US AMBASSADOR to Australia John Berry has married his long-term partner of 17 years in a private same-sex ceremony in Washington D.C.
The 54-year-old former head of the Office of Personnel Management - which oversees the US public service - is the first openly gay US ambassador to serve in a Group of 20 nation and the highest ranking openly gay man in United States history.
In a short statement, Mr Berry confirmed the nuptials, telling news.com.au, "John Berry and Curtis Yee, partners of 17 years, were formally married on Saturday August 10, at St Margaret's Episcopal Church in Washington DC.

Australia is currently in the middle of a Federal election campaign, with the election due on 7th September. Last night during our Prime Ministerial debate, the current Prime Minister, Kevin Rudd, pledged his support for same-sex marriage and said that if re-elected, he would introduce legislation into the Australian Parliament within 100 days to allow same-sex unions within the legal definition of marriage.
Under the circumstances - where same-sex marriage is a current political and electoral issue in Australia, I believe the United States sending an Ambassador to Australia who has just engaged in such a union to be rather unfortunate and risk the perception that the Obama administration is attempting to exert pressure on Australian domestic politics in a manner inconsistent with a typical diplomatic relationship.

Next Obummer will define adultery as a man having illegal sex with another married man.

Western political heads of state have chosen to venerate sexual abnormality, knowing full well its corrosive and degenerative effects on society at large.

The Obama regime is FULL of homos of both sexes.
The ambassadors of AU, Libya, Egypt, on and on, WH staff, cabinet appointees, SCOTUS appointees, advisors, close friends, etc.
The nancy boy/muslim president is a complete disgrace. We can only hope that the REAL truths about this idiot will be disclosed through the media sooner than later.

Yep. If this person decided they were straight tomorrow there would be a quick change in the personal employment situation.

According to the black-robed tyrant Kennedy, the ONLY reason to oppose fag marriage is your hate for them. Hate of course, is unconstitutional . . . ?
Our republic is way late for an Article V amendment convention.

He wouldn’t be if Obummer admitted it but I doubt he’ll come clean with Moochie around...

Rcently there is a committed effort at the highest levels of the US State Department to chose Ambassadors, Charges d' Affairs, DCMs, political section chiefs and what not, WHOM ARE LESBIAN OR GAY. They cannot send to "difficult countries" yet, but are pushing the envelopes and will next try to send to countries where homosexuality is not openly countenanced. The State Dept. mission is that we want to SPREAD NEW AMERICAN VALUES GLOBALLY, AND IF POSSIBLE THROUGH OUR DIPLOMATIC POSTS. This is all at the best of Kerry and Clinton before him, and Obama all the while in support as well. It is a DANGEROUS State Dept. trend if you ask me.
