Worries over toxic algae, bacteria in St. Lucie River grow, as some worry about long-term impact
STUART, Fla. -- Tests from the Department of Environmental Protection have confirmed that blue-green algae discovered in the St. Lucie River is releasing toxins harmful to people and pets, as worries about the long-term impact of this continue to grow.
Check the US Bureau of Commercial Fisheries, 1895, IIRC, and there one finds a report of a massive die off in Florida Bay.
For what it is worth, in the past, the outgoing tide running under what is now Bahia Honda Bridge was fresh water.
Events in nature take place on a time scale rather longer than the American electoral cycles.
These die off events occurred before “White, Eurocentric, un-environmentally sensitive” cities existed in South Florida. They are occurring now, and will occur again in the future until South Florida is once again submerged.
Fire agencies and remove egulations, IF the preservation of the American Republic is of any interest to yhou.
America has gone de facto commie and “created
swarms of officers to eat out our substance”. “Officers” then meant what ‘Agencies and AgencyPersons’ means in more modern American English
‘member that line? Hint: it is found in a document critical in American history.
So, in FL, you generally point the finger at Sugar, citrus, and cattle
The florida taxpayer spends a lot of money for the state to treat this pollution and all attempts to push the costs onto the generators have always failed.
Your last Gov wanted the state to buy as much of US Sugar's land as possible and take it out of production, saying it would be cheaper than cleaning up US Sugar's pollution.
Until Scott was elected, teh Sheeple of FloriDuh were generally supportive of environmentalism. That is a socio-political movement with a flavor of science.
Science and the rare scientists who are not dependent on Federal money, or state money, recognized the sheer delusion of a water phosphorus standard for water entering Everglades National Park which was lower than the rain falling on the Everglades Ag Area.
Those who want the rain changed need prayer, not legislation. However, as the Upper Office isn’t taking calls on the suggestion line (let alone on the “Commandment Revision” line), the soi dissant Environmental Movement Leaders sold eco-socialism to a public dumbed down by generations of socialist educators all the way back to Dewey and Mann.
This pile of faulty premises was touted by LameSteram Media.
The Pooblik Skrewl Products(AKA Low Information Voters) got what their own ignorance deserved. In the Everglades, all species decreased except the population of AgencyPersons. An equally noxious and non-native species also did well - Pythons.
Summation: The Everglades now has a bumper crop of the infamous AgencyPerson ‘Snake in the Grass’(’sawgrass’ in this case) and now has real “Snakes In The Grass” such as python and even Green Anaconda.
You have to clean the nitrates and phosphates out of the water before you drink it.
“You have to clean the nitrates and phosphates out of the water before you drink it.”
Agreed.
Nitrates/phosphates are fertilizers, food for plants.
Just run that water through the sawgrass and the problem will solve itself. Let the sawgrass and the cattails fight it out.
The Clean Air/Water Acts are, IMHO, part and parcle of teh “Great UnNatural Acts - WIlderness Act, Endangered Species Act, ad nauseam.
Why re they “UnNatural Acts”?
The Wilderness Act mandates “wilderness” and defined it as - “an area of the earth and its community of life, which is untrammeled by the presence of Man”.
Too bad they didn’t ask scientists, who could have told Congress the reality and impact of the more than 10,000 year long history of anthropogenic fire and hunting on the flora/fauna of North America.
Scratch “Wilderness”.
Forward! See - I speek Librul 2. ;-) ;-)
Now, time to debunk the “Endangered Species Act”. This commie power grab proposes to outlaw extinction. Stand by for Congress outlawing Climate Change, and spring high tides.
As for teh Clean Air Act, a 1615 sship’s log notes: “Ye coast could be smelt before it could be seen”. Smoke from anthropogenic fire management practices was part of teh North American history for millenia.
All the Great UnNatural Acts did is what they were designed to do - destroy American economy and social structure.
They worked as desiggned.
Either repeal them or the Republic dies.
PS The Republic is “in extremis” as I type due to the UnNatural Acts and the rest of communism in America.
Evidently not. Read the article and look at the pictures.
I don't think you comprehend the scale of synthetic fertilizer produced from hydrocarbons and potash.
