Forty to 50 House Republicans will support immigration reform, Rep. Luis Gutiérrez (D-Ill.) predicted Thursday. Gutiérrez said many of the Republicans supportive of immigration reform don’t want to be identified, but he insisted they would support comprehensive immigration reform.

“If they ask me today, go find those 40 to 50 Republicans, I’ll tell them I found them. I know where they’re at,” Gutiérrez said in an interview with Ed O’Keefe at The Washington Post.

If they think this is such a good idea, why don’t they come out of the immigration closet? This bunch are cowards.

I did a Google search on the Rep and he is the cheerleading force behind immigration “reform.” The cheerleading aspect leads me to believe that he’s making up his claim that these Republicans would support him. If he had solid support he’d have their names in print. So, he’s lying.

BTW, his fellow Representatives probably know full well that he’s a one-string-violin. They probably see him coming and go the other way. (We’ve all worked with somebody like this, so you know the type.)

There will never be another republican president. Between vote fraud, a permanent dependent underclass, limousine liberals and the moron vote and now the illegals, the demhole primary will become the defector presidential election.

.....Gutierrez is making up his claim that 40-50 "unknown" Republicans would support img/reform. If he had solid support he’d have their names in print. So, he’s lying....

You got that right. Guy also believes in the tooth fairy----thinks "wishing" will make it so.

N-o-t-h-i-n-g on earth will kill img/reform faster than hearing this guy say, "We" (meaning the Third World) "got the votes."

==================================================

Sure would like to see Dem internal polls. As this issue gets closer to the crucial midterms.....and as Obama's approval ratings sink....more and more congressmen and senators will be scared to death to get on-board.

BTW..... where's the massive "civil-rights type" marches Schmuckie Schumer threatened Repubs with if they didn't shape up?

As FReeper whatsup insightfully posted: Dems thought they would be WAAAAY ahead in polls on this issue by now. Guess what...they can't get traction.

(Cackle) the longer the issue twists in the wind the more America sides with the GOP ... does not bode well for Dems chances in 2014 midterms.

Isn't it odd that Dems can't seem to grab onto a message that resonates with the public these days....even w/ all that magic in the WH?

ROTFLOL

Mrs. BE and I have already, mentally, set aside the day following the passage of the amnesty bill to go and re-register.

Not sure to what Party yet, but we will no longer be Republicans.

Once again, the republicans have ceded the message to libs. No one from the GOP “leadership” is countering Guiterrez’ claim and pushing back on the insanity of amnesty, so if and when it is defeated in the House by mounting pressure from conservatives, it will be the evil republicans who destroyed the dream.

Rand Paul’s immigration speech

...The Republican Party must embrace more legal immigration.

Unfortunately, like many of the major debates in Washington, immigration has become a stalemate-where both sides are imprisoned by their own rhetoric or attachment to sacred cows that prevent the possibility of a balanced solution.

Immigration Reform will not occur until Conservative Republicans, like myself, become part of the solution. I am here today to begin that conversation.

Let’s start that conversation by acknowledging we aren’t going to deport 12 million illegal immigrants.

If you wish to work, if you wish to live and work in America, then we will find a place for you...

This is where prudence, compassion and thrift all point us toward the same goal: bringing these workers out of the shadows and into being taxpaying members of society.

Imagine 12 million people who are already here coming out of the shadows to become new taxpayers.12 million more people assimilating into society. 12 million more people being productive contributors.

[but he’s not advocating amnesty, snicker, definition of is is ping]

Repubs should comeback w/: “wasn’t us-—the Senate is the one that sabotaged the dream w/ it’s foolish provisions to raise revenues-—a constitutional prerogative that belongs in the house.”
