It happened around 12:55 a.m. when the 54-year-old homeowner returned home to find an unknown man standing in her doorway and a car parked in her driveway. When she asked him what he was doing in her home, a second man emerged from the car.

“Safe — Deposit — Box”

Nope... the biggest thieves out there is the FED. In the past the fed raided safety deposit boxes for gold...

“Safe — Deposit — Box”

Yep. “Safe” as in “Safe in the hands of the Obumma regime”

Thanks for your deposit, Citizen! It will returned to you with interest as soon as the war/crisis/pandemic is over. Here is a pretty piece of paper for now.

“...the 54-year-old homeowner returned home to find an unknown man standing in her doorway...” so she pulled her 9mm from her purse and double tapped him and then his accomplice as he emerged from the car, in her direction.....

That’s how the story should have ended!

That sucks, I bet he brought a coin online and the thieves targeted him due to his large coin purchases.

I have been hearing rumors of this going on.

Any safe that doesn’t require at least an eight man crew with jack hammers, cutting torches, twenty ton crane, and backhoe has no business being called “safe”!

Another reason why I tend to shy away from “Social Media” websites like FB

I have a FB account and a couple of other Social Media accounts that I use for browser compatibility testing, but I put very little info on them and sometimes made up stuff or place-holder text (Lorem ipsum dolor) in some of the fields.

I have very few FB “friends” because they are people that I’ve actually known and am friends with, including a few that I have met online on common interest web-sites.

I’ve met up with other Conservatives, other Corvette enthusiasts (I currently don’t own one right now, but had a few in the past) firearm and knife forums and Sports/NFL fans that I’ve met in person to tailgate with after having years of online chats with them.

My Mother’s Maiden name isn’t on there, nor is my DOB as I use a fictitious one, etc...

OTOH, I see many people posting very personal details about themselves that would be a treasure trove for ID thieves.

Then they wonder how someone stole their ID or broke into their home when they were away on vacation.

Get safes, fill them with rocks. Let the thieves take 'em.

Keep the goodies in a dusty cardboard box somewhere else. Wrap 'em in plastic if you have to to keep the damp out.

The safes will have done their job, the thieves will be thwarted, and you'll still have your stuff.

I told my friend to fill the vacant space in his safe with lead bricks so that only a crane could lift it. It works.

Add a lead pot and a bullet mold and he can keep the old muzzle loader going for a long time, too. (or make fishing sinkers)

Not a promising line if you are a thief, I would think, given that the original thief is likely the online advertiser, and your haul will be limited to whatever garbage said vendor managed to foist off on your vic.

Really, any safe that can be picked up and carried off isn’t very “safe”.

If you can move a safe, it’s not a safe, it’s a lockbox.

Re your post #4, in this situation would the owners have been better off with “Safe—Deposit—Box” or not?
