Tens of thousands of ObamaCare navigator jobs are opening up as part of the health insurance exchanges that are being constructed around the country. It is reported that these jobs will start around $20 per hour and go all the way up to $48 per hour for the federal exchange. The states that are creating their own exchanges will be responsible for hiring and training their own navigators and assisters so details of what they may be paid are hard to find.
ObamaCare Navigator Job Qualifications
You will not have to have a college degree to have this job but the exact qualifications will vary depending on where you live. In order to get a federal navigator job you will have to pass an online exam and show that you understand the ACA and are unbiased. The requirement to pass an online exam is also a high probability for the states that have their own exchanges. It may be quite hard to get these jobs if you are unfamiliar with the health care industry and insurance in general.
The honest truth is that the Affordable Care Act (which is also called ObamaCare) is behind schedule and most everyone associated with the roll out is trying to beat the clock as the deadline approaches. When October 1, 2013 arrives, you can be confident that there will be many bumps in the road for all the state health marketplaces as well as the federal exchange. That means hiring for navigator/assister jobs will most likely be happening across the country for many months to come.
How To Find A Navigator Job
Insurance exchange navigator jobs are going to be available through all sorts of organizations such as church groups, chambers of commerce, Planned Parenthood, Native American tribes, ACORN, unions, senior citizen groups, as well as through health centers and companies in the health care field. These jobs CANNOT be found in one place online or offline.
Right now if you go online and Google “health insurance navigator jobs” you won’t get many results that look promising because few of the jobs are being advertised online. Your best odds of getting these jobs is to do a lot of legwork by contacting and talking to people who are associated with any of the groups listed above. You need to make contacts and ask questions until you find someone who can steer you in the right direction for your city or area.
Your chances of finding work will depend somewhat on what state and city you live in. For instance, California is reported to be hiring upwards of 20,000 navigators but most states will hire many less than that. At this time some states are in the process of hiring while other states haven’t even completed building their marketplaces yet so they are not hiring.
Keep meeting people, calling people, and asking questions. At this early date, gathering information on your own is the best way to find a job as an ObamaCare health insurance marketplace navigator.

And that is how an entitlement becomes entrenched: bloat the bureaucracy that administers it so big and so fast that’s there’s no way to end it without massive layoffs and the political suicide that comes with it.

want to bet the lower jobs don’t include health benefits and the higher ones are exempted from obamacare??
What will really make the navigator job worthwhile will be that navigators will be exempt from obamacare.
It would be the right thing to do, as they will have as much power over you as Senators and their staff.

Pass an Online test, Gee that could be tough with mother brother sister and three tutors there to help you with it.
What ever happened to appearing in person and being monitored during the test.
My guess is this is why the IRS was asking for Tea Party membership and donor lists. These names will be excluded from consideration for ObamaCare jobs.
I wonder how much $$ insurance agents will have to kick back to these “Navigators”?
