2016: The Year Of The Presidential Woman? (A Paean to Hillary w/brief mention of Palin, other GOP)
WIBW-TV / CBS News ^ | August 9, 2013 | Jake Miller

Many things are not remarkable about the growing list of names bandied about in the 2016 presidential speculation sweepstakes - you've got your governors, your senators, your ambitious House members, your former elected officials and cabinet members, your vice president. Most have been in politics for a long time, and a lot of them have the gray hair to prove it.

One thing that is remarkable about the field, though, is the number of women identified as plausible candidates. It's not just Hillary Clinton, who obviously looms over the race in a way no other candidate, woman or man, does. Between Clinton, Sens. Kirsten Gillibrand, D-N.Y., Amy Klobuchar, D-Minn., Elizabeth Warren, D-Mass., and Kelly Ayotte, R-N.H., Govs. Nikki Haley, R-S.C., Susana Martinez, R-N.M., and Mary Fallin, R-Okla., and cabinet secretaries Janet Napolitano and Kathleen Sebelius, it's a strong bet we'll see more than one woman behind the podium at a presidential primary debate come 2015.

And even at this early stage, interest groups are organizing with unprecedented zeal on behalf of female candidates...

---snip---

And the role of Republicans' 2008 vice presidential nominee, former Alaska Gov. Sarah Palin, should not be overlooked. Schaeffer credited Palin with "beginning to shift the conversation on the conservative side about the need for more women in public office." Many of the Republican women identified as potential 2016 candidates were even endorsed by Palin during prior campaigns, making Palin's stamp on the GOP nominating process - and the women who might take part - impossible to discount.(continued)

former Alaska Gov. Sarah Palin, should not be overlooked.

Well Jake, by burying her all the way down to paragraph 18 and discounting her to merely "shift(ing) the conversation" it's not like you didn't give it a solid try.

Gov. Palin could read the breakfast menu from Jack in the Box over an AM radio show and get more coverage and response than the "obviously looming" Huma-over-Hillary puppet show.

Hillary will never be president—the ‘what difference does it make’ comment will kill her chances. too much baggage for the Hill, also she’s looking OLD—really Over the Hill. Sarah Palin will also never be president—Tina Fey did her in by making her a joke—the media will do everything in their power to make sure she is painted as a stupid beauty queen. How to make money or get fame—say something negative about Sarah Palin —you can write your own ticket. No, another woman will come forward to become the first Lady President—Heck, we have yet to have a Jewish President! Or a Native American or a Latino American, or an Asian. My best guess is that the American people are sick of gimmick presidents and will go for an old white guy next.

Schaeffer credited Palin with "beginning to shift the conversation on the conservative side about the need for more women in public office."

Did Palin ever say there's a need for more women in public office, as this implies?

Why do we need more women in public office?

I do not base my vote on a vagina... I base my vote on the Constitution and the willingness of a candidate to govern using it as his or HER guide. Pi$$ be upon anyone that puts politically correct minority status to something as important as a presidential election. THAT is what is wrong with America today. Now if Palin is on the ticket... I will battle with her through the gates of hell and back... not because she is a woman... not because it is a woman’s time... but because she is a great leader with a deep love of GOD and the Constitution and she is smarter than anyone even remotely connected to the gop/e. satan has already removed the brains from the rats so...

The Congressional Black Caucus (an equal opportunity group) are pushing Sheila for Homeland Security. This is one dumb woman. But what’s worse is her hyphenated name..

Hitlery is a loser. She has a loser track record. If she runs, she will lose again.

Think about it, what on earth could she run on? More of the same that too many have suffered for the past 8 years? Campaign against nobama’s leftist ways? Even many holderites see through her fakery. Run on increasing welfare? That’ll certainly crank up the Right! Run on her successes at SOS?

After all the turmoil with nobama and the results of total dem control after 2008 (nobamacare, no Budgets and pouring our money down a thousand drains), the dems probably recognize that 2016 ain’t going to be another dem win, but they’ll be happy to give hitlery the dem nom, because its her turn and they will finally be done with the klintoons.

The USA is about to make a sharp right turn. This “in yo face WhiteyHut” has done all the wrong things, proudly and nobama will keep bragging and giving us the finger right up to Election Day.

While I agree we are about to take a sharp right, I have zero confidence in the GOP to exploit a sudden large majority; most of them are just fine with the wreckage of obamacare, the threatened immigration amnesty, and Soetoro’s lavish vacations. Hell, they don’t even pay lip service to our outrage and disgust..
