HAG NAGS HUSBAND BEYOND EDGE OF SANITY
Friday, Dec 7, 2012 by Yosemitest
Distant relatives called me yesterday and said look up Mary Ann Castleman of Springfield, Florida.
The article Police: Man says he's unsure of why he killed wife, father-in-law caught my eye first.
Ricardo Reynolds had reported the double murders (watch video report) to Springfield Police.
WTYV Channel 4 of Dothan AL reported:"Springfield Police said a tip from a neighbor led to the gruesome discovery Monday afternoon.
"He called my phone and told me to come over there. I saw his wife naked on the floor. She was stabbed and cut. She had a spirit of shock all over her face. Her dad was face down on the floor. He was covered up and he was pretty badly bruised," said next-door neighbor Ricardo Reynolds.
Springfield Police Chief Phillip Thorne says the last time Mary Ann Castleman was believed to have been seen alive was last Wednesday, a day before Thanksgiving."
The News Herold reported:"A father and his daughter had been dead for several days before police found their bodies in a mobile home Monday afternoon and charged her husband in the deaths. ...
... Springfield Police Chief Phillip Thorne said the death of 47-year-old Mary Ann Castleman and her 74-year-old father, Leroy Milton Minnich, appeared to be the result of a domestic dispute between Castleman and her husband, Brian Keith Castleman.
... One neighbor described Castleman as a friend, and he said Castleman told him Friday that he would kill his wife.
On Friday, Castleman came to Ricardo Reynolds and said hed been in fight with his wife, and the two went out to forget his troubles. Reynolds noticed his friends hand was cut, but Castleman explained the injury as the result of him breaking a glass in his hand during the argument.
Reynolds said he confronted his neighbor early Sunday morning because he hadnt seen any activity at the residence since Friday.
He just started breaking down, Reynolds said. I said, Did you kill your wife?
Castleman told Reynolds he ambushed his wife with a hammer as she got out of the shower Friday. Reynolds said Castleman took him inside the residence and showed him the bodies of his wife and her father. Reynolds said they had been beaten and stabbed.
It was enough to make somebody just break down and cry and panic, Reynolds said Monday.
Reynolds said Castleman cried for a while after showing him the scene. Reynolds sat down in the other room and waited, then he cussed Reynolds out and told him to turn himself in. Then he prayed with Castleman, Reynolds said.
Reynolds believed Castleman felt deep remorse over the killings afterward, and he said Reynolds told him hed snapped when he killed them.
He was saying, I wouldve killed anybody whod stand in my way, Reynolds said.
Reynolds said he notified police Monday morning.
Thorne described the slayings as the ultimate domestic violence situation. Reynolds and another neighbor said Castleman and his wife were having trouble in their relationship.
Neighbors Tara Warren and Melissa Gossett said Minnich was older and in poor health. They would see him outside the house often but said he kept to himself.
Castleman had only recently moved to the neighborhood, according to Gossett, Warren and Rhonda, a woman who lives next door and asked that her name be withheld.
Rhonda said she had few interactions with Castleman, whom she knew as Keith, and that the times they had talked left her feeling uneasy about her neighbor. She described him as creepy in a general sort of way.
The last time Rhonda talked to Castleman was Sunday night, when Castleman arranged for a man to return several items of Rhondas property that had been stolen from her home Thursday or Friday.
Rhonda said she agreed not to press charges in exchange for what remained of her property, but as the man was apologizing to her, Castleman made an odd comment.
Last night he told me he was getting a divorce, Rhonda said Monday."
I knew her as Maryann Minnich Scott, a.k.a. Mary Ann Scott, Maryan Scott, and sometimes she'd order checks with next door neighbors' first names.
She had married someone I knew, and had been a constant thorn in my relatives' side for several years.
My sympathies go out two her two sons and daughters, where every they are.
Maryann was constantly yelling at her two children and her ex-husband when I knew here.
She never cooked, and made her children clean. Constantly yelling at her overworked ex-husband he always seemed tired and run down.
After they divorced because of her wanting to rejoin her boyfriend who had just gotten out of prison, we constantly got calls from bill collectors where she had written overdrawn checks under numerous aliases.
For a short time she moved to Callaway, FL close to Panama and Tyndal AFB.
Then she later moved to Teepee Rd, Navarre FL and there were many police calls to her residence because of domestic disputes.
Her son Matthew as been in trouble with the law many times, and we occasionally get calls from bill collectors for his bad checks.
Police wanting to know more should check into Maryann's many false identities.
That woman was very difficult on anyone who knew her.

Ray Dononvan is really good! Its up there with the Sopranos. Different show but equally as good, worth whatever the charge is.
Donovan doesn't always play by the rules but he always gets the job done. Sort of a Dirty Harry 21st century.

The structure of the Swiss militia system stipulates that the soldiers keep their own personal equipment, including all personally assigned weapons, at home (until 2007 this also included ammunition[3]). Compulsory military service concerns all male Swiss citizens, with women serving voluntarily. Males usually receive initial orders at the age of 18 for military conscription eligibility screening. About two-thirds of young Swiss men are found suitable for service, while alternative service exists for those found unsuitable.[4] Annually, approximately 20,000 persons are trained in basic training for a duration from 18 to 21 weeks (increased from 15 weeks, in 2003).

Oprah Winfrey 'racism row' a 'misunderstanding' (Video at link)
Winfrey, one of the world's richest women, claimed an assistant refused to serve her in an upmarket handbag shop.
She was apparently told one of the bags on display was "too expensive" for her.
Shop owner Trudie Gotz told the BBC that Winfrey was "absolutely allowed" to look at the $35,000 (£22,500) bag, which was kept behind a screen.
"My salesperson wanted to give her the handbag in her hand. But she didn't want to take the bag," claimed Gotz.
She said her assistant had worked in the Trois Pommes store "for a few years and takes care of the most spoilt customers from all over the world", adding, "she is really a correct sales person".
'Didn't understand'
Winfrey, who stars in Lee Daniels' new film The Butler, visited Zurich last month to attend singer Tina Turner's wedding. Her programme The Oprah Winfrey Show is not shown in Switzerland.
Speaking to US TV show Entertainment Tonight, she said: "I go into a store and I say to the woman, 'Excuse me, may I see the bag right above your head?' and she says to me, 'No. It's too expensive.'"
When Winfrey insisted, the shop assistant allegedly replied: "No, no you don't want to see that one, you want to see this one because that one will cost too much. You will not be able to afford that."
The star said she left the shop calmly without arguing, but that the experience was proof that racism continues to be a problem.
"There's two different ways to handle it," she said.
"I could've had the whole blow-up thing... but it still exists, of course it does."
Ms Gotz did not call into question Winfrey's perception of the events.
"I didn't take care of [Winfrey]. I'm sure she felt like this - but my salesgirl promised me she took care of [her] really the best she could. So it must have been a misunderstanding," she said.
Ms Gotz said her assistant spoke both Italian and English, "but her English isn't as good".
"She tried to show Mrs Oprah the same style in other qualities, because maybe she didn't understand what she wanted."
Winfrey's claims come amid a political row over plans by some Swiss towns to ban asylum-seekers from some public places. ...
Winfrey's interview is a public relations disaster for Switzerland, our correspondent says.
