Critics question IRS initiative targeting small businesses

Small business owners across the country are receiving letters from the IRS questioning if they are reporting all of their cash income, in a new push by the agency some are saying could unnecessarily create fear in the small business community.

The Wall Street Journal reports the initiative is an attempt to respond to what the agency feels is a widespread failure by small businesses to report all their cash sales.

The agency says the letters are not the same as an audit, and it is simply seeking more tax information from the businesses. However, some lawmakers and business owners who received the letters say the initiative is alarming.

"There's an emotional thing when you get a pretty ominous-looking letter from the IRS, [saying] you might have done some bad things," small business owner Tom Reese tells the Wall Street Journal. "I really work hard with my accountant to make sure that I not only follow the law, but follow the letter of the law."

The US is a failed state.

Best is for the Red states to form their own nation(s)- they have food and energy.

They would be free of the NYC nation and any history of slavery.

Fools feel that posting is going to resurrect a dead nation.

Under the Carter administration the IRS targeted small business because small businesses usually don’t have the money to hire lawyers to fight back with. Either way the lawyers win. Just remember that the high cost of justice was one of the main reasons we had a revolution in the first place.

Is the U.S. government reporting all of it’s spending? What about all of those “rogue” IRS agents spending OUR money on strip clubs, porno, hookers, extravagant conferences, and on and on and on.

No, they want to go after those of us who are trying to scrape out a living in this dead economy.

Screw the IRS, the NSA, and most of all...

F U B O!!

This is nothing more than another front of Obama’s war of terror against the United States and Free Enterprise.

What would happen if all small business owners simply stopped collecting payroll taxes for the government?

I think I’d send a letter back to them and ask if they have divested themselves from the rabid liberals, Democratic Operatives, and White House Henchmen they have been infested with since Obama came to power.

Further, I’d tell them if they are so effing worried about how much cash I may or may not take in, and on how much of it I may or may not pay taxes, then quit printing the effing stuff!

I’d tell them that the Mexican and Columbian Cartels would not be happy about not having cash anymore, and that I’d be sending along any IRS names I happen to run across in future from them.

A full scale concentrated effort by small business over a year’s period would seriously harm Obama’s government. NO revenue combined with all the fake electronic scrip they’d have to issue to buy T-bills and buy equities in the stock market would double the deficit in one year’s time.

He couldn’t hide this from the rest of the world, and our economic numbers couldn’t be hidden, either.

When the government becomes destructive of those ends, it is the right, it is the DUTY, of the people to alter or abolish it.

They would sh!t their collective diapers.

This is the ONLY way out that I can see. It will take a concertive effort however. Once the snowball gets going there will be no stopping it because they won't have the resources to jail everybody. Especially if we meet them at the door with shotguns.

I doubt anyone here thinks their posts are actually accomplishing anything except to allow them a venue in which to vent, discuss and feel less alone.

Voting doesn’t work when the system is being rigged.

We have no real representatives, so contacting them is futile. Threatening not to vote for them means little when the vote is rigged.

We have no real privacy except that of our own lonely thoughts or whatever we whisper to the one or the few we can still trust. Complain out loud and be met with jeers and told to stop listening to talk radio, at the least. continue on and the sanctions begin to be applied.

The quick and draconian response by the government to any hint of real organized rebellion is enough to make most people reconsider before saying or doing anything. Our so-called anonymity online is a joke and we all know that.

The day is fast approaching when we won’t even feel secure enough to post these thoughts openly. Might as well take advantage of that limited ability while we still can.

The Red States are as compromised by Federal money and other intrusions as the Blue ones. If you think any so-called Red State is more than rural Red Counties, you are dreaming. A majority of those counties are, in reality, more Purple than Red. Any Red State Governor will confiscate and redistribute in a heartbeat, if the leverage is strong enough.

New Jersey actually grows a lot of food, for example, and California, upstate and Western New York and downstate Illinois could provide energy if they had to. It’s a lot more complicated than some bravado about withdrawing and trading resources for security and independence.

What’s dead is dead. I don’t see how it comes back. Something new may replace the police state we have now, but the old USA is alive only the hearts and memories of those who still remember.

We sold our birthright and the pottage is rancid.

What’s coming? Think Sky Net. Read their own writings. You/we have been targeted for extermination. The funny part, if you can find it, is that after the “right” gets it then the ones who are working in conjunction with “it” will get the same fate. They are the true believers who think that by helping they will be saved.

What can they do, threaten me with eternal life? Ooooo!

Theirs is eternal damnation. Hope they enjoy the sauna.

Just a Nudge here and a nudge there.

I would not be surprised of the Feds tried to make cash traceable for higher denominations with some sort of imbed. People will need to use precious metals and barter.
