Tensions are rising in Japan over radioactive water leaking into the Pacific Ocean from Japan's crippled Fukushima Daiichi nuclear plant, a breach that has defied the plant operator's effort to gain control.
Prime Minister Shinzo Abe on Wednesday called the matter “an urgent issue” and ordered the government to step in and help in the clean-up, following an admission by Tokyo Electric Power Company that water is seeping past an underground barrier it attempted to create in the soil. The head of a Nuclear Regulatory Authority task force told Reuters the situation was an "emergency."

So. I’m guessing the prudent thing to do is stop all that exotic Sushi crap. Maybe think more about inland farm bred salmon over the ‘wild caught’ stuff. Forget tuna, forget albacore from the pacific.. All those other Hawaii mahi mahi (sp)...I dunno...

How many Nuclear submarines have been sunk by accident with operating nuclear reactors.With the number of subs that have gone down I don’t see a reason to panic.
How much radiation is being emitted by those reactors is a wild guess but governments have’nt been worrying much.
History shows again and again how nature points out the folly of man.
Considering that quite a lot of tsunami flotsam is already here, I would suspect that some of the radiation is, as well. Is our fleet catching radioactive tuna this season?
For me, it’s north Atlantic and southern hemisphere salmon. ;)

Russians regularly dump radio water in sands where it gets dissipated. It would be more dangerous as an aerosol like Chernobyle, imo.

Not all of them were operating. At least 2 were shut down, but not defueled.
I refuse to purchase any meat that isn't so labeled. The problem though, are they telling the truth. Maybe we just need to strengthen the laws concerning false advertisement. That could be done on state levels with mandatory prison sentences.
