The Crusades Reconsidered
American Thinker ^ | August 11, 2013 | Mike Konrad

One of the idiocies passed off for decades among Western historians is bemoaning the Crusades as evil. The Islamic world -- the Ummah -- has disseminated this imaginary charge against the West, and like fools, we have absorbed Arab lies and taken the blame to heart. But the most superficial reading of Western history should put that canard to rest.

Shortly before he died in June 632 AD, Mohammed ordered Muslims to prepare to wage war against the Eastern Roman (Byzantine) Empire.

Upon his death, Mohammed's successor, Abu Bakr, planned to fulfill those instructions. Plans were also made to conquer Zoroastrian Sassanid Persia.

This vainglorious troop of bandits should have been easily dispatched,

However. Persia and Byzantine Rome had just come out of a savagely vicious war which ended in 628 AD. Emperor Heraclius had finally imposed the total defeat over Persia that had eluded the earlier Roman Republic and the Caesars -- but Byzantine Rome, though victorious, was severely mauled. Persia was reduced to a state of anarchy; and forced to pay indemnities to Constantinople.

The Persian and Eastern Roman empires were attacked almost simultaneously around 633 AD, while both were still licking their wounds. So frightening were the Islamic advances that these former blood enemies made a sadly futile alliance. By 644, Persia fell anyway.

By 634 AD, Byzantine Palestine and Syria were being attacked. The Battle of Yarmouk in August 636 AD would see Eastern Roman forces beaten. Emperor Heraclius, the victorious warrior, a mere 8 years earlier, would have to sneak out back to Constantinople in a boat.

They had mercy on muslims in the end and that is something that many generations have learned does not work and never will. The only contract satan wants is one for your soul and it is signed in blood.

Disproportionalism seems to be a common malady of western historians

“...but xxx appear to be a fairly peaceful people as long as there are not too many of them.”

Now, doesn’t that apply to so many different groups, even in our own country.

“but do we remember that Islamic predation that was the real agent which caused the Dark Ages.”

Good article, but I find that statement to be a bit of a stretch. I think plague was the main causes of the Dark Ages. Plus, a portion of the Dark Ages were literally dark because of a large volcanic eruption.

“The moral of that story should be: when you fight that cancer, make sure you have air, land, sea, space, and intel superiority.”

You really do not need intel when when wiping out every last gene of these subhumans. Turn it all, and I mean ALL, to dust.

You might be onto something.

I read quite a bit about Genghis Khan in recent years and I agree fully. He was the first true "internationalist", and would have the leaders of major religions brought together to debate one another.

Had it not been for the Black Plague we'd probably all be Mongols now (and I don't meet motorcycle-riders!)

It’s this sort of bigotry that has made FR a laughingstock all over the internet.

"Bigotry". As in not accepting the validity of a religion that fosters an acceptance of flying jet planes into buildings to kill thousands of innocents inspiring the palis to dance with joy in the streets in celebration?

As in a religion that considers it perfectly acceptable to brutally saw off the heads of "infidels" (non-muslims) on live television whilst ensuring their faces are bravely well-obscured so as to not be readily identifiable?

The same one that to this day teaches its children that Jews are pigs and apes and uses its ambulances to transport rocks to various areas so its people can enguage in the traditional "game" of throwing them at innocent people?

The one whose constantly-stated goal is to establish a worldwide 'caliphate' (*spit!*) and enslave or murder anyone not of their particular brand of islamism?

Whose adherents gleefully chop innocent soldiers to death after first running him over with a car then stand about bloodily boasting about it and claim that it is just a start?

Whole areas comprised thereof who mutilate their female children before selling them off as sex slaves by sham marriages, torch cars and destroy thousands of pounds of inoffensive property because they are somehow disrespected, say by dropping one of their 'holy' books on the ground or drawing a cartoon of their false prophet mo'ham-id?

Who set off random bombs in footraces, trains, schools, shopping-malls, and even markets in their own countries because they feel that they are insufficently islamic enough?

That kind of "bigotry"?

Who could possibly be "bigoted" against that?

I suspect your postings would be more readily approved somewhere like the newblackpanter party website, or perhaps the communist-congressmen dot com (democratic party) website, as I am sure you will find much less bigotry there. Just make sure you send that regular check (colloquially known as a "bribe") to Jakson and Sharbtun and you will find lots of love and support for your positions.

Weekly, I pester my priest and the bishop to fund an armed force to protect Christians in the Middle East. Granted, they are low level but in the “chain of command,” so to speak and one has to start somewhere.

I see you don’t approve of warchild not subscribing to groupthink. By the way, have you ever bothered to read the Old Testament? Pretty damn brutal.

Actually, I have -but do not let that colour your opinions.

Indeed, it is brutal in some sections but overall it preaches peace and tolerance unlike that Religion Of "Peace" teaches. Oddly enough, those nations and people that follow its general teachings have become the forefront of the most accepting and technologically astute sections of the planet, while those of the other mindset are constantly striving to drag everyone else back to the same self-destructive barbaric mindset that have made them the most bigoted and inbred slopes ever seen. What few technological 'advances' they have gradually come to accept over the centuries have come about not by their innovations but by outright theft and indeed brutal suppression of those few innovators they have come across.

China is now following a somewhat similar path and their almost identical policies of the destruction of females coupled with the unacceptance of any inventions in favour of stealing it from the true innovators will doom it to a similar point of destruction in the end.

“....do they just listen to and believe everything they hear and read from the agenda-driven “news” media?”

.
No, not only from the MSM but very much from our public school system which often tries to promote Islam.

Ooops! That first line accidently got truncated somehow. It should read:

"Actually, I have. However I will assume you never heard of the Christian Jural Society -but do not let that colour your opinions."

Working on three different computers at the same time I am posting and sometimes do not proofread thoroughly enough.

>Wait until a few of the ones Barky is letting in from Palestine and Syria blow themselves up at the food court in the Mall.<

.
I don’t think that that will be necessary in America — in fact, such an act will be counter-productive for Islam. The act of terror in Boston did not place Islam in a favorable light with the population.

The way things are today, Islam will conquer America by osmosis since even our congresscritters do not understand, or are unwilling to understand, the danger this insidious “religion” poses. Can any one spell O-I-L?

Chessplayer, check the reading comprehension of both doctrines and note:

Violence in the Old Testament is DESCRIPTIVE of battles happening at the time (limited to the time and place).

By contrast, the Koran is PROSCRIPTIVE AND ETERNAL: instructing believers that warfare against unbelievers must be carried out at all places and all times.

“I see the crusades as a kind of peremptory action by the west. The Saracens were causing a lot of trouble in the Mediterranean basin and beyond in those days. The west decided the best thing to do was to take the fight to them.”

The Crusades were attempts to RE-take Christian lands; they were a thoroughly justified defense against Islamic aggression.
