Thirty Cincinnati-area law enforcement officers committed felonies by using stations instead of home addresses on voter registrations, but get warning letters.
((snip))
Hamilton County is a politically mixed region that includes a large African-American Democratic base in Cincinnati and predominantly Republican suburbs. It voted 50-48 percent for Barack Obama over Mitt Romney in 2012

One guess which party they voted for.
The candidate who won?
Typically, when guys do something like this....they don’t live in that city, that county, and often not even in that state. So they might get the warning letters...but it’d be curious to have the thirty note in public....where they do live. I’d be willing to bet that half live in another state.
With the number (30) it sounds like it was an organized effort as opposed to an isolated incident. And we know for a fact there was other voter fraud in Oh10.

Uhmmm....
I was shocked to receive a commercial mail offer from a franchise hair cutting business in my home mailbox .....offering me a ‘law enforcement discount’.
I was torqed about it, and called the manager to find out how she got that information. “Voter registration records....available for a fee from City Hall.”
Public information....sold to whomever. Some folks have a legitamate reason for masking trade or addy. If the fellas were intending to defraud...bag ‘em. But there is another motivation. Slow down.
Just the tip of one of the icebergs.

This is where the state needs to step in and prosecute.
They’re cops. They should get the same benefit of the doubt they give the general public; none.
next administration needs to prosecute.
or, it will get much worse and they’ll lose control - and they can’t have that happen
One of these days we should round them all up, all leftists and simply prosecute all the crimes that went unpunished under Obama
Can voters file suit or would it even matter in this America?
“Id be willing to bet that half live in another state.”
Yup! Across the river in Covington. Cheaper than living in Cincy.
For crying out loud, this article is BALDERDASH!
I’m a former police officer here in a Cincinnati suburb. Ohio law allows LEOs to list their department headquarters as their address for voter registration as a protective measure for the officers and their families.
THAT’S why you see NO disciplinary actions against these officers. They did NOTHING wrong.
As for which party they voted for, that could be anybody’s guess.
Thanks for the info. It’s good to have light here, when this could have generated heat, instead.
As for businesses offering law enforcement discounts, it’s been common for over one hundred years. It’s cheap security to have uniformed law enforcement in your business.
The whole “cops and donuts” schtick extends from this. Years ago many small towns only had donut shops open during the graveyard shift. If a cop wanted a hot cup of coffee the shops offered them for free. As the only joint open overnight donut shops were targets for armed robbery. A cop enjoying a cup of joe and a cruler was cheap security in those days.
“Only if they have “standing”. These days, you seem to have to be in a victim class in order to have standing with the courts.”
But unfortunately we have a Government Elite legal system which only applies to non-government citizens.
We have been had and if we do not take back this government to its Constitutional limits we are all fools who deserve the slavery which is at our door step.
To Protect and Serve whoever promises the biggest pension.
I wonder why the media can manage to find names, numbers and addresses in these type of stories, but can never seem to find out how these people voted.
Yet another benefit of being a part of one of the special protected classes in america today.
Bump for later.
Inasmuch as being good, anyone can get goodness for free from God. All it costs is your love, but you get a goodness that is worth $JESUS. The devil really is a little runt but he puts up a huge smoke screen to keep us from realizing exactly this.
When can I expect to get my "get out of jail free" card in the mail?

“Yet another benefit of being a part of one of the special protected classes in america today.”
Really!?! You see NO COMMON SENSE in allowing LEOs to protect their families from the criminal element? Really!?!
“To protect and serve” does not mean exposing your loved ones to unnecessary risks. Show a little understanding and compassion please.
It’s time for vigilantes to bury these criminals who committed voter fraud!
“protect their families from the criminal element”
Unless these cops commit suicide or are jailed their families LIVE WITH the criminal element.
WOW! When did FreeRepublic become anti law enforcement?
the Cops ARE the criminals in that city!
(by posting about a subject matter with which you're actually familiar)

Lived in Anderson Twp. for several years, seems to me there was a requirement that Cincinnati police officers were required to live in Hamilton County.
I see common sense in alowing EVERYBODY to protect their families from the criminal element. Equally. Don't you?
No. Sorry, I don’t see the need. Being a cop isn’t even a particularly dangerous job in this country, despite all the hand-wringing about it. It’s this type of legislation that pushes the whole ‘us vs them’ meme that seems to be so prevalent in law enforcement today. Contrary to your claim, it has nothing to do with ‘common sense’, and everything to certain sectors feeling that they are owed some special accomodation just for doing a job that they freely signed up to do.
Zeug, unless you have ever put on a badge and worked the streets you have no idea what you are speaking of. There were plenty of nights when I came home sore and tired after wrestling uncooperative drunk drivers to the ground, pulling crazy men off of their wives/girlfriends only to get an elbow or a fist to the head - sometimes from the wofe/girlfriend, backing up a neighboring department on a bank robbery call or fighting some kid cranked up on drugs. The overwhelming majority of police officer injuries on the job never make it into the news. The officer writes up his report for resisting, patches himself up and gets back to work.
Unless very real physical threats to your safety are a daily part of your job, I find your comments uninformed and off base.
