Clyburn: Democrats structured Obamacare to use in 2014 election
Washington Post ^ | Aug 11, 2013 | By Aaron Blake

House Assistant Minority Leader James Clyburn (D-S.C.) said Sunday that Democrats deliberately structured Obamacare to use as an issue in the 2014 election.

During an appearance on CNN’s “State of the Union,” host Candy Crowley noted that many of the law’s more popular items (coverage for pre-existing conditions, for example) kick in in 2014, while the part requiring all employers to provide health insurance, for instance, was delayed until after the 2014 election.

“The fact of the matter is, we will be running on Obamacare in 2014. In fact, we set it up to run on it in 2014,” Clyburn said. “All that you’re talking about right now kicks in as of January 1, 2014. We will start doing the exchanges on October 1, 2013.”

Republicans have seized on Obamacare early in the 2014 election cycle, as it continues to poll not very popularly and some Democrats have worried aloud about problems with implementation.

Clyburn noted that Social Security and Medicare weren’t popular when they were first instituted either, but now people don’t like Congress to make any changes to the programs.

“They will be saying the same thing 10 or 15 years from now about Obamacare,” Clyburn said.

Perhaps some of the survivors. Most of the elderly and the seriously ill will have been killed off by then or will be in the process of checking out. Take these pills and call me in the morning if you're still with us. Or maybe some Morphine will make you more comfortable.

This is what I’ve been saying about a lot of democrat issues.

They aren’t about fixing anything, they’re about keeping the slaves on the plantation for the next vote harvesting season.

Young people are getting conned by this law. Repubs should run on that.

Its hard to compare SS in its original form where you pay and then at least get some of the money back later vs. government taking over 1/6 of the economy with obamcare. Two different worlds, IMHO.

The ‘Rats exist solely for the pursuit of power.

They go into politics solely for the purpose of enriching themselves by graft.

Once they have attained one party rule, the corruption will become epic

I’m going to go clean my guns. (My guns have been very, VERY clean for over 5 years now, LOL!)

I’m more interested in being with others who listen to the voice of reason, so I’m going to livein Galt’s Gulch-I’m not interested in living on a plantation, no matter how good the pills are-my ancestors didn’t come here for that, and I don’t do drugs anyway.

I don’t think their current slaves are as happy, either since people like Dr. Carter, Niger Innis, Deneen Borelli, etc have shown them what keeps their ankle bracelets locked...

The plantation is going to overrun you if you intend to do nothing.

FWIW:

Poor health as a result of poor health habits is not something that Obamacare will fix, in fact Obamacare sidesteps that problem completely. (Notwithstanding Mrs. Obama's efforts to encourage a healthy diet -- a diet which schools make unpalatable, and which which kids then refuse to eat.)

That's not to say that all poor health is a result of bad habits -- only that much is, and that Obamacare doesn't do anything at all about that.

I’ve been a rebel since I was 14-I’m able to protect myself, I live in an area with others who are active politically, and we have a good congressional rep.

The plantation isn’t all that big in Texas, like in most of the South and West-far more likely to flee than confront a bunch of angry, well prepared rural Texans sick of having their hard-earned money stolen...

Mr. Clyburn must be a real genius. He also probably believes the AARP fairy tale that Soc Sec and Medicare are backed by trillion dollar "trust funds".

I note with pleasure that Mr. Clyburn is the token RAT among South Carolina’s Representatives and Senators.

His title, House Assistant Minority Leader, was made up by Pelosi some time back.

Mr. Clyburn will represent his district until he dies. It is solidly Democrat and filled with Holder’s people.

The state legislature redid the district lines a couple of years ago. They took as much away from him as they could.

House Assistant Minority Leader James Clyburn (D-S.C.) said Sunday that Democrats deliberately structured Obamacare to use as an issue in the 2014 election.

And it worked well in 2010 too. /sarc

Why save the rats from their own mess?
Promising what you cannot actually deliver(defunding obamacare) only makes people even more angry .

We have 11 senators...( 5 asked for their name to be removed from Lee’s letter) So how’s that going to work?

Let the Obamacare trainwreck play itself out and the rats wear it around their neck. By 2016 people will see what a failure it is.
The best way to defeat a bad law is to enforce it on everyone.

Republicans playing checkers again-dems playing chess.
