Obama’s agenda gets sidetracked
AP via The Journal Gazette ^ | August 11, 2013 | Julie Pace

WASHINGTON – For President Barack Obama, August was supposed to be the time when a major immigration bill landed on his desk.

There was hope for movement on a deficit deal with Republicans, and in the optimistic early days of his second term, even a belief that he would have achieved stricter gun laws.

Instead, Obama finds his fifth year in office beset by distractions, perhaps none with broader implications than the revelation of secret government surveillance programs.

That matter dominated Obama’s hourlong news conference Friday. The issues that the White House had hoped to be promoting this summer? They played a diminished role, if at all.

The deficit is still skyrocketing. Putin laughs at America. Values are crumbling. ObamaCare is still scheduled to destroy the world’s best medical system. I’d say Obama’s agenda is on track.

His agenda to destroy the country as we knew it, continues unabated. This speed bump won’t even slow him down

One step is the creation of an independent attorney to argue against the government during secret hearings of the Foreign Intelligence Surveillance Court

Nixon: "I have a secret plan".

Obama: "I'll appoint a secret attorney".

Yeah. Isn't it odd that Dems can't seem to grab onto a message that resonates with the public these days....even w/ all that "magic" in the WH?

ROTFLOL

Mmmmmmm.....sure would like to see Dem internal polls. As we get closer to the crucial midterms.....and as Obama's approval ratings sink---he's down to 41%....more and more Dems are scared to death.

As FReeper whatsup insightfully posted: Dems thought they would be WAAAAY ahead in polls by now, due to their beating img/reform to death. (Cackle) the longer these issues twist in the wind the more America sides with the GOP ... does not bode well for Dems chances in 2014 midterms. They can't get no traction nohow.

===================================================

Rush brought up a significant point on Greta Sunday night. "2010 midterms was one of the biggest shellackings the Democrat Party had had in a long time. Republicans took back the House....Democrats lost a total, nationwide, all the way down the ballot of over 600 seats, and it was because of Obamacare and the rising debt......and the Tea Party showing up...."

=================================================

MY CONCLUSIONS In Obama, we're up against a seasoned, practiced conman. I gather some of the Repubs are onto him---could explain slow-walking Imig/reform, and so on.

Obama and the Dems are really desperate---they hafta win back the House in 2014 and keep the Senate. They cannot risk another 2010---as the scandals against Obama mount.

So cool con artist Obama poses as the "Good Guy"----trying not to "overreach"---separated from the "phony" scandals---appearing as a genial, cool, love-America guy on Leno----to save 2014, to protect the American people from those "evil Repubs."

A lot of the political kabuki theatre we are seeing could be each side baiting the other to overreach....and Obama resorting to more and more desperation measures.

I’m against ANY House bill AT ALL. NOTHING, NIL, NEGATIVE, ZIPPO, NULL, all that. I don’t want a House bill to become subject to reconciliation with the abortion of a bill the Senate passed. We will get stabbed in the back by Boehner and the GOPe Regime.

Horse hockey. Obama, if he were George W Bush, would have faced relentless media coverage over the nature of the surveillance, the average American would have seen photographs of James Rosen's parents on magazine covers and interviewed on the networks, details of the inner workings of Google and Yahoo and how they supported Obama's campaign would have emerged...

Instead, we get bland generic "NSA surveillance" references in the mainstream media, and it ends there.

Oh, sure, Snowden is talked about, only because it involves Russia...but even that kind of coverage is subdued and buried.

Anyone remember Abu Ghraib, where Islamic terrorists had to wear Christmas lights, or endure women's undies on their heads? Oh, the humanity....the NY Slimes ran with that like a dog in heat.

Obama has gotten a FREE PASS again....see, he is a liberal. And a Democrat. And yes, his race ALSO has played a role in keeping him from getting severely criticized by the mainstream media.

Objective press? Don't make me laugh.

I would say possibly his race-or something we are not currently aware of-plays a very big role in this. The media in the past, although still pure liberal/dem, have reported the truth regarding previous presidents at times.

I think of the economy and Jimmy Carter. These days they don’t even hint Obama’s policies may be to blame for that when everyone knows the truth.

It gets even worse than that...today for instance the commentary in the local press here in Jacksonville was: he is being opposed relentlessly by the GOP and cannot get anything done. Really? His first two years he had both houses, since than he has had the Senate, just not the house. Bush was opposed 100% of the times by the dems including Nancy Pelousy who said: I am not going to let Bush take credit for improving the social security system and the rest of the libtard commie party saying they would oppose everything bush proposed (which actually may not have been as bad as it sounded).

And the Elite Republicans aided by the media managed to neutralize the gains made by the Tea Party and Conservatives without any major damage being inflicted.

Obama and friends will do or say whatever is needed to entice the House to pass 'anything' on immigration in order to get to conference. Oh, what fun Reid, Chuck U and the rest will have then have...slam-dunk rat victories forever.

The House MUST stand firm. NO immigration bills until after the '14 elections.

 Hell, WHICH agenda?

"According to my opinion, and the opinions of many defectors of my caliber, only about 15% of time, money, and manpower is spent on espionage as such. The other 85% is a slow process which we call either ideological subversion, active measures, or psychological warfare. What it basically means is: to change the perception of reality of every American that despite of the abundance of information no one is able to come to sensible conclusions in the interest of defending themselves, their families, their community, and their country.

It's a great brainwashing process which goes very slow and is divided into four basic stages.

The first stage being "demoralization".

It takes from 15 to 20 years to demoralize a nation. Why that many years? Because this is the minimum number of years required to educate one generation of students in the country of your enemy exposed to the ideology of [their] enemy. In other words, Marxism-Leninism ideology is being pumped into the soft heads of at least 3 generation of American students without being challenged or counterbalanced by the basic values of Americanism; American patriotism.

Most of the activity of the department [KGB] was to compile huge amount / volume of information, on individuals who were instrumental in creating public opinion.  Publisher, editors, journalists, uh actors, educationalists, professors of political science.  Members of parliament, representatives of business circles...."

Wasn't he in the low 40s when reelected?

I don't think approval ratings mean a thing. Congress is at 15% or thereabouts and they get reelected every two years, for the most part.

He got ObamaCare passed and Amnesty may be on his desk late this year or early next year.

That is too much agenda not being sidetracked.
