Nobody knew where he was. And, remember, throughout all of this, we're all asking, "Who issued the order to stand down?" Because that can only come from the top.
I don't know how many times that I made the statement on this program, "The secretary of defense cannot order people to stand down. The secretary of defense cannot order, on the other hand, forces from, say, Italy to enter the theater and engage. That has to come via the chain of command. That has to come from the top, and the top in this case is Obama, not an aide." So if this is true, this really, really is a bombshell.
Well, this story has made the big time, so Doug Ross better not be pulling this out of his arse.
The US Congress simply does not care.

1) Only the POTUS can authorize a CBA (cross border authority) command for a rescue mission in a foreign nation.
Plus Fact Two:
2) No rescue mission was attempted.
Equals Fact Three:
3) 0bama turned his back on 41 State Dept. and CIA employees refusing to issue a CBA command and went to bed so he could go to Las Vegas the next day.

The WH has declined, repeatedly, to describe his whereabouts.
Kind of makes you go “hmmmmmmmmm.”
Sounds to me like Barry had an appointment in Boystown, and he wasn’t going to miss it for anything as trivial as a murdered Ambassador.

The president has to affirmatively allow military action in other countries.
Was there a scheme so Obama could give the military “cross border authority” yet prevent it from acting through other means?

Woodrow Wilson suffered a debilitating stroke and spent the last six months of his Presidency incapacitated. This fact was kept from all but a tight circle of confidants (a MSM reporter actually facilitated this by writing and publishing a fake interview indicating that Wilson was okay). During this time, Wilson’s wife, Edith, made all his decisions and acted basically as the de-facto President until Warren G. Harding was sworn in. Only years later did historians learn of this.

Obama has a record of utter unbelievability, but I don’t understand the point of your question unless you believe it is a viable conservative strategy to combat lies with lies.
I do not believe that this would be a good way to defeat Obama-ism and that is why I am asking about Ross’s history of credibility.
How high did he go? My guess he was incapacitated. One of the original comments was “0 was sleeping”. Those who have lived with an active addict knows that SLEEPING is code for passed out!

Why would ANYONE else be making his decisions for him that night?
The key to Benghazi is what was Obama doing the night of September 11th?
When we know that, we will know what kind of people we really are by what our response is.

A sleeping president can be awoken. No president is ever “unavailable”- surely their whereabouts are always known.
That leaves 3 scenarios for me...
1. He was in a “state” that could only resolved by time and sleep (alcohol? Drugs?-that sort of thing)
2. He slipped the Secret Service again (remember in the first term? When he allegedly ditched his detail to watch “soccer”?)
Or
3. He simply refused to deal with it. He voted “present” again and shrugged it off to Valerie or Panetta- or Hillary
Either way - we know he was not in the Situation Room or they would have released that photo prior to the election.

The nit picky difference is that Jarrett likely told the Sec-Def that “The Prez is NOT providing Cross Border Authority”
The net effect is the same as a “stand down” order, but there’s technical difference.

He was probably doing drugs. Smoking weed or doing coke, and freaked when he heard the screams and desperate pleas for help. Unable to deal, he withdrew..

Was he held accountable when he closed the car dealerships? When he buzzed Manhattan with Air Force One? When drug lords killed with our weapons?
Accountable for election fraud?
Will he be held accountable for the drones? The snooping? Political targeting?

Rush’s “Constitutional authority” comment is either an example of Rush thoughtlessly mailing it in, or it is some kind of insider tweak. Is Rush hinting at a paper or e- trail?
If the chain of command takes some aide’s word for it, what’s the Constitutional problem? Aren’t the chain of command details between the President and the DoD left up to the WH itself?

OK. Let’s say Jarrett told Panetta and Dempsey that no assistance was to be given. Pretty easy to determine. Bring Panetta and Dempsey in and put them under oath and ask them.
This is easy to cover with an agreed upon lie by Obama and Jarrett UNLESS they can show Obama being someplace else.
It’s also too easy. Obama could just say he never told her that and throw her under the bus.
