The rise of smart gun technology, which utilizes an RFID interface to allow for both the government and the manufacturer to remotely render the gun useless at any time, is the upcoming new tactic used by anti-Constitution control freaks in the effort to take away legal firearms from the hands of law-abiding citizens.

And these smart guns are coming much sooner than you think.
TriggerSmart, the manufacturer of the Orwellian weapons that already exist in various European regions thanks to branding that smart guns are the safer alternative to real weapons, hopes to start selling smart guns within the United States as soon as possible and you could see them make a grand entrance by 2014. But why would anyone with a brain ever buy these smart guns, which literally trace every action you take and send the data to the government for analysis?
Well, I believe that these smart guns will not simply be pushed by slick marketing via TriggerSmart and other invested corporations, but legislation that attempts to force these smart guns on the American public. As I originally covered back in March, smart guns are one of the biggest threats we face to the Second Amendment in history.
Smart Guns: The 2nd Amendment Loophole
As the creators of the Big Brother weapons have already detailed in interviews, the true power behind these RFID-controlled smart guns is the concept that they are a loophole that allows for the government to disarm the people while still upholding the Second Amendment. Essentially, it is the wet dream of anti-Constitutional mad men.
The government has tried taking away real guns from the general public, ultimately losing the war due to the fact that the public is too informed on the true statistics regarding gun control and gun defense. They cannot launch a hostile takeover of all guns within the country right now, and traitors to the nation like Dianne Feinstein are fully aware of this fact. As much as Feinstein and others would love to have Mr. and Mrs. America turn in all of their guns, this simply will not happen in such a manner at least not without mass warfare and bloodshed.
So whats the next best thing? Smart guns that become paper weights at the discretion of the government.
In the event of a terrorist attack of any kind, the government could shut down all smart guns in the area. In the event of an elevated terror alert level, there goes the guns. How about a mass shooting in your city? Better turn off the guns. Imagine if smart guns were prevalent during the Boston lockdown that followed the Boston marathon bombings, in which military-style police raided homes at gunpoint. Those smart guns would be turned off without any question.
And this is not even getting into the entire concept of how the smart guns could easily be hacked into at any point by virtually anyone.
The subject of smart guns Im discussing right now is a glimpse into the future. In due time, the mainstream media news channels will begin discussing how great smart guns are and how they could prevent violence, as NPR has already done on a smaller scale.
Its essential that you share this article as well as the video on the subject so that we can detail the timeline before it even happens. If we can document the truth here, and really inform people about the true reality of smart guns, we can ultimately beat the mainstream media before they even get started.
RFID is passive
You’d have to light us up to get anything outside of 25 feet.
I can build a detector to find your detector.
WOW! I’m fairly certain that they’ll fly out the door faster than chevy volts. I know I’ll be lining up to get one as soon as they come out. (sarc off!)
You can’t “bypass” rights....you can attempt to ignore,
minimize or infringe on them but you can’t “bypass” them.
And attempts to diminish rights only succeed to the extent
that people allow the attempts to succeed.
But ultimately a free person only has the rights they
are willing to fight for, kill for and die for.
With upwards of 200M dumb guns in America, it will be a while before only smart guns are available.
They can never control guns unless you submit.
Amen.
Pretty much.
Molon labe
I think the author is a little vague on terminology.
RFID is more or less strictly for ID, as it says. True RFID has no internal power, so it’s pretty difficult for it to effectively control something like a switch or solenoid. Remote control, while it no doubt incorporates ID, must go well beyond it to function.
The right knows nothing about pushback. Sarah Palin should announce a joint venture with George Zimmerman to open an ammunition manufacturing facility specializing in the most popular pistol calibers in a 2’nd amendment friendly state, and put up a website for orders. That’s how you push back.
It is a passive reflective system.
You can thwart it with a faraday shield *tinfoil*
And the user would have to light himself up when he lights you up.

They can never control guns unless you submit.
Tampering with it will be a... felony. Trojan horse technology.
How does one control fists if you do not allow them to shackle your hands?

