Posted on 08/07/2013 7:39:14 PM PDT by WilliamIII
It sounds like a small-bore infraction: Liz Cheney, a United States Senate candidate in Wyoming, bought a state fishing license last summer even though she had not lived in the state for a year, as required.
But the matter has inflamed her critics in the state, who have already labeled her an interloper and taken issue with her challenge to Senator Michael B. Enzi in next years Republican primary. Mr. Enzi is a popular three-term incumbent who is as conservative as Ms. Cheney.
Its a serious misstep, said Liz Brimmer, a Republican strategist in Wyoming and former chief of staff to former Senator Craig Thomas, a Republican. Allegedly poaching in a state where being a resident sportsman is, by law, an earned privilege. Wyoming people will take this very seriously.

I wonder if maybe they might also find her HS and college school records and old school friends in their search through her drawers?
Unless the Republicans decide to fight like these bastards, all is lost.
it is a folking stupid law that wouldn’t let a tourist buy a fishing license, what is the state thinking
Unless the Republicans decide to fight like these bastards,
Uh, Liz is fighting another Republican - Sen. Enzi.
it is a folking stupid law that wouldnt let a tourist buy a fishing license,
If I understand the article correctly, anybody can buy a license, it just costs less for residents
This came from the New York Times.
I like this race.
The law is absurd.
So it doesn’t apply to Liz Cheney?
You can buy an out of state fishing license. Everywhere I’ve been, you have to show your state drivers license when you get an in-state fishing license.
This came from the New York Times.
It’s in the Wyoming papers as well. Are you glad Liz Cheney is running against a Republican Senator, instead of against Virginia’s Democratic Senator?
It takes a whole lot of gall to pretend this is an issue, in the climate of government these days. Good grief.
You can buy a non resident one day license.
It takes a whole lot of gall to pretend this is an issue
It wouldn’t be an issue if, instead of moving to Wyoming to spend money against a sitting Republican senator, Ms. Cheney stayed in Virginia to challenge that state’s Democrat senator.
However, if I move from, Iowa to Minnesota or Missouri or other nearby states, I can get an in-state hunting or fishing license as soon as I get a drivers license in that state.
A one year wait is ridiculous.
The state is thinking that residents and none residents should pay different amounts to fish so they created resident and non-resident fishing licenses -- most states have them. Cheney in this case bought a resident fishing license and that's what the reasonable criticism is about.
I’m just glad she’s running.
Since when did residency become such an issue?
Lugar didn’t live in IN for 3 decades that he was their Senator.
Sorry...I just see this as a Cheney-bash
I just see this as a Cheney-bash
Hey, Liz Cheney’s getting ready to spend probably hundreds of thousands if not millions of dollars to bash Republican Sen. Enzi. (Instead of staying in Virginia and challenging its Democrat Senator). She’s starting the bashing — already calling Enzi, who’s 69, “confused.” Looks like she was “confused” when she bought an in-state license when she was ineligible.
I’ll bet she leaves the seat down too.
Don’t vote for her.
Just out of curiosity, which of the two Cheney or the incumbent, is more conservative?
“Republican strategist” = RINO enabler
Obozo's NSA is caught spying on Americans, and NOT on the terrorists;
The IRS is caught improperly holding up applications of Conservative groups for 503 status;
Evidence of voter fruad by democrats results in convictions;
Obozo, Hitlery, Jerritt cover up Benghazi;
Anthony Weiner, Eliot Spitzer, and Bob Filner (sexual misconduct);
Charlie Rangel (White Cracker comment);
Sharpton, Jackson, Obozo, and various other democratic politicians after the George Zimmerman verdict (race baiting);
various other democrats in the past two months who have made the most audacious statements and were NEVER called to answer for anything they have said.
Liz Cheney purchased a fishing license wrongly! Wow. What a deep and personal affront to the American people!!!!! She needs to be tarred and feathered, then drawn and quartered/s
Every real resident of Wyoming is fully familiar with the statute and its requirements.
Why is she challenging Enzi? I thought he was solidly conservative. I did a cursory check, the ACU gives him a 93% and the Christian Coalition gives him 100%.
Wow, the Enzi gang must be scared shiteless if they’re stooping to this kind of stuff this early. Go Liz!
Liz is not who the Establishment wants, so . . . everything will be an “issue.”
are you saying the Cheneys have no roots in Wyoming?
>> Just out of curiosity, which of the two Cheney or the incumbent, is more conservative?
Well, Enzi is in favor of bringing jobs back to America, whereas Cheney is on record as not giving a sh!t about that.
That’s all you, personally, need to know. :-)
(Just yanking your chain... FRegards)
People who make false statements under oath regarding residency commit a felony, but the maximum sentence appears to be only two years in prison.
>> are you saying the Cheneys have no roots in Wyoming?
No. I am saying that LIZ CHENEY (remember her? She’s the one running for office!) has essentially no roots in Wyoming.
Look it up.
“The Cheneys” are not contending for the seat. LIZ Cheney is.
A tourist should buy an out-of-state license. They are readily available, even though they cost more than an in-state license.
People in rural areas are pretty adamant about wildlife issues.
Hey just this once, I wasn’t asking about that.
But thanks for the input!
I’m going to follow this race I think. No big reason, but it looks interesting.
>> the Christian Coalition gives him 100%.
Wonder what the Christian Coalition would give Liz, since she worships at Satan’s altar of “homosex is just an alternative lifestyle”.
I ask again....what do “roots” have to do with anything?
Dick Lugar had “roots” in Indiana, but, for 40 years, his “heart” was in DC.
What’s the difference?
>> But thanks for the input!
You’re welcome, happy to spout off, but don’t take it seriously. ;-)
>> Im going to follow this race... it looks interesting.
>> Dick Lugar had roots in Indiana, but, for 40 years, his heart was in DC.
Thanks for making my point.
not unless you can point out where Enzis heart is
I know where Cheney’s heart is. Washington, DC.
And Cheney’s is the heart of one who will work hard to hand America over to the faggot lobby. She is a tool of Satan himself.
NO LIZ CHENEY. Ever. For any elective office. Unless she repents from her position on homosex. She’s a tool. She has been compromised by the forces of evil.
By the way, how do you feel about abortion? ‘cause your friend Liz is squishy about baby-killing too.
If she were to be incarcerated . . .
Taxing out-of-state sales over the Internet isn't conservative.
“Well, much as I like and respect DICK Cheney, Ill go out on a limb and say that I hope this faggot-loving carpetbagger LIZ Cheney goes down in spectacular flames... after wasting so much money that she NEVER has the capability to rise from the ashes.”
You do realize that her sister is gay, and that Liz loves her sister, as does her father and mother.
Is that her reason for challenging him?
>> You do realize that her sister is gay, and that Liz loves her sister, as does her father and mother.
I *do* realize that.
There’s a huge difference between wrestling with a personal problem within your family, and pushing government-enforced evil upon an entire nation as an outworking of that personal problem.
Do *you* realize *that*?
Where is Enzi on these topics?
Not exactly a national figure as a Senator.
>> Where is Enzi on these topics?
I’ve done *my* homework on this.
You do your own.
which one is for gay marriage?
Not exactly a national figure
And that’s reason to challenge him, because he isn’t all over the TV like Goober Graham and Don McCain?