Nut-job Conspiracy Theory Ping!
To get onto The Nut-job Conspiracy Theory Ping List you must threaten to report me to the Mods if I dont add you to the list...
When it’s time to start burying our guns, it’s time to start digging them up.
Everything is already a felony.
“Do you really think we want those laws observed?” Said Dr. Ferris. We want them broken. You better get it straight that it’s not a bunch of boy scouts you’re up against - then you’ll know this is not the age for beautiful gestures. We’re after power and we mean it. You fellows were pikers, but we know the real trick and you’d better get wise to it. Theres no way to rule innocent men. The only power any government has is the power to crack down on criminals. Well, when there arent enough criminals, one makes them. One declares so many things to be a crime that it becomes impossible for men to live without breaking laws. Who wants a nation of law-abiding citizens? Whats there in that for anyone? But just pass the kind of laws that can neither be observed nor enforced nor objectively interpreted and you create a nation of law-breakers - and then you cash in on guilt. Now, that’s the system Mr. Reardon, that’s the game, and once you understand it, you’ll be much easier to deal with.”
Ayn Rand, Atlas Shrugged, Part 2, Chapter 3, Page 404
That’s right.
Keep tham at a good distance.
They would not last a week before a way to root them would be on the Internet. Smart guns are stupid.
An RFID detector detector?
I want one.
You got a radio?
RF means radio frequency.
Like a phone?
Even if they start selling these puppies, I’m fairly certain that the dogs I currently own will still run with all the other big dogs.
It would take decades of selling “smart” guns to make any realistic difference in the status of arms in America. Even then, for decades and decades longer still, there will still be enough vintage arms out there to make America the world’s arms leader.
Indeed, those proposing such a policy would be at the disadvantage of depending on their technology when reality will never agree.
I believe you'll find this illustrative of the right's mindset.
We are so far on the road to totalitarianism it is scary.
For it to work people have to accept the yoke.
the RFID might be passive, but the RFID signature it’s looking for before enabling could be updated remotely
if all guns in a block were RFID enabled smart guns, the fedgov could issue a signal that would disable all guns receiving it
Generally no advanced stuff like phones have.
RFID gets it's power supply from the pinging radio transmission, as designed so no battery is necessary.
Just start implanting shutdown chips in the brains of all the peasants that can be triggered by the NSA if they determine that a peasant up to something they disapp0rove of.
And even if they managed to somehow "block" the printers they can not prevent people from making guns in their basement.
Try that with my 1897 Mosin Nagant.
Ruled to be a relic by this Gov and outside of purview.
My point is you cannot stop us short of wholesale tyranny.
This is a FREE country, and this sort of **** will not stand.
I have no desire to fight the Gov and I have no desire for them to fight me.
Don’t poke me and I wont poke you.
That’s America isn’t it?
Achh! Yee canna take me sword!

My friends are mostly engineers. I would think they could take a smart gun and make it into real gun would not take them very long.
I would like an RFID in my gun that would keep the gun in operable unless my unique wrist watch transmitter close by.
That is if my gun is stolen, it is useless without my wrist being close by.
Alternatively, a different type of smart gun might be a voice recognition automatic gun. It would fire not by pulling a trigger but on voice command only. It could even be a word like “muabdib” (Dune fans inside joke).
I forgot the /S
Its pretty basic.
I`m goona build an RFID jammer that shuts off all govt guns.
sounds like a Faraday cage will be a popular gun option in the future
Got me an heirloom from the Confederate branch of Mom's family: a 12mm Perrin revolver. That's one of the earliest cartridge revolvers ever seen on the continent, and it still works. The original cartridges are some sort of rimfire-centerfire hybrid, from back when those concepts were first being tinkered with. Looks like a giant rimfire round, but takes the hammer blow to the center.
Found another guy with one on castboolits.com and he kindly provided the roll-your-own ammo recipe. Around two years ago, it again belched fire and smoke - probably for the first time since the 1860s.
These folks have no idea how long a well-maintained firearm can remain functional.
(Yeah, I know, that's not Vasquez).
Works like a hose don’t it?
A flap holster lined with Mylar should be just as effective.
